The 1 1/2" for me is a perfect size. I have black wavy hair and it comes out super straight, I love it. Was Skepical At FirstWhen I first tried this iron, I was not impressed with the finished product. My hair was frizzy and puffy. I have very curlly hair and I thought that was the reason it didn't look good. So, I tried putting on a smoothing gel after I washed it and when my hair was still damp ironed it. Well, it turned out beautiful and I was so happy. It doesn't take long to straighten it, the iron gets hot fast . Now, after using the smoothing gel first my hair has shine and looks healthy. I love this iron and would recommend it to anyone who has curly hair. Good For A Short Time..I really liked this straightener and it worked well on my hair. It wasn't 100% and took some time, and I still have a frizz problem now and then. it was good for the amount of money, but it died after about 10 months. reading other reviews, it looks like this is a common problem. Comparable To Sedu!I loooove this flat iron! I bought it as a backup for my Sedu Revolution - which is very old and might break soon - and I find myself reaching for this more often. They're very comparable! I like the Solia flat iron better because it straightens my hair without taking away all my volume. It also makes my hair shiny! Absolutely Fabulous!!My previous flat iron was an FHI, and after having it for several years I finally broke after falling on a ceramic floor. I was sooo mad!! I did lots of research on my next flat iron and finally settled with the Solia. This was the best purchase I have made for my hair. My hair was so smooth and silky the first time I ran my hair through the flat iron. My hair also has alot of body and the body lasts for days.The process was effortless and unlike other heavy flatirons, the Solia is very light. I am so pleased with my purchase, I want to use it everyday....just because. Unfortunately I can't (not good for my relaxed hair.) I was also concerned with the size of the flatiron, but the 1 1/4" iron was perfect for my hair, which is an inch above my shoulders and its layered so I have some shorter pieces too. This flat iron exceeded all of my expectations!! It's All I Could Ever Want!This is an awesome flat iron! It heats up really fast, like less than a minute. There's a temperature control so you can modify the heat if you have fine or coarse hair. Best Flat Iron!I got this flat iron right before I got my second sew-in. I was trying to stretch my relaxer from 3 months to 4 at the time. I wanted a really good flat iron since I knew my new growth would be out of control and I'd have some leave out with the sew-in. I didn't want to write my review during that time, though, because I wanted to see what it would do on my whole head. Well it does a GREAT job at getting your hair straight! With the sew-in in, it got my hair straight so it blended well with my weave. The first day I did it after taking the sew-in down, I was skeptical because my hair looked a little frizzy...however, this was probably because it was about 90 degrees in my apartment! I re-did it two days later and it looks like I got a relaxer. My whole family actually thought I did get a relaxer in before I came home :) (I haven't had a relaxer in 3 1/2 months)
I also did my friend's hair with it. Her hair is natural and frizzes VERY easily and doesn't get straight easily. It turned out GREAT! She was so excited. I'd suggest this flat iron to anyone honestly. It will do wonders.posted May 16, 2011Link to this post
