AngelaHairBlondeColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairThick or Coarse HairNot For Thick Hair, I Think? Not for thick hair, or at least that's my guess. I have a lot of fine hair, approx. to the bottom my shoulder blades. This barret would not close without approximately 9-10 tries. I could not tell if it was a problem with too much hair, or if the mechanism itself was just faulty. Given the cost, i was pretty disappointed. I would consider it unuseable. I would say the other two from this brand (the large rectange and the smaller rectangle one) worked excellent even when i twist all my hair up and clip it at the top, it stays up all day. So I'd say try one of those two.posted Jan 2, 2013Link to this post

Lorie+ & -The pluses 1. The barrette is very pretty
2. Mailing was fast
3. Customer Service was polite and efficient
The minuses 1. The barrette closure is cheap
2. The barrette will not stay closed
I received two of this product with the same result. The closure is not sturdy enough to hold my hair and kept popping open. It was hard to get the closure to work properly when the barrette was not in my hair. Other barrettes from this company did not have this problem as the closure was much more substantial. I would suggest not buying this particular barrette until the closure issue can be remedied.posted Mar 7, 2012Link to this post -
Jane P.HairColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairReally Like This, Really Pretty, But......I ordered the one that is called "onyx," but I thought I was getting the pictured "nacro black" one, so be aware that the order of the tiny selection squares are in the opposite order of the barrettes in the picture. (The "tokyo" is the middle either way.) As I was saying, it is really pretty, but even with my not-so-thick shoulder-length hair, the closure does not seem very secure--you don't get that satisfying "click" when you close it. HOWEVER, I have worn it twice already for a few hours each time, and it did not come loose, so it does actually work in my hair. In my opinion, it is expensive for a pretty plastic barrette, but I splurged and bought it when I caught one of Folica's special deals!posted Aug 24, 2011Link to this post

BetsyNew JerseyHairBlondeNormal HairColor Treated HairFrance Luxe Elysee BarretteThis barrette does the job. I have very thick but smooth and silky hair. The advertising does what it says. It holds a good amount of hair comfortably. Plus, it is very stylish.
I bought the rectangular barrette and very happy with that one too.posted Mar 21, 2011Link to this post -
Anon74NycHairDark BrownCurly HairThick or Coarse HairFrance Luxe Elysee BarretteI got this is in the Nacro Black & love it. I have extremely thick, tightly curly hair and it's always challenging finding a barrette that will hold the bulk of my hair without getting all tangled, but this product works wonderfully. I could do without the steep price, though, which is why I knocked off a star. Thirty bucks for a barrette is pretty ridiculous, but I was feeling indulgent so got it anyway :) If it were a lot less expensive I probably would get all three colors.posted Aug 29, 2010Link to this post
