RtckjcKYLove This Product!I have a lot of fine hairs on my jawline/neck area that are so hard to pluck with tweezers. This thing is great for that! It doesn't really hurt in that area. The upper lip area is painful to me. I just started out doing a small section each day til completed. Now I will maybe once a week to keep all the hairs gone.posted Jan 25, 2012Link to this post

BeccaSan Antonio, TXHairAuburnCurly HairThick or Coarse HairWhat Took Me So Long To Buy This?!? Kiss Razors Good Bye!I'm 19 years old and I've been cursed with facial hair since i was about 10. I've been putting up with it for far too long. I've tried plucking, shaving, Nair, Vaniqua, laser treatments (doesn't work because my hair is blonde and red), and waxing. Waxing is a big no no for my face because the skin is so sensitive and I've almost scarred from it a few times. I've been looking at epilators for a few weeks now trying to decide on which one to get. After reading mostly positive reviews from ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY PEOPLE I decided to go with this one. I purchased it at Sally's today because I didn't want to have to pay for shipping and have to wait for it. In the end its about the same price. I have tried this out on the back of my hand, which is what the manual suggested to do in order to get used to the sensation, and I've gotta tell you... this DOES NOT hurt. It can be a little uncomfortable with a slight sting but its really nothing. After sitting for hours plucking the hairs out myself and having two INCREDIBLY ROUGH Vietnamese women wax and pluck me in front of a bunch of strangers at a salon, I can barely feel this (and don't have to sit through the embarrassment). Yes it does leave your skin a little irritated and red. But, what from the root hair removal method doesn't? That irritation soon fades. It does take several passes over an area to grab most of the hairs. The important thing to remember is that each hair is a different length because of the different stages of growth, which means it may take multiple sessions to be 100% smooth. I've also tried this on my upper lip and my legs. I have come to the conclusion that I would also like to buy a larger Emjoi meant for larger areas such as my legs. I can't wait to be hair free all over for longer periods of time. I really would love to let the man in my life touch my face or talk to people one on one without the fear of them feeling or staring at my facial hair. I also would love to get back into modeling. Those close up shots with those professional cameras sure do capture everything. :/ Besides, I'm in college and I don't want to be self conscious about my body during the best years of my life. I want to be able to just run out the door without saying "S***! I didn't shave! Everyone at the party is going to stare at my chin!" I hope I continue to be as satisfied with this product as I am now and I hope this review helps. I know a lot of women have the same problem as I do, so its important to share our experiences with what we've tried to remedy our problem and to boost our confidence. Somewhere down the line I'm sure I'll probably post another review saying if I still love (or if I started to hate) this wonderful gadget. One wish though, can they make something meant for eyebrows? :Dposted Aug 9, 2011Link to this post

Hairy G.DC Metropolitan AreaHairBlackNormal HairThick or Coarse HairAffordability Vs. Pain ToleranceI'm a pretty hairy guy (thick hair with deep roots) and I've waxed before and have thought about laser treatments to remove hair on my abs, chest and arms but thought I'd give this product a try first since it claims to pull the air from the root. I've tried it on my arms, abs, and chest. It was fine on my arms but when I tried my abs and chest it was a lot more painful since those hairs have deep roots and are double hair follicles. Definitely can't do it all in one pass because the head is small (both good and bad) and since it is pretty painful to do it all in one shot unless you have a high tolerance for pain. I got through half of my abs before I had to stop. If you have deep roots it might make you bleed a little and you will definitely have redness and sensitivity around the treated area.
Now, I'm not entirely sure if it pulls the hair from the root (it looks like it does) or if it just rips the hair very close to the root since I just used it a couple days ago, so it will be some time before I find out for sure. But even if it doesn't pull by the roots its a cheap way to keep a waxed skin feel (without having to take a layer off your skin).
Important notes:
-I trimmed my hair to the length of a Number 1 buzz cut before using this product since if it is too long it will catch unwanted hair and it might hurt a bit more. But if your hair is too short, it will NOT catch.
-Make sure the on/off button is facing away from your body.
-Make sure you are going against the grain (in the opposite direction of the hair growth).
-If the pain is too much to bare, consider using a numbing cream on your skin, it might help.posted May 27, 2011Link to this post -
ThankfulTXHairDark BrownThick or Coarse HairWow!Just got it, opened up the EpiSlim, but the batteries in, read the instructions and used it. I was very skeptical because nothing has worked on my facial hair on my chin/neck. I have done laser treatments, shaving, tweezing, tried creams, etc., and nothing has worked or lasted. Rips the hair out of its root where you can see each hair and be able to tell its pulling them out, not cutting the hair. It was a tad overwhelming at first because I had let the hair grow out a little bit to be able to catch it, so it was getting several hairs at one time and I was a little jumpy. But as it was removing the hair and becoming smooth, it was very easy for me to pull the skin tight and just let it work. Got nearly every hair, switching to different light I could see a few I missed because I could not see them. A little redness from me pulling my skin tight and where it pulled the hair out. We'll see how it hold up with irritation, bumps or ingrown hairs over the next few days, but so far I am extremely pleased!posted Apr 17, 2011Link to this post

KdHairDark BrownThick or Coarse HairFantastic...but Can Be PainfulI have been cursed with horrible facial hair. It can be both dark & thick. On the sides of my face, I could barely feel the pain. The first few mins of it, it hurt, but after a few mins, I had gotten used to it.
However for my chin & the area below it, it HURT way too much! I did some investigating and found a cream called Res-Q. It is an analgesic cream which cut the pain down by HALF.
I do highly recommend this product though. I have only had to use it about once every week to a week and a half. If you can find a way around the pain in the more sensitive areas, this little gadget will be your dream come true.
For the first time in more than 10 years, I feel like I am winning the battle against facial hair!

BrendaHairDark BrownNormal HairColor Treated HairNever Be Without!!!!!!My best friend told me about this product and I went on line and read the reviews. I got it when the shipping was free so that made it even better.
I read where people said it may hurt but OMG you could hardly feel it, but it does pull the hair out from the root and much better then creme or waxing. I use it every week on my face which is what I got it for. Going to get one for my granddaughter for her face and I sure she will love it as much as I do. Cannot live without it. Best tip I ever got from my friend!posted Jan 18, 2011Link to this post -
Rachel LMiHairNormal HairFine or Thin HairBest Eva For Thin Haired PepsBest hair remover I have ever had!
Ok I'm fair-haired (French heritage), so all I did was wax two times before I let my hair grow a little and used the epi hair remover. Worked like a charm on my legs, under arms and bikini line.. I have read for the dark, thicker haired people it doesn't really do the job... but for my thin hair it worked well on everything. I also used rechargeables, but I haven't had to replace my batteries yet.
I would recommend it to any fair haired individuals. BUT I would wax two hair growth rounds and then use the epi.. Let your hair get as thin as possible before you use it.posted Dec 28, 2010Link to this post -
AshleyBuy This!! You Will Not Be Sorry~!wow, this epilator has changed my life (cheesy, but true!) I have always had a slight issue with facial hair, upper lip & chin area. This little thing pulls the hair out right at the root. i had zero regrowth for at least 4 weeks. Yes, it hurts a little at first, but eventually you get used to it. Besides, its so so so worth it. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone. Give it a shot, it's worth it. I have my self confidence back. Thank you epi slim :)posted Nov 26, 2010Link to this post
