Amazing Results!!!I love this straightener! I have thin, fine hair but its naturally very frizzy and puffy. It takes about 45 seconds to heat and it has a flashing light to indicste its done heating up which i love too. It takes me about 20 minutes to get smooth, sleek, soft and shiny hair. This straightener is a life saver! I straighten my hair everyday, so it makes me feel better that it is actually helping my hair instead of damaging it. <br> My old flat iron was a conair which i had for about 1 1/2 years. Once i was finished, it looked good but by the end of the school day it was becoming wavy and slightly puffy again. But with the solia, my hair looks the same it did at 6 am throughout the whole day. I dont have to worry about anything. Plus, i love all of the fun colors it comes in. Definitely worth your money! Used For Years!I just recently bought a new one, because the same one I had for about 5 years broke (one of the metal pieces became unglued). This is the best straightener I have ever used, and even makes my hair look great when it's humid out. It lasted for a very long time, and I would have bought it again had it only lasted a few years. Straight But Burnt Smelling HairSO, i got this hair straightener because of the reviews. I didnt get the shiny look but my hair does look pretty straight, not pin straight. I know my friend who has a GHD and it is amazing! i felt like i should've just gotten that. I have to go through about 3x over a section until it becomes straight. I tried to set it to 360 but it takes longer so i always put it at the highest which is 425. Either way, it still makes my hair smell so bad! and the smell of the steam makes me sick, not nauseated sick but it makes breathing really awful! Even my husband complained about it. Now for curling the hair? it is such a pain! the moving plates is frustrating! If you plan on curling your hair with this, i suggest practicing so much. Either i still need to get a hang of it or i'll stick to a curling iron for that. I also used Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide Smoother that i bought from folica. It seems like putting it on my hair makes it a tad bit easier to straighten it. Curling and straightening without the redken makes it even more difficult.posted May 10, 2011Link to this post -

Great Valuemy first flat iron was from a drugstore and I should have know better. It was wimpy, needed several passes through the hair and didn't hold the hair straight in any kind of humidity.
I then did research and was about to buy the Chi when I saw the Solia. It looked every bit as good, heated to 400 degrees, came with a free heat pad/cover AND there was a $25 off coupon plus free shipping. So for all of $55.00 I got an amazing high end flat iron as compared to a $150 plus Chi.

Love This Flat Iron!!It's better than my Chi and way better than the Remington wet 2 straight that fried my hair! The Chi was actually pretty good and the only thing I didn't like was no temperature settings. I have fine curly/frizzy hair so I put in my hair products, then set the temp between 300 and 350 and only have to do one pass and it straightens it right out!
