Solia Universal Dual Voltage Ceramic Flat Iron (1")

KatGermanyHairMedium BrownNormal HairCurly HairFine or Thin HairLove It But Keeps BreakingI love this flat iron. It works quickly, well and it is dual voltage. There are two problems. One, the transformer (electric) box that is attached is huge and isn't easy for constant travel. I travel 2 weekends of the month and it takes up a lot of space and weight. The biggest down fall has been the fact that I have only had this iron since August and I am now on my 4th replacement. It will just stop heating. The lights all stay on like it is working but I go to use it and it isn't hot at all. Really bumbs me out because it is such a great iron.
I still have hope and am waiting for the next one to come....posted Jun 10, 2011Link to this post -
ArianaHairDark BrownOily HairCurly HairColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairHair Treat!Im a model and i have to take enormous care of my hair and skin. This ceramic iron really takes care of my hair. I can totally tell the difference between this iron and the ones hair stylist use. Doesn't damage my ends and is so soft with my hair even i use it with it's highest temperature. It was worth the money.posted Apr 4, 2011Link to this post

Nancy G.Long BeachHairBlackCurly HairSolia Hair IronI'm sorry, but i just got my new solia straighter and i have not had the best experience. I have only had the iron for about 3 months and it has damage my hair more than my old straighter which i got from the mall. My hair has gotten more damage and it feels more dry when iron it with my Solia then with any other straighter. I actually feel my hair more frizzy.posted Mar 2, 2011Link to this post

ReneeMontrealHairDark BrownFine or Thin HairSolia Universal Did Not Deliver The Results PromisedI have purchased the Solia Universal falt iron and have used it 2-3 times over the last few days. It did not straighten hair properly. I have easy to manage hair (Fine and slightly wavy) this should take me only 10-15 minutes to do but my air stayed wavy at the tip and gradualy waved a few hours later. I have decided to sent it back and requested an exchange for the solia flat ion iron . Hopefully the transaction will be quick and I will be satisfied with this second purchase . I have tried solia before and was amazing so hopefully it was only the adaptor for universal voltage that took away the effectiveness of the solia product.... I will update once my new solia arrives ,crossing my fingers this will be the right product for me !!!! To be contunuedposted Jan 12, 2011Link to this post

AnnaHairNormal HairEhh...disappointedJust got my package from Folica in the mail and was excited to open it--I travel to Europe every couple months and wanted one flat iron that I can use both here and there. I haven't been able to test it on my hair yet but I plugged it in and it seemed to get pretty hot. BUT (and this is a BIG "BUT"...) the voltage converter is HUGE. This is definitely quite large for travel. Grr--is this what all dual voltage electronics are like?posted Dec 8, 2010Link to this post

MonaHairDark BrownNormal HairWorks Well, On Higher Heat SettingsI received this flat iron a week ago. I will be traveling to India and I hope it will work well there. I tried this out here and it works well. It removed the frizz from my hair and straightened it out. However does not heat up as much as the regular Solia flat iron which I have. To get similar results I had to raise the heat to maximum on the dual voltage Solia (I have moderately wavy fine hair)
The converter is heavy, but if the products does its job , I am okay with that.
Overall I am satisfied with the product, I do hope it functions well overseas.posted Nov 5, 2010Link to this post -
SusieHairCurly HairNo More WorriesI fly to Germany 4 times a month. I took & used my new Solia Universal Dual Voltage Flat iron this past trip. It was great. I would recommend it to anyone that flies to Europe. No more worries about my flat iron going out (like happened a few weeks ago). The shipping was fast also.posted Oct 25, 2010Link to this post

PzLos AngelesHairBlackDry HairThick or Coarse HairDoes Not Reach High Heat TemperatureI have very thick and coarse hair. I own a CHI and absolutely love it. However, I needed a flat iron for international travel and CHI doesn't have a good option for that. So, after a lot of research I decided to go with Solia Universal Dual Voltage iron. The instructions said that the iron heats up in 30 seconds and the light flickers after the iron is hot. I had mine on the highest setting and I waited for a long time for it to heat up (almost 10-15 minutes). But the light never flickered or reached the high enough heat. It took a long time to iron the hair and the results were very mediocre. I am not sure if using it in 220V would give any different results than trying in 110V. I want to use it in 220V before deciding on returning it. Is there any other dual voltage iron that anyone would recommend?posted Oct 5, 2010Link to this post

Shelby L.SullyNot So Great..This straightner didnt work well at all for me.. after going over it multiple times, my hair was still flippy and didnt look smooth. When i had it on 400 or 450 degrees (whichever its highest setting is) my hair was hardly hot.. my old $30 dollar one from target works better than this one.. i wouldnt recomend this straightner..posted Sep 8, 2010Link to this post

T K.Salem, ORHairLight BrownNormal HairCurly HairColor Treated HairGreat Straightener For Camping Or Traveling! This is a great straightener. Brought it camping to straighten my natural, shoulder length curly hair while it was damp. Plugged it into our mini-van lighter outlet. It heated up very fast and actually worked better than the commercial grade straightener I use at home. Created beautiful, shiny, straight hair or soft waves if I used it to curl my hair. I am so glad I purchased this product. I got so many compliments from the group I camped with on my hair. Shhhhh.....I'm not telling them my secret! GREAT PRODUCT!!!posted Aug 29, 2010Link to this post
