Great Results, Even For A Novice!I just got this in the mail today and had to try it out. I was impressed with how quickly it heated up. I rarely use a flat iron (I go to the salon every week), but found it quite easy to use, and I was amazed at its' ability to straighten and curl. Now that I have this, I won't be in a lurch when my beautician is out of town and I have to do my hair myself. It's Straight!I highly recommend the 1 1/4" Solia tourmaline ceramic ion flat iron. I read about all brands and wanted a croc until I read about so many of them failing. I decided to try the Solia from Folica and it is amazing. I'm 61 yrs old and wishing I'd had this when I was 20ish! I've been getting by with a large curling iron and sort of straightening out the waves with that but it would catch at the hair and burn me and just generally get me irritated. The Solia grips without pulling the hair even though you're pulling it down along the hair shaft and that just blows my mind! I ordered the special that included a tote, heat mat and the Sedu hair oil. I would also recommend the Sedu; it puts a shine on the hair and smooths until it's soft and swingy. It says to start with just a drop about the size of a dime; don't assume you need more until you try that first because it really doesn't take much at all! Love!I was recently in the market for a hair straightener when my Con-Air Wet to Dry broke on me after only using it for seven months or so. I was looking for a good, yet fairly inexpensive product that would last me and would tame my weird wavy, thick hair. After researching the best products and features, I found this website and read through the reviews, watched some youtube videos on girls using the straightener and decided to purchase it. I thought if it didn't work, then I'll just return it and get my money back. I ordered it at like 12 am on a Tuesday and received it the next Monday.I used it that day and it made my hair soooo soft and I haven't really paid any attention to whether it's shiny or not. I even did a small section on my mom's hair, which was already straightened, and you could notice the difference between the small section and the rest of her hair. I love it sooo much so far. The only thing that I need to figure out is how to get my hair more voluminous and less flat. My hair is kind of heavy to begin with, so I won't just blame the Solia for this and I figure with time and the right product I'll work it out.posted Jan 24, 2012Link to this post

My Baby Finally Gave Out After Three Long Years, Just Ordered A New OneCame across this this October 2008 online, just had to have it. It gets as hot as you need it to, and as cool as you want it, super fast. I love how when I want super straight hair i can turn it right above 370 degrees, and when I want medium heat I just turn it below it. All my friends are jealous of it as well, that is until I finally died on me yesterday :(. During the end of its life span you will probably notice it flashing red (it's completely heated up) and going blank. So, sometimes I could get it to work, and sometimes not. Anyways.... it makes your hair feel amazing, it always left mine soft and smooth, and heats up very fast. Not to mention it's super stylish and fun to show off :). Definitely recommend over the Chi, since it always leaves my hair feeling like a burnt piece of straw, and that "unnatural" crispy straight look. If you need a straightener and want something cheaper and very similar to the Chi, but better for your hair, BUY this!!! :)posted Jan 20, 2012Link to this post

Love It!Love this flat iron! I have very thick, very course, very long, layered hair. My hair is pretty straight but I've got a couple annoying big waves throughout and lots of frizz. I don't know how I managed with my $20 Conair for so long. I had no idea what I was missing! After about 20 minutes, my hair is super straight with no frizz and really soft.
I was also able to curl my hair with this in about 40 minutes. Curls lasted all day. I've NEVER been able to have curls last more than an hour or so!posted Jan 19, 2012Link to this post -

Throw Away Your Chi!LOVE this iron! Got it on sale after the holidays; Folica always seems to be doing a sale on these. After reluctantly buying another Chi after mine just stopped heating up (my third Chi since 2006, they all seem to have this problem) I noticed that my Chi just wasn't cutting it; I have fine, pretty straight hair, which should be no problem at all for a Chi. Once I got this Solia iron, I see what I've been missing out on. It makes me hair SO SHINY, even though I am in desperate need of a visit to the salon. My ends stay straight, flipped in or out, ALL DAY LONG; with the Chi, after a few hours, my hair would go it's own way. Its OkThe iron definately keeps my hair soft when using it even at the near hottest settings. When I first recieved mine, it had pieces of hair in it, so obviously got a used one. Had I paid full price for it, I had better of gotten something new. I cleaned it off with alcohol and it works wonderfully. I'm only rating it 3/5 because of two reasons, first it still catches my hair although not as bad as other irons I've tried, and second, the disgusting pieces of hair stuck right in the iron. It was only a few pieces but still, I think I'll order elsewhere. Would rather pay a little more for a new one than a discounted used one that still works. Its clean now and working still, so I don't mind using it. Couldnt exchange because I don't have the receipt, and dont want to chance getting a defective one when this one works.posted Jan 19, 2012Link to this post -
