ClCAHairAuburnCurly HairColor Treated HairNot Worth The Price Or The Damage On Your HairI received this as a gift and was excited to try it out...
To begin with, the moment that I plugged it in it smelled funky. I could see smoke coming out of plates and figured it was just part of the heating up process. I adjusted the temperature control to the max and noticed that it took FOREVER to heat up. When I was ready to use it on my hair, I ran it through once and it left my hair frizzy. I ran it again on the same strand and didn't see it any straighter. I think it took about 4 run throughs until I looked some what straight.
I donĂ¢??t have the heart to give it back to the person that gave it to me and since no gift receipt was included to I guess I will have to put it up for sale. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!

AndreaLawrence, MaNopeI had it for a little while, maybe a month or so, and I began to notice a burning smell. Also, my hair would frizz A LOT and never stay straight. After the thrid month I had it, IT MELTED! The black paint on the plates began to crackle away and little bubbles were forming... I don't remember where I got it from, but it wasn't folica. EWWW! JasmineBridgeport, CTThe Best Flat Iron Ever!!!My hair is in a natural state, meaning I dont use a chemical relaxer on it. I used to, but stopped two years ago because my hair fell out from alopecia. I have been using this flat iron since last year (2008) and it gets the job done. My hair is shiny and smooth afterward. I know what most of the reviewers mean about the smell but I know that I am dealing with high, high heat. If you get your hair done at a salon, then you should be used to that smell when dealing with marcel irons and stoves!!! The plates get a little grimey, however with all styling tools they should be wiped off after every use; (it says that in the instructions!!)I am thinking about buying another one as a backup!! I have yet to find a problem with this flat iron.posted May 30, 2009Link to this post

SjEh It's Okay...dries Out EndsI got this iron (limited edition Pink Leopard version) and expected it to be awesome cuz it was tourmaline ceramic...I was wrong. Its okay but my moms naturally straight hair looks better than mine straightened with this. It also dries out my ends even when I use CHI protective spray. Im goin for the Solia now; as for the last words for this flat iron...def not worth the money, a cheap ConAir would be the equivalent, if not better.posted Jan 18, 2009Link to this post

Ashley FinelloBurns Your Hair!!!This is the hair straightner that I got for Christmas last year. I didnt really care what kind of straightner that I got, as long as it was a thin one. I regreted getting this straghtner after a month!! It FRYS your hair. Whenever I turn it on, it even smells like burnt hair!! My hair is permanantley damaged now. I have semi-thick hair and I have to have a my straightner on a high setting for it to be straight. Mine is set at 350. I tried to lower the temp, but it wouldnt straighten. I would not buy this product unless you want your hair to fry INSTANTLY!!! Dont bother buying heat protecters, it wont help one bit.posted Oct 22, 2008Link to this post

ShannonNYNot GoodMy Mother bought me this straightener awhile ago from a hair supply store. It got the job done at first and heated quickly. Then it started to have a burning smell when you turned it on and doesnt keep your hair straight that long after you use it. It damages your hair even when I used heat protection. It makes a lot of hair come out too. I dont recommend this product.posted Dec 8, 2007Link to this post
