Love It!Okay so i was kind of skeptical at first..because I have very thick and really tight curly hair/ I read all the reviews and thought okay i guess...so i ended up buying a Sedu which i sill havent used because i tried the Solia first..I actually got the solia free because of a special on Folica.com which made me even more skeptical..bc who gives away a free flat iron unless its crappy..well i was wrong it heats up within the first minute...it doesnt snag my hair at the end and it straightens amazing my hair flows and shines and it looks healthy..who would of thought..but this flat iron is amazing...now im excited to use my sedu..i will be back to show pics of both flat irons.If anyone has a bad review on this iron it's because they probably dont know how to straighten there hair correctly...honestly if this can straighten my hair..it can straighten any ones hair.posted May 2, 2011Link to this post

I Love This Straightener!I love this hair straightener! This was the first "professional" product that I've used as far as hair straighteners go, and it was expensive, but sooooo worth the investment! I only have to go over my hair once to get it straight, and it stays much smoother throughout the day that what I was used to previously. I used to have to straighten a strand of hair about 3 times to get it like I wanted, but then an hour later, it was poofy again. I really don't have this problem with this straightener. The first time I used it, I made my hair as frizzy as possible just to test the true capacity of the product, and it worked just like I had hoped it would! The Solia TourmalineI had the CHI for about three years and i just recently got the Solia. They're both really great, I can straighten, curl or make my hair look naturally wavy. The solia is nice because when I curl my hair it stays curly for longer and it feels like it protects my hair from heat better than the CHI. The CHI is better because it gets the roots, you don't need to press as hard when your straightening, the Solia is lighter and you have to press it closed really hard. Bottom line, they're tied when you look at performance but the warranty and price is what made the Solia better for me. If one or the other didn't do a good job on your hair, then don't waste your time and money trying the other one they're practically the same. P.s. for Canadian buyers they will charge you taxes when delivering it (which was a bad surprise for me).posted May 2, 2011Link to this post -

Hands Down Best Flatiron I've Usedthis is by far the best straightener i have ever used. ive been through 3 flatirons already and i can tell that this one is going to last me a long time, even only after 2 weeks of using it! I'm not a professional stylist, but i can tell that my hair retains so much moisture and the plates glide through my hair effortlessly. This Is A Must Have!!To date I have owned 3 other professional quality flat irons and this is the best one I have used so far. My most recent flat iron starting cutting off due to a short in the cord so I started looking for a replacement. I purchased this flat iron because of the great reviews, technology (ceramic and tourmaline) and the fact that it has a temperature control. I straighten my hair daily and I have some fine hair around my face so I had to have the temp control as to not damage my hair. Then I turn the temperature up to do the rest. I thought at first the increased softness and shine was due to the new products I recently started using (CHI Straight Guard and CHI Silk Infusion, I also highly recommend them) but the other day I had to use my CHI and noticed a difference in the texture and look of my hair. It was noticeably not as soft and shiny as it was when I used my Solia. I would highly recommend this flat iron to anyone without hesitation. I love it!!posted May 2, 2011Link to this post

Can't Say Enough Good About It!!!May 1, 2011: OK, I just ordered another Solia 1-1/4" after the one I bought June 3, 2005 finally went to heaven. My Solia ran perfectly for nearly 6 years and was used almost every day! Although it was mine, my two teen daughters used the iron alot because their drugstore-brand irons were so inferior. With what I spent replacing their irons over the years, I should have instead bought a second Solia. This flat iron never snags or pulls (I have fine, thin, gray, highlighted hair) and yet can do the hard work (my daughters have thick, curly, coarse hair). It's been dragged along camping, marching band, been dropped several times, been crammed in suitcases and sometimes left on overnight, but it still kept that even heat with a great recovery. I've had my hair up in a clip for a few days until I had time to place my order today --- I didn't shop around; I just came right back to Folica to buy another Solia! If I Use This Flat Iron, I Have A Great Hair Day!I have perfectly straight (a little above the shoulder) hair. I used to blow dry with a round brush to style my hair. However, one side would always flip out and the other would aways flip in. I didn't want to spend the money on an expensive flat iron, but I am so glad I spent the money on this! I typically just use it on the spot that flips the wrong way, and it looks great and stays all day! If I sleep on it wet, I will also straighten it in the morning.
