AutumnMeh.I chose this straightener because of the rave reviews it got here. compared to the cheaper general value brand sold at sally beauty supply stores, it was not any better. (not the REALLY cheap ones) it goes over the hair more smoothly with no pulling, but doesnt improve the condition of my hair over the other straightener and straightens a bit slower and doesnt stay straight any longer. go get the gvs one at sally for $60 instead.posted Jan 2, 2009Link to this post

MichelleWorked Wonderful, Until...I really did enjoy this straightener. It worked amazingly, and I have very wild hair. A little over a year though, it just wouldnt turn on. I figure it has to do with the cord, but I dont care. It should have lasted longer.posted Dec 20, 2008Link to this post

ElizabethMilwaukee, WIBroke After Owning For 90 Daysworked alright for the 90 days I owned it. I have straight hair. I only used the iron to get my hair stick straight and smooth. Got it straight, but made my hair staticy. Went int eh bathroom to straighten my hair 90 days fater purchase. Nothing. No power. It has never been dropped, I dont wind the cord around the base. I took very good care of it, especially becuase it wasnt cheap. Now I have to pay shipping to return the product and send a money order for 9.95 to pay for return shipping for Folica. What a waste. Wish I would have bought a cheap one at the store. Would be way less of a hassle and it would probably still be working.posted Dec 9, 2008Link to this post

SarahLake City, FLHairCurly HairQuality Iron, Great For First-timerSo when I was looking to purchase an iron, I had never straightened my own hair before. Some guy in the mall was trying to sell me an iron for $200 and he was doing a demo and I really liked how well it straightened my naturally curly hair. However, I was not interested in paying that much for an iron I didnt know how to use and didnt think I would use much besides on special occasions. So after reading reviews on lots of products, I decided that the Solia was a good buy. Let me tell you, it is one of the best decisions I ever made!!! I love this iron and I use it way more often than I ever thought I would. Its easy to use and makes my hair look fantastic. I get so many compliments on how smooth and healthy it looks. If youre looking for a great iron at a reasonable price, this is the one for you.posted Dec 8, 2008Link to this post

ShannonIllinoisI've Owned Four Faulty Solia Flat Irons, And I'm Done. This is the fourth, yes, the FOURTH Solia flat iron I have owned, and while I agree that it does straighten hair extremely well, it is not a good long-term purchase. Of the four Solia flat irons I have owned, not one has lasted over one year. I continued purchasing them because Folica has a great replacement policy, but Im definitely done with this flat iron at this point. In fact, Im going to look for a new one (a different brand, of course) as soon as Im finished writing this review. The same thing happened to the flat iron every time - something would happen with the cord, and it simply wouldnt turn on after a while. Sometimes it would come back on if I wiggled the cord, but it eventually just died out. This happened to all four of the Solia flat irons I have owned, which is quite disappointing because I take very good care of my equipment. My advice: If youre going to use this occasionally, Im sure it would work fine and you might be able to get more than a year out of it. But if you like to flat iron your hair a couple times a week, this probably isnt your best bet unless you want to contact Folica and pay a replacement fee every time the cord malfunctions.posted Nov 21, 2008Link to this post

JuPAAfro-american Hair ExcellentI have two afro-american teenage girls whose hair is long, thick and curly. I have tried gold N hot flat iron and they snagged and were not worth the money. I heard a lot about CHI flat irons, but once I did the research found out that they had electrical problems. I FINALLY found my HAIR MIRACLE THE Solia 1" flat iron. Definitely recommend this product. It does not snag the hair, straigthens the hair smoothly, can get close to the shaft/root of the hair and a lot of heat is not needed. I would recommend this product to ANYONE!. VERY PLEASED AND WORTH THE MONEY. Thanks again SOLIA for a great product.posted Nov 18, 2008Link to this post

DaiquiriNot As Good As I'd HopedI bought this when my Sedu finally kicked the bucket. I had high hopes based on the review, but it just didnt live up to my expectations. Im returning it, spending the extra $40 and getting another Sedu. Those are awesome!posted Oct 20, 2008Link to this post

N.c. From PaPAResearched It, Bought It, And Loved ItThe iron works great, gets my hair beautifully shiny. I normally would spray CHI Shine spray afterwards on my hair to finish the look but with this great iron I dont even need to. Its a really great and cheap iron. It can def hold its own with the big boys without the large price tag. I had a paul mitchell iron and loved it but it broke...wouldnt turn on anymore. Really bothered me since it was expensive. So I didnt want to go with another Paul Mitchell, and heard the CHI irons burn out as well after some time. So I spent time researching different irons and discovered this product after reviewing MANY GREAT reviews. Im mixed, my hair has nice loose curls, my hair is thick and down to the middle of my back. This iron gave me FABULOUS shine without any sheen spray and worked as well as my Paul Mitchell. ALSO, want to say how GREAT this folica.com site is to order off of. My product came ASAP. It was AMAZING, great site and I just wanted to COMEND this site for the speedy delivery!!posted Oct 19, 2008Link to this post
