Goody Simple Styles: Spin Pin

KathyCanadaHairDark BrownFine or Thin HairNot For Fine Hair!If your ponytail is as thick as your pinky, this won't work very well, even if your hair is long. My "bun" is pathetic!! Although the swirly pins DO hold well!posted Nov 1, 2011Link to this post

LafirebirdLos Angeles, CAHairBlackDry HairFine or Thin HairExceptional Chignon PinI received these funky Goody spin pins today. Pulled them out off the box and noticed that they're straight and stiff. I thought they're flexible and you wrap it around your hair using the two pins and lock the two pins together but I was wrong. Looked at the illustration and noticed that you first need to wrap your hair into a bun and then take one pin and drill it from the top and another pin poke it from the bottom to the top. Both pins do not need to to touch each other. I am saying drill because these spiral pins actually hold your hair together and when you want to pull it out you have to turn it to release out. My hair is half way to my back, straight and smooth so really hard to find anything that would hold it (you know Chinese hair). The first 3 times I tried it and it wouldn't hold because I didn't make the bun round and tight. The 4th time turns out beautiful and tight. I am wearing it right now. It is a bit pricey, however, it works. I think I can wear it Nordic tracking but not sure about running (might not hold). I think you need pretty long hair to get this pin to work. If you don't have super long hair to back length then you need to have thick shoulder length hair to make it work. My hair is not so thick but it is long so it works ok. I also like the fact that the pins are not visible once you get it into your hair. Hope this review helps you with your purchase.posted Oct 12, 2011Link to this post

I have very long, thick hair and nothing holds it...until now. These are a must have for every one. My only complaint is the ones for blonde hair are very flimsy and are a waset of money. I use the ones for brunttes and they can not be seen in my hair. Definetly get the brunette ones!!!posted Aug 17, 2011Link to this post

SarahHairBlondeFine or Thin HairGreat For Dancers Too!I'm a ballerina, and I've been dancing for almost my whole life. I have to make a bun almost every day, and about a year ago I had cut my hair to around shoulder length, making it harder to put up. My hair is also pretty fine and smooth, making it slip out of some buns and ponytails. Spin pins absolutely worked! Now all I need to make a comfortable bun that stays up are 2 Spin Pins, 2 hairties and a hairnet. They saved me from my daily hairpin headache, and make it much easier to go to dance. Of course, I use Spin Pins in my daily life too, and they work great there too! You won't regret it if you buy them.posted Aug 5, 2011Link to this post

JillianIAHairDark BrownFine or Thin HairCould Not Live Without My Spin PinsI have very fine hair and I can make a quick messy bun and these hold all day long without hurting my head one bit. The ends do stick out of my bun, but I don't mind the look. I love when I take down my hair it has a bunch of soft curls. Love this product and use it every single day. There is a smaller version with 3 in the package from goody that I've found elsewhere, but I prefer the long ones.posted Jul 9, 2011Link to this post

StephanieUnited StatesHairDark BrownNormal HairColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairChemically Treated HairThe Newest IncarnationBack in the 80s, a product just like this called "Hair Scroos" came out--we used them at the salon. Something happened and they disappeared from the US market for a while. It's nice to see that Goody has come out with their own readily-available version. I have fine hair--a real pain to put up because there's just not much to grab onto. With just four of these pins, I can give myself a spot-on French twist. Buy these, ladies. You won't regret it.posted Jun 8, 2011Link to this post
