Solia 1-1/4" Flat Iron.This flat iron is better than the Chi, I think. Other ones I've used pinched my hair in the hinge or even the plates. Not only is the hinge on the far end of this, but the plates are spring loaded so that they don't grab your hair. It leaves my hair as shiny and soft as my stylist's iron - virtually no frizz on my super curly hair.

Best Flat Iron I've Ever Bought!I purchased this flat iron after my sister recommended it to me, and it is definatly the best one i've ever bought or used. I have thick, wavy hair and had always had a hard time getting it really straight. After straightening it with this iron, my hair had felt so soft and smooth and it was almost pin straight! An Awesome Straightener!I've had this flat iron for almost a year and it still works great! It keeps my hair soft and smooth. I also learned that you can make waves and curls, but when I tried to make the curls like the instructions said from the box, it made a dent in my hair-and it wouldn't come out. Ehhh...I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS FLAT IRON! Until, something terrible happened. I was straightning my hair & I smelt this TERRIBLE burning smell & I looked at the iron & it was melting. I sent it back the first time & of course Folica was so nice to send me another one! So I tried it out & the same excact thing happened, again. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I don't see how someone can straighten their hair wrong. My sister has the same iron & she loves it. Amazing Straightener - 7 Years RunningI bought this straightener in 2004 (7 years ago!) and I still use it today. It works amazingly, and for the price, you just can't beat it. Why spend $200+ on a straightener?? My sister bought one shortly after she tried mine and is still using hers today. Sraightens my wavy hair hair perfectly, never crimps it or pulls it out, and doesn't damage hair. You can even add a light curl to the end if you twist it. I even had a roommate borrow it, drop it, burn a hole through a plastic bag, even the plastic cover over the heat dial fell off, but it still works just as amazingly as it did on day one.

Lasted For 6 YearsSo my most recent Solia (black/blue) flat iron lasted for almost 6 years and finally power plug is dying. This was my second and I am about to purchase my 3rd. I use it every single day and it has always given me a great outcome. I have also recommended to friends and they have positive reviews as well. Great job on my hair, great price and dependable. Great For Curling!!Bought this and the Sedu about 2 years ago. Didn't see a major difference so I kept this one since it was about $40 cheaper. It gets my natural 4a/b hair very straight and I can get the bouncy curls full of body. I use my 1in Babyliss Pro TT to straighten my hair after I wash it and use my Solia to touch up and curl during the week. I've read that Ceramic is better for frequent use than Titanium is.
The Solia emblems on the either side of the handle fell off after about 10 uses but the heaters still seem to work great 2 years later. It's ability to provide shine to the hair w/o product has lessened since I first got it but, I always use a protective shine serum or spray anyway.
