Freaking Amazing.I bought myself a hai, and my mom a solia. My hai worked great but it was too straight, if you know what i mean. After a while it would make my hair stringy and gross. too flat. Then it stopped working properly. I used my mom's solia, and it's amazing! gave my hair volume, and lasted all day. Also did not make my hair frizzy or static-y like the hai. so amazing that i came on folica to buy my own, and just my luck that it's on sale for $59. Just Stopped Working!Before I bought the Solia I had a Chi for about 5 years before it died. I was going to buy another Chi but stumbled upon this product- the price and reviews seemed to be to good to be true... well come to figure out, it was! I had this iron for no more than 9 months before the thing just stopped working. It would not turn on- to get it to flicker on i had to hold it and push the cord in while twisting the cord. Just awful! Thank goodness for the 2 year warrenty- I will be sending it back to get a new one but from other reviews it sounds like this product is just a flop.... We will see. The Flat Iron That Kept Giving..Before getting this flat iron, i had i jibere which pulled and "dragged" my hair (which isn't what ya want!) Then one day my mom told me she ordered me a new straightner; showing me this Solia. I wasn't too sure about it so i read reviews on it and watched videos. It came in super quick and i had to use it right away! Words can't desribe how much different my hair felt, especially having really long hair. The split ends weren't to be seen as much.
Also, I am a cheerleader so it was always handy to slip it in a case and take it with me. Getting ready for games, everyone asked me to use my straightner and loved it!
A little over a year passed and it stopped turning on and i was back to the jibere :( I am proud to say that after looking through this website for a new flat iron, i'm going to stick with the SOLIA!posted Jan 16, 2012Link to this post -

Really Greati really liked my Solia flatirons but the only thing i hate is the fact that they went out not even in a year. I am buying the same ones again but this time i am sure to keep my receipt so that I am able to take them in WHEN they break again. This seems like a normal thing as far as the ratings go but for the price i think they are a great catch. I loooove loooove looooove them. I've Had A Solia For Over 6 Years. Best Investment Ever.My old Solia finally hit the bucket. This baby straightened my unruly hair every day all through high school and made it to my early 20's. With a final salute, I disposed of it and purchased another. For anyone in doubt about throwing down their money, this is definitely an economical investment. Straighter But Still Poofy Hair :(As an asian, my hair is REALLY thick and I wanted it to be straighter and less poofy. I use the solia at around 380 degrees with a heat protectant oil and my hair is straighter, but still very thick and poofy. As you can see, the before and after photos don't look much different.

Not HappyNot at all what I expected. My husband got me this as a birthday gift and I gave him hints that I needed new flat iron. My old one works, a Coriolis, works much better than this one and although that one only goes to a high of 250, it still gets hotter than this one, which supposedly is suppose to be 350. It takes longer to straighten hair and at the end does not leave it silky or shiny looking. My recommendation: Do not waste your money or time on this!posted Jan 12, 2012Link to this post
