Bye Bye Chi!I have ALWAYS been a CHI girl. When I passed down my 1" CHI Turbo to my friend, because I had opted for the 2" CHI Turbo because may hair was pretty long and I thought it would make the job quicker, I didn't think I'd be in the market for a flat iron for a long time. I recently cut my hair (Over 12inches) because it was getting pretty dry, lifeless and hard to manage...the 2" CHI made styling difficult because of the length. The 2" CHI had never preformed as well as my original so I thought I'd look into other brands for my new one... I am SO very HAPPY I did. The Temp on my Solia goes to 450'c, I have never had to put it past 370'c! My hair is so healthy and shiny after using this iron I just can't believe it! I am constantly getting compliments on how great my hair looks now. It was a great price to, less then half the price I paid for my CHI. I'm hooked for life! Best Flat Iron By Far!!I bought this Flat Iron 2 years ago. Let me just say I am tight with my money (college student). This was by far the best money I have spent for something I can use on my hair. 4 years ago I decided to go natural to get my hair to grow longer. I have very thick/course hair (4a/4b type hair for my natural girls out there). I never wear my hair at it's natural state (right after washing/co-washing). I count on this flat iron!!! It allows me to flat iron my hair once a week (wrapping my hair at night) and go on through out my day with no worries. I attend school in Houston where it is HUMID and HOT majority of the time. I go back home to Dallas in the summer!! Nothing hotter than Texas heat!! This flat iron is definitely the best I have ever had. Warranty Experience: My flat iron blew out while doing my hair in the middle of a storm (dumb I know lol). Like A Whole Lot Better Than The Chi!I had my Chi for five years, and one day it just fell apart, literately. I got a few options from friends as to what kind of flat iron I should get next, and I am glad they recommended this one! It is pink, which is awesome. And it works wonders with my hair, and I can set the heat so it wont be so hot that it will fry my hair. I worry about flat irons cause too much heat will damage your hair and I work real hard to keep it healthy. Love This Iron!I ordered this flat iron over 3 years ago and fell in love with it! After having it about 2 1/2 yrs it stopped working due to the cord getting bent (where it inserts into the iron) and it wouldn't stay heated....this was from me not always taking proper care of it and my son always wanting to play with it. I then bought another iron which doesn't work as well and I finally realized I needed this one again. I just ordered it 2 days ago and it's out for delivery today! Solia Vs. SeduAfter being a Sedu owner for 5+ years, I was annoyed that they kept breaking on me (electrical problem that a lot of Sedu owners seem to have) and decided to switch over to the Solia, since it had equally good of a rating. I think it takes some time to get used to the heavier/clunkier feel of the Solia...and the plates are smooth, but not as smooth as the Sedu. Like others, I don't feel the heat on my hair as much, when in use...BUT my hair has still come out straight and silky...a little bit more body and thickness (verus stick straight), but I like that since my hair has some body to begin with. So hopefully this iron will last longer than some of my Sedu's (some of which would fizzle out after 5 months!). I use my iron daily for a good hour or so since my hair is thick and curly. Happy so far with the results. (Also pleased that the iron is made in the US and not some foreign country, which is maybe why electrical problems happen).posted Apr 30, 2012Link to this post -

"must Have"I received my 3rd Solia flat iron last week and love it. I travel often for work and always keep one in the heat proof pouch in my suitcase so I never forget it. I also keep one in my bathroom to use each morning. One wore out so I had to order a new one since I cannot be without a flat iron. I prefer this brand over Chi. The temperature can be adjusted and it can be packed while it is still hot because of the heat mat/pouch. I don't use the iron to straighten my hair, but use it to add volume.
