Best EverAfter fighting my ugly curly hair all my life I finally bought a few flat irons in my day. I have had several and really didn't need another one until I read all the reviews on Folica.com. I decided to give this one a try and purchased it in November. I have put off writing a review until I was certain how I felt about it after using it for awhile. Well, I am very happy with it and can testify how great it makes my hair feel. All the other flat irons would slide through my hair until it got down to the ends and then it would pull. I have my hair trimmed every 6 weeks so I know it was not because of dry nasty ends. I read where a few ladys irons didn't last very long and they had to purchase a new one. I would just guess that sometimes that would just be a rare circumstance and if this iron quit working even tomorrow I would still purchase another one in hopes that I would have better luck with the next one. Super Shine!It used to be that I had to blow dry my hair before ironing it. Ironing wet hair with a flat iron not made to use on wet hair will singe it. But double heat processing really suck. I loved my Remington Wet2Straight but, with my longer length, I needed an iron with a wider plate.
Enter the Solia! I ordered mine from Folica and it's just bliss. It made my Asian dark hair super shiny and sleek. I can iron my damp towel-blotted hair with this and not have to deal with the hassle of double heat processing.

Awesome Iron But...I got my first Solia (1-1/4 inch) flat iron last December as a bday present to myself after reading a lot of reviews and doing comparisons with other irons. I left a review then too, because I really LOVED this iron compared to my older one (Remington wet to straight). Solia left my super shiny and I get compliments all the time! It knocked my straightening time in half and I'm done in under 15 mins (I have super curly, thick hair), and it works great in the summer time in humidity and my hair stayed straight for much longer! All of these compared to my old straightener. BUT the only thing is, it keeps breaking on me and I don't know why or how. The first one i got in December broke exactly 6 months after I got it, but luckily there was a warranty so I sent it back and they sent me a refurbished one. My second one just broke a week ago and I have no idea why!! I didn't drop it or it has never fallen or anything. Really upset with that, because it's such an awesome straightener! I feel that cheaper ones, even though they might not work as well, last much longer even with falls and drops. Hoping to sent it in again and get another one, but in the meantime I'm stuck using my Remington again. So, it's a great straightener, BUT it stops working randomly. Best Flat Iron Ever! :)I love this flat iron! I have curly, frzzy, dry, thick hair and this flat iron gets the job done. I have been using a Solia flat iron for 4 years. The ONLY complaint i have with this flat iron is, i am on my fourth one! Well, i technically havent gotten my fourth one, but its on the way. For some reason they quit working on me. Great, But Doesn't Last LongI have had two of these and both only lasted about a year. They worked great, but I wish they would last longer. My first one had been dropped a few times, so I assumed that it stopped working because of that. You Get What You Pay For...I bought this straight iron when my sedu iron's cord gave out. I loved my Sedu flat iron but didn't want to spend another $200 only to have the cord splinter again. So I went cheaper thinking based on the reviews the Solia will deliver as well as my Sedu did.
I was wrong. Look the Solia is OK it will straighten your hair but I found it created more flyways than I had when I straightened my hair with my old trust Sedu. And I don't think my hair looks as nice as it did when I used my Sedu.
But the Solia will work in a pinch. So I think what I'm going to do is order the Sultra Seductress (a lot of celebrities seem to use this straightener!) and use my Solia in a pinch.
Before you order from this site make sure you look for coupons. The coupons are saving me a little over $30 on my next order!

Awesome, I Love This Flat Iron.I use to use the Sedu iron. I've used that one for about 4yrs. Well i only bought this one because of the Xmas sale it was $50 bucks not bad. I figured i'd give it a try and at least have a back up flat iron. Well now its my #1 flat iron. I'm hispanic, and have very curly/frizzy dry hair...after using this, it was bone straight..my hair can't get any straighter...i love it! Amazing!I had a hot tools zebra print 1" flat iron...I had it for 1 year and after 6 months it started to break down. My hair got really frizzy and damaged and the iron burned my hair. I used my friends CHI for a while, but my hair didn't look silky. I got the Solia t...and it is 10 times better than the CHI. It heated up in 20 seconds and i straightened my hair in 8 minutes versus 25 minutes with the Hot Tools iron. 7 Months PostI am currently 7 months post relaxer on the fence about going completely natural. I have convinced myself if I can make it a year without relaxing, then I am totally in. Well upon purchase of my new Solia flat iron I am feeling extremely positive about making it a year. The iron leaves my hair extremely straight without snag or the foul burning smell many irons leave behind.
