DaphneGreat Hair Dryer...when It's WorkingI had a problem with my first wigo and the company replaced it for free. I'm now having problems with my second wigo after using it for about 2-3 years. I'm going to contact there customer service, which is part of Helen of Troy USA.posted Jun 17, 2010Link to this post

VivaGood hair dryer but hated the touch controls because if it ever looses power you have to adjust controls every time. Has stopped working after 8 months and has always had air coming out of the bottom of the cord area. Just waiting for the sparks. Not very user friendly or safe.posted Jun 9, 2010Link to this post

KristenSt. LouisShoots Sparks And Quits!I've had 2 of these. The first one worked great until it started shooting sparks out the back. I thought it was just a one-time thing so I ordered another. It's a heavy dryer but good. Today, I turned it on and a large spark or fire shot out the back and it shut off. Don't buy this. It does work nicely - when it's not on fire. Wigo has a safety issue with this dryer and it should be taken off the market until it's fixed.posted Jun 4, 2010Link to this post

Michelle WoolleyHighland Lakes, NJDryer Shoots Sparks Out Of BottomI had this dryer, after 8 months it started shooting sparks out of the end where the cord attaches to it. Wigo promptly replaced it and now after 6 months the replacement is shooting sparks out of the end just like the first.DANGEROUS PRODUCT- DO NOT BUY!posted Apr 11, 2008Link to this post

JessicaStopped Getting Hot After 6 Months! This hair dyer does not last nor did it make much difference on my hair. I have wavy hair that can be frizzy. This hair dryer was not much different than a store bought brand. After 6 months of use it would only get warm (not hot). I tred to contact the makers of Wigo but it is impossible to find their information anywhere. DO NOT buy this hair dryer.posted Aug 25, 2007Link to this post

DthomasPortland, ORDryer Caught On Fire And Wouldn't Turn Off...I had this dryer for a year and a half and one morning it started smoking and the plastic was melting AND it wouldnt turn off. My entire bedroom and bathroom smelled of burnt plastic for days and I had to have it professionally cleaned by a fire clean up crew. I have had very little luck getting an appropriate response from Wigo who only said it was because of lint build-up. In the 30+ years I have been using a hair dryer, I have cleaned lint off of one maybe twice. If such a horrible and dangerous thing can occur from simply not removing lint, the manufacturers need to be more diligent about warning consumers. I will never purchase a Wigo again!posted Jun 19, 2007Link to this post

ElsieOhioWigo-caught On FireIve had this dryer for two years, I only use it 3-4 times a week. Yesterday morning the inside wiring caught on fire, melted the plastic casing surrounding the cord and sparks and smoke were everywhere, very scary! Ive had several hair dryers over the years and nothing this dangerous happened with my cheap $20 hair dryers, Ill stick with them. I did like the dryer, but it was nothing special, not much difference other than the price.posted Mar 28, 2007Link to this post

TessNot Worth The Money.Ive had this dryer for 6 months and all of a sudden it only blows out cold air. Ive had cheap dryers last me much longer than this one. Also, i didnt see a difference is drying time or making my hair look healthier. Pressing the button several times to get the heat up was also a pain in the butt. I will never buy a Wigo again- complete waste of money.posted Oct 10, 2006Link to this post

Jessica FL.A., CANot The Most User-friendly, But *totally* Worth It!!!1) Let me start by saying that I agree with many points in the negative reviews. -This hairdryer IS very heavy. My 53 year old mother has no problem with it, but anyone with weak arms/back or who is older may feel uncomfortable with it.-The buttons are not normal hairdryer switches. They are actual buttons that you press to accelerate the speed or raise the heat. So instead of just moving up a switch, you have to push and push and push on the buttons 2-4 times.2) I do have one point I disagree on: my hairdryer does not default back to the lowest settings when it is turned off. I just went and checked. So maybe they have fixed this in newer models?3) My review: I LOVE this hairdryer. Whenever I would visit my parents, I would use my moms dryer and notice that my hair was easier to style, shinier, and seemed more healthy. It didnt take me long to realize it was her hairdryer! This dryer is not very hot. In fact the heat doesnt come even close to my previous dryer (some Revlon drugstore version). This is great for my hair as it keeps it from getting fried and frizzled. And the best thing is that even though it doesnt heat up as hot, it dries my hair faster than ever! So less heat for health and quicker drying time for convenience in life! Sounds good to me!!!I have used many ionic or ceramic products and they always claim to make your hair healthier but I never really can see true results. With this dryer I felt my hair getting better right away. I highly recommend it and Im so happy I finally made the purchase!posted Sep 24, 2006Link to this post

ShontaMountain View, CAFinally!! The Perfect Dryer!!Yes, there are so many ceramic ion dryers out there, but this is the only one out there that allows you infinite heat and air speeds! I was wondering when someone would figure it out that having only 2 or 3 settings to choose from is not the best for everyone. I have damaged my scalp from a bad color job. Heat is not a good thing to apply to it, however I have to blow dry my hair or it just looks like crap. This dryer allows me to set a lukewarm type of setting at a very low speed, which does not irritate my very sensitive scalp! Its a bit on the heavy side is the only drawback I can see, but it is so worth it. Id think this would cost as much as the Chi or the T2 that are over $100 as it does the same thing and offers much more versatility, so Im very greatful that the price is very reasonable for what you get!!posted Jun 28, 2006Link to this post
