JessicaHairBlackNormal HairWhoohooI've had three flat irons before this one, and this just owns them all! It's very sturdy, thick, almost. The flat iron is aesthetically pleasing, for sure, and does a wonderful job with my hair. Curls are easy to make, crimps don't turn out as awkward and uneven waves, and straightening is super easy. My hair is shiny and smooth after use, and this is a good travel size. A small complaint I have is the light, when it is ready to use, it blinks rather than just lighting up- odd, and kind of bugs me. Very minor con, though.posted Jul 6, 2011Link to this post

Bee N.HairBlackNormal HairFine or Thin HairBest Iron Ever!!I bought this iron 6 yrs ago because I was needing something better than my store brand iron. My original intent was to buy a Chi iron, which I thought I was getting...I was young and didn't read thoroughly. When I received it and saw Solia on it, I honestly thought it was a type of Chi and not a competitor. Lol, so this purchase was a mistake, but a great one. My iron still works to this day, but only complaints are that it squeaks (but this happened after 2 yrs), the Solia clips on this sides both fell off, and a piece of the casing broke off next to the iron plates..but this is due to my clumsiness and I had dropped it multiple times over the years; so completely my fault. I've recommended this to my older sister to get it on Folica and she has owned hers for about 4 yrs now too and going strong. This iron had never snagged my hair, until the broken part of the casing occurred but thats expected. I've used this to curl and straighten my hair alike and have gotten great compliments about how silky and shiny my hair looks. Recently I've purchased the 1-1/4"Solia to replace the 1" due to the broken casing but couldnt bare to throw away the 1" bc it curled my hair so well. Overall, I definitely recommend the 1" for versatility and the best mistake I've bought.posted Jul 2, 2011Link to this post

KellyHairAuburnThick or Coarse HairMy Second! This straightener has made my life 100% easier. I got my first Solia 4 years ago and used it almost every day. It has made my wavy hair perfectly straight and looking very healthy. My clumsy self has dropped this multiple times but still worked for a very long time. After 4 years, I decided it was worth it to get a new one because I had dropped it so many times. I didnt even bother looking at any other straightener, I went straight to the Solia!!posted Jun 14, 2011Link to this post

Jenn R.KYHairLight BrownColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairIt's True, You Get What You Pay ForI never thought I'd buy a 'higher priced' flat iron. I stuck with Walmart, Target brands. I have been using a Tigi Bed Head ceramic flat iron that I purchased from Target with decent results. Then I thought about the higher end irons. Decided to buy the Solia from Folica. Received it very quickly. Tried it out. Love it. I am 39 years old caucasian. Have fine hair, color treated. Pretty much naturally 'straight' if you will. But I can't air dry it or even blow dry it and get nice looking straight hair. It frizzes out. The Solia really is gentle on my hair. Doesnt tug or pull. Heats quickly compared to my Tigi! Within seconds. It straightens super compared to my other one. It does seem you get what you pay for. I was going to purchase a Chi but decided against it since reading so many stories of how they dont last very long and the warranty isn't very good. I also love the cord on my Solia. Nice and long and not stiff. Came with a free storage bag. I should have bought this a long time ago!posted May 28, 2011Link to this post

BrigidHairLight BrownCurly HairThis Iron Is Great! One of my roommates and I recently upgraded our flat irons to this solia one. We were both amazed at how well it works, even on damp hair! I think it's great because my hair is curly and usually unruly, but after using this flat iron it stayed straight in very humid weather and even after I slept on it. With my old iron my hair would start to get fluffy or curl back up a little in humid weather or towards the end of the day, but with the solia, it stays super straight all day, even after sweating or being rained on a little! After using this product, my hair also feels very soft and has a nice sheen that I've never been able to get before. I would definitely recommend this solia iron to anyone looking for a a new flat iron.posted May 23, 2011Link to this post

KarissaHairMedium BrownNormal HairThick or Coarse HairStay Classy, Solia Lovers.I'll admit-- even though I'm not a college student any more, I'm still cheap. I thought forking over cash for designer fashion and hair tools (even the "good for your hair" stuff) was a frivolous luxury. Then I tried my cousin's Solia hair dryer while on vacation. HUGE difference. While I was checking out hair dryers to get one of my own, I took a chance on the Solia flat iron too; my hair was damaged enough from daily straightening that I thought an upgrade might be worth it, and my Revlon straightener was on the fritz anyway. My hair is thick, so I usually straighten/curl in multiple layers so it takes longer than I should spend on my hair. But my Solia tourmaline ceramic flat iron heats quickly and is much more effective so I only go over my hair once. I can also tell a huge difference in my hair's smoothness, manageability, and health. Added bonus? The cord is long and kink-free to give me freedom, and even the tool itself looks elegant. My morning routine is so much easier thanks to Solia, and my hair is much happier. And yes, someone as frugal as me bought two fancy schmancy products. So. Worth it.posted May 19, 2011Link to this post

MaryHairBlondeDry HairFine or Thin HairMakes A Huge DifferenceI'm fairly new to using a flat iron....I don't have curly hair, and wanted it for the shiny hair I got, like when my hairdresser gave me, when she used one after a hair cut. I had tried a real cheapie, and had nothing to compare it to. My hairdresser used a Chi, but I was worried about the knockoffs out there. After reading reviews, I decided on the 1" Solia. It happened to be on "special", with a free 1/2" flat iron, and the heat pouch. The difference between this one and the cheap one is huge. This one is SO smooth and light. I use it after I shampoo, and after applying a dab of Biosilk. I have rather dry fly away hair, and it makes my hair look so healthy and with HIGH shine. I turn the ends under with the flat iron, and get all the curl that I want. It heats up very quickly, and I'm more than pleased with my purchase.posted May 9, 2011Link to this post

Kailen H.San DiegoHairAuburnDry HairCurly HairFine or Thin HairBest Iron Ever!I have been straigtening my hair for about 8 plus years, just about every day. I have bought 2 other irons before Solia, and they were about $120 each. I really liked them, but after having my last iron for 4 years I decided I should get a new one. I read the reviews and liked what I saw plus I really wanted one that could curl as well. WOW! This is by far the best iron I have ever used. Not only was the price so hard to pass up, my hair is so soft and I def have noticed less frizz!! My hair is wavy and frizzy underneath and this smoothed everything out. I love that the plates tilt back and forth with you hair instead of pulling and snagging my hair. If you are looking to buy a new iron or get one for the first time, def get this one!!

RamyaHairBlackOily HairFine or Thin HairAmazing!!!!I love my new Solia Flat Iron!!! Its amazing and gives great results. My hair is very soft after I straighten it and feels soo silky!!! Its light weight so my hands dont hurt when I have to straighten my hair :) !! Which is a major plus for a lazy person like me :P
This is perfect for Indian Hair and doesn't cause excessive heating or drying up of the hair cause of the temperature control. So far I have straightened it at 300 F, Am a little scared to try more than that as my hair is very fine. But overall I love this product and its just too good!!! I use it 2-3 times a week! :)posted Apr 22, 2011Link to this post
