Some FlawsI bought this flat iron TWICE! I loved it so much, the 1st time. However there have been a few changes made to the body of the iron that people should know about. The lips of the iron are thickly squared off around the hot plates making it difficult to get a smooth curl or bend to your hair. If you have an older model you know that the lips were not that thick and squared, making it easier to get a smooth curl and texture-without any lumps or bumps. Love It! I Take It Everywhere And Sometimes Use It For Clothes Too!I absolutely love this flat iron! It heats up quickly and the ceramic works so well. It makes my hair so soft after an ironing session.
FYI - it also makes a great quick clothing iron too. I have a cotton shirt with a ruffle collar that is very difficult to iron using a normal iron. The flat iron fits into the small sections perfectly. Since it heats up so quickly, I also use the flat iron to straighten out the front of a button up when I'm in a hurry for work in the morning.

Un-belie-va-bleThis flat iron is amazing!! Speaking of procrastination, I received this flat iron as a gift from a friend 9 years ago! Yes I know 9 years ago is another dimension of procrastination.. Lol... But seriously, this tool is the best. Makes my hair bouncy, shiny, and soft. This is the product which convinced me to do my hair myself cuz I thought if I can make my hair look this way.. Why go to the saloon, sit a long 30 min under the hot drier when i have lots to do!?! Right! So I started doing my hair on bad hair days then slowly picked up tools and products that suited my hair type and trust me when I tell you ... Love It!I have really thick wavy hair and I have been using a CHI flat iron for at least 5 years now..I finally got fed up with the amount of damage that my CHI was causing and the plates became loose and my hair would get caught in them and rip out. When I ordered my Solia flat iron I was so excited because it seemed like such a great deal! I got it in today and I am so happy with it. I mean of course it is still going to cause some damage just because anytime you put ANY kind of heat on your hair it causes a little damage..but this flat iron made my hair SO smooth and flat and was perfectly straight! Hate Flat Irons But I Love This OneFor years I bought inexpensive ceramic flat irons and I hated them. They always caught my hair in the plates or the area around the plates. Also, they didn't do their job. I basically bought this flat iron because it comes in red and thank God it's actually a good product. It takes maybe 15-20 minutes to flat iron my whole head of hair (very thick and wavy, shoulder length) and it looks smooth, soft, and my hair doesn't smell like I lit it on fire. Its An Ok Product But Didnt Expect It To Fall Apart Before A Month Went By. =/I take care of all my styling tools and leave them in their boxes and always clean them after im done using them and then i store them in a drawer.. I still have other flat irons and curling irons for 5 years and they are still in great shape and they never fell apart... Well when i got this and used it i liked it because it does make my hair straight and i have natural curly hair. but it doesnt do some magical thing to be like "oh my gosh". It doesnt make your hair silky and straight so dont expect that. It doesnt pull your hair which is a good thing and the price is not bad at all. The only thing i dont like is that the side of the name of the Solia in the button thing that is attached to it. Broke off really fast (Both sides) and obviously it had nothing to do with me doing anything to it because i take care of everything i own. So you cant reattach it because lets face it thats what cheap about this product. Then my best friend has the exact same thing happen to hers but she said hers happend not even the first week and her roommate had the same issue with hers too. So obviously its the company that makes it and doesnt do a good job having it stay attached, pretty cheap if you ask me and my friends. None of us tried to do the warranty thing because in general your paying money for some stupid button with the name of it when really its not that important to pay shipping to do all that dumb stuff, and its NOT worth the hassle..BUT in general i still like it and its worth it to use until you find something even more better. because lets face it theres going to be something way better down the road. The Perpetually Perfect Product.Many females go through various hair products, tools, straighteners, curling irons, etc.
I've done my share of excessive testing but when it comes beauty products. However, in regard to hair straighteners; this Solia one [don't know much about the company's other tools or products yet] is by far the best I've tried/owned/purchased.
(great for effectively straightening kinky curls as well btw!)

On Higher TemperatureI just posted a previous review when the Solia was on 380 degrees but now I set it to 410 degrees (I'm afraid of going any higher haha). My hair is less poofy now and the iron doesn't damage my hair much. However, I do wish this iron could make my hair more pin straight!
