JulieTexasHairMedium BrownOily HairColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairSupersolano 3600 Micro Professional Hair Dryer Vs SeduHi, So my drugstore hairdryer broke and my sister and friends told me that a professional hairdryer is a must-have. I didn't see much on the internet except people saying that they loved X dryer and that professional hairdryers are $$$. Couldn't decide so I purchased the SuperSolano 3600 Micro Professional Hair Dryer (hair dryer a friend has, tried and liked it, and it's the hairdryer in my gym's locker room) and Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i (kept hearing about this one) to compare them. And I asked my hairdresser to take part in the experiment. He dried half of my hair with each drier and applied Kerastase Elixir Ultime to both sides. Results are below. Hope this helps you decide.
Characteristic and Winner:
Weight: Sedu
Cord Length: Sedu (not a deal maker/breaker for me)
Physical Design: Sedu Noise: Tie - wouldn't sleep through either of them
Sleekness: Sedu (I wouldn't say my hair is frizzy, but saw a definite difference)
Time to Dry: Sedu (was seriously 1/2 the time!! - we broke out the timer here)
Price: Sedu (thanks, Folica purchased on Sedu discount day)
Sedu's negative - hair had static after drying. Since winter's almost here, I'm going to buy some DStat to tame. Maybe someone's kid can figure out what's going on with Sedu's ions to cause so much static for a science fair project and report back.
PS I'm rating SuperSolano 3600 Micro Professional Hair Dryer a 4 star
PSS Sorry no photos, hair appointment was at 8:30 am and I went straight from the gym and didn't have make up and non-workout outfit to get one of those cleaned up "after" photosposted Nov 25, 2011Link to this post -

Rebecca T.WashingtonCheaply Made...broken Parts In 6 Months...motor Completely Burned Up In 8!So it worked just ok but not any better than any other dryer I have had in the past. My last professional dryer was given to me by my son (a hairdresser) and it lasted for years until it finally just quit. In December 2010 I replaced it with this one because of the good reviews. By early June 2010 the screen and filter assembly were loose inside...obviously something broken that held it in place...and for no apparent reason since it had never been dropped or misused in anyway. I still used it but wasn't too happy that it had already broken. By August 2010 the dryer started smelling and smoke was pouring out as the motor burned up! I am using a travel dryer while I look for a quality professional dryer with a good track record of lasting longer than 8 months for sure!posted Nov 23, 2011Link to this post

RebeccaHairCurly HairLeft My Curly Hair Limp And FrizzyI bought this with high hopes using the $40 recycle your dryer promotion. I shipped off my old dryer and waited for the this one to arrive. I borrowed my daughter's Babyliss Turbo 2800 dryer which worked well in the meantime. I have thick naturally curly hair that I use diffuse so I ordered it with the Sedu diffuser. Unfortunately, with the diffuser attached, this blow dryer hardly had any airflow and mostly just heat. It took LONGER to dry my hair and by the time it was done I was left with a frizzy mess on top and limp curls on the bottom. I'm not sure if it is more the fault of the dryer or the diffuser design. The diffuser is too shallow to hold much hair and definitely not enough holes for airflow so it took too long to dry resulting in frizziness. I wished I had waited before mailing off my old dryer. The dryer might be more suitable for those who straighten their hair because I do NOT recommend it for people who diffuse their curls.posted Nov 22, 2011Link to this post

Jacqueline K.Fond Du Lac, WiHairLight BrownDry HairColor Treated HairThick or Coarse HairMakes Hair Feel Soft And Smooth!!!!This is a great blow drier. Dries my thick, course, slightly wavy hair in no time. When used with a round or paddle brush, it gets my hair straight and smooth! As long as it lasts a long time and doesnt break down I would say it was worth the money!!posted Nov 15, 2011Link to this post

JudyHairDark BrownColor Treated HairVery Happy With My New Hair Dryer
My hair is dark brown, long, and has been colored for many years. I bought this product because of the reviews at this website. I had originally gone to my local beauty supply company and realized that price ranges were considerable so I needed to do some homework. I read up on what you should look for (ionic, ceramic, tourmaline) and this product had all three. I love it because it dries my hair so much faster than my old one that recently kicked the bucket. Since I am getting older (60 plus), I also appreciate that it is lightweight and has an ergonomic
handle. All in all, I am very pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

EllieLos Angeles, CaHairNormal HairFine or Thin HairSeriously???!!!I had a Chi before this hair dryer and wanted something that would deliver similar results. I was extremely disappointed. I got a Remington hair dryer from Target for about $40 that works MUCH better than this $160 Sedu. It takes much longer to dry your hair, it does not get hot enough, and it is no better than a Conair Infiinity (I used that one too and returned it). Save your money and spend it on a Chi. Highly disappointed and I'm returning this.posted Nov 10, 2011Link to this post

SusanHairBlondeChemically Treated HairAwesome ProductI have the pink version and have to say, not only does the color cheer me up every morning, the results of using the product leaves me extremely happy. I had the older version of this product which was a lot bigger in size, so when this smaller version showed up, I was disappointed at first but quickly changed my tune after the first use! This product is just as good as the larger one only much easier to travel with, lighter to hold, and more fun to look at!posted Nov 8, 2011Link to this post

KarenHairLight BrownCurly HairThick or Coarse HairGreat HairdryerI bought this dryer because my daughter had recommended it (she is a hair stylist). I like that it is small and the power is fabulous. I have thick, wavy, coarse hair and it usually takes me 25 minutes to blowdry my hair. It took me only 15 minutes to blowdry and style. I was reluctant to buy it because so many reviews said it was very heavy. I wouldn't say it is light but it is not any heavier than my cheap dryer.posted Nov 5, 2011Link to this post

Kim C.Dallas, TXHairLight BrownDry HairCurly HairIt Definitely Has Power! This blow dryer is definitely powerful, including the lower setting. However, I am not sure I am completely satisfied. I have hair that is naturally curly, but easily straightened. This blower dryer does a fantastic job at quickly drying my hair and making it appear shiny and less frizzy when straightened. However, I do NOT like this dryer for my curly hair days. The diffuser is horrible and the power blows the curl right out. The controls are in a great location. They do not get in the way while dryer is in use. The dryer weight is average. I am use to the T3 Featherweight, so it is requiring a little adjustment. Also, I do not like the fact there is not a cover over the mesh intake for easy cleaning. All in all... I think I am going to check out the return policy. This dryer is just not for me.posted Oct 31, 2011Link to this post
