AshleyHairBlackNormal HairColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairPink ParadiseI was pretty skeptical at first just simply because i've never heard of this brand before, but i absolutely love it. I flattens my hair pefectly, it's a little tricky to curl my hair but all in all it's awesome....The price is'nt bad either, don't let the name scare you away it is a really good flat iron and works great...posted Apr 14, 2011Link to this post

JessicaTampa BayHairDark BrownThick or Coarse HairWorth The Money!I have never spent "big bucks" (to me, over $30) on a hair straightener. And because of this, the ones I have had have lacked in quality. I have thick, frizzy hair and this Solia Flat Iron works magic on my hair! I love the way I can produce classic tight curls, bouncy curls, beachy waves and obviously, straight hair. And the style lasts, even through the evening. I am very happy with my purchase. I have had it for two months now, lets hope it lasts!posted Apr 13, 2011Link to this post

Chris D.Destin, FLBetter Then A ChiA few years ago my daughter wanted a Chi. I just couldn't justify the cost. I looked at all the reviews on flat irons and settled on the Solia Pink Flat Iron. She loved it! Her friends (who had Chi's) loved hers better. That was almost 5 years ago. I just bought a new one for my duaghter and I am taking her old one.posted Apr 7, 2011Link to this post

JamieVirginiaHairDark BrownCurly HairFine or Thin HairPerfect Back Up Flat IronI have been thrilled with my 4 year old Solia 1" flat iron purchased from Folica. Although it works perfectly, I wanted a back up just in case. I keep one at home and one in the gym bag. A wonderful flat iron...with my fine curly hair I needed to have an adjustable thermostat...this does the trick, and it is super light!posted Apr 6, 2011Link to this post

JenniferAtlanta, GAHairDark BrownCurly HairThick or Coarse HairChemically Treated HairCouldn't Ask For More!I bought this flat iron 4 years ago and it just died on me yesterday, I think that is pretty good compared to other flat irons. This iron gets really hot and leaves my hair straight until I have to wash it. I am mixed so i have really curly hair, I use a texturizer to loosen my curls and get my hair colored once a year. I wash my hair, condition it, rinse it REALLY well and then the only thing I put in it is Chi Keratin Mist while wet. I blow dry my hair with a Hot Tools tourmaline blow dryer with a comb on the end( this step really helps quicken the straightening process) and I only have to go over pieces once, sometimes twice. It takes me about 30 minutes to straighten my hair and my hair is about 3 inches past my shoulders. There isn't a bad smell really and I don't even use it at the max heat just to make sure I don't cause unnecessary split ends. When I use my Hot Tools curling iron after, my hair looks amazing, shiny and holds without product. I did drop it a few times and eventually the plates came out but then I glued them back in, it was working like new. It is small enough to get close to the root, I like to burn my scalp to ensure straight roots! No frizz, and perfectly straight hair, a little snag but not enough to notice. It's baby pink(my favorite color) another plus. My hair dresser says my hair is healthy so I will give some credit to my flat iron, quality hair products are REALLY worth it. Only negative is that my hair may look dry after, but it may be because of the products I use. Would recommend!posted Apr 3, 2011Link to this post

Yesenia L.Humid Navasota, TexasHairBlackDry HairThick or Coarse HairEnough SaidI just got this straightner yesterday, it has by far blown my expectations. I have the CHI and the Solia is not comparable to the CHI. It leaves my CHI in the dust. (BIG TIME)
Overall this product is fabulous, it took me 15 minutes to straighten my thick and course hair. With my CHI it would take me about 30 minutes to 45 minutes. The Solia does leave your hair shiny and soft. The CHI has never left my hair shiny nor soft.
I have a new Best Friend. I have heard complains about the falt iron dying within months,so I cannot testify to that particular testimony but I will keep everyone posted. So far very, very, very happy with my purchase.posted Apr 1, 2011Link to this post -
SophieIthaca, NYHairDark BrownThick or Coarse HairTerrible Flat IronI am the proud owner of a wonderful Sedu iron which I purchased earlier this year after hours of debating over the sedu or the solia. I was very pleased with my Sedu but when this Solia went on sale, I thought why not try it out. First of all, the package does not look professional, but looks like the box for a product bought in a sketchy knock-off china town store in new york. The iron itself is very cute and has a lovely color. I was immediately disappointed when I saw the type of button and dial that the iron has. Like the Chi (which I previously owned until the button MELTED...), the switch is fragile and not sturdy. The dial does not seem like it will last very long either. Ignoring these features, I proceeded to straighten my hair. Unlike the Sedu which makes my hair stick straight and gives it so much shine, the solia made my hair dull and took more time to straighten my hair. I was not at all pleased with the results. If you are debating over the Sedu Revolution or the Solia flat iron, I would highly recommend the Sedu, it is my savior. It has a sturdy build and just overall appears to be a much more legitimate product.posted Mar 31, 2011Link to this post

MaryValley Of The Sun (PHX)HairWhiteColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairJust What I Was Looking ForI felt I should write a review as there are so few of us "white/grey hairs out there! I'm a very fine haired grandmother who just recently started using a flat iron. The "bargain" I bought at TJ's is going into my back-up drawer, being replaced by the SOLIA limited edition 1" model from FOLICA. I LOVE IT!!! My hairdresser turned me on to the site (thank you, Judith) & I couldn't be happier with the results. My hair is very fine, color treated & has annoying natural wave. This iron creates a great look & really didn't even require any practice - it did all the work for me & produced great results. The price is so worth it.posted Mar 25, 2011Link to this post

StacyMarysville, OHHairMedium BrownOily HairCurly HairColor Treated HairThick or Coarse HairChemically Treated HairThird One , But So Reasonable In Price I Had To Buy!!This will be my 3rd Solia Flat Iron. My first 2 were the 1 1/4" from the top 10 list. Like another reviewer has mentioned all of her Solia's have died the same way. One day they just stop working and would not turn on. One of mine had a short in the cord and the other just died. Now don't let this sway you from purchasing! They work great and I used each one for about 2 1/2 to 3 years each and every day! I guess that is their shelf life if used every day. I am guessing that even the very expensive brands would do the same so I just assume buy this one again for the $53.99 total after my 40% off and free shipping! If you love to get a bargain for a great item like I do then you should def buy this brand! Pretty much $50 to $60 extra bucks in my pocket is worth it to me! Hope this is helpful ladies!posted Mar 24, 2011Link to this post

CheliHairBlondeColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairGo Solia!I have somewhat fine, very long, color treated hair. It is naturally wavy and tends to frizz easily. I have used a flat iron for years. I eventually bought a chi, and then after 1 year when the chi stopped heating, I bought a Solia 1" flat iron. Five years later, I still have it, and it still works great although through the years I have managed to put burn holes in the cord and I have a burn spot on the iron itself when I forgot to turn it off and left it on for several hours. (I tend to be a bit careless.) Anyway, despite all those things, the iron still works great, with no problems! The chi that I had cannot even begin to compare. I then bought this iron for 2 reasons. I love pink and because my other Solia is 5 years old, I wanted to have another on hand. I have more or less retired my old Solia and am using this one now. It works just as good as my first one. In my opinion, Solia is the way to go for flat irons. I will never buy any other brand. It heats up immediately, works great, makes my wavy hair straight and frizz-free. The irons are smooth, and do not "grab" your hair. It is the best! I would and have recommend this iron to anyone looking for a flat iron!
