My Old Friend...I purchased my Solia straightener about 3-4 years ago, and have been very happy with it overall. I have fine, wavy hair that I have to straighten every day, so it was important to me to have a good, quality straightener that would not damage my hair too badly. It heats up very quickly and gives very smooth results. Every once in a while, a hair or two gets caught in the edges of the plates and gets yanked out, which is never fun, but other than that, I have very few complaints. Sadly, yesterday I smelled a very foul odor while straightening my hair and realized that there was smoke billowing out of my Solia. Needless to say, I decided it was time to retire my old friend, which is why I am back on Folica, deciding on which one to try next. Absolutely The Best I've Ever Used!I've been a Chi user for years, but I have definitely found a better flat iron for me. After going through several Chi's (they always seem to break just after the warranty expires) I started to look at other brands. This flat iron glides smoothly and effortlessly through my hair, making it not only straight but also soft and shiny..BEAUTIFUL! I ordered on 12/12 and received on 12/14, very fast & great customer service by phone when I called to ask about discounts. The only thing I dislike about this flat iron is how long the cord is- too long for me, but better too long than not long enough. This Sucker Lasts Forever!The solia was my first flat iron. I purchsed it over 5 years ago from folica. I used it almost daily for 3 years and still use it on occasion when I leave my chi somewhere. I think thats pretty good considering I have been told most flat irons only last 2 years if used daily. The only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is that sometimes my hair gets caught on it and pulls it out a bit but my chi does the samething more often then with this flat iron.posted Dec 14, 2011Link to this post

Works Great And Lasts Forever!I've had this flat iron for 6+ years now and it's still working great. I have wavy thick hair and it works better then any other flat iron I've tried. I Am Now An Ex-chi LoverMy entire family had CHI flat irons, and after two mysteriously stopped working I decided to try this kind. Needless to say, my two sisters, two of my roommates, and I now all own Solias! They work so great, even on thick hair! I have naturally wavy and extremely thick hair (So thick that I sometimes struggle to get a hair-tie to wrap twice around my pony tail) and this will straighten it in less than 20 minutes.
