Silky SmoothI have the curliest hair around town and this straightner is definitely worth the money. If you use the chi, the sedu is just as good and the heating pouch that comes with it has probably saved my house from infernos...I know irresponsible, but I forgot to turn off my sedu and left to work. I came back from work and realized I left it on and my house was still intact. This product is very high quality and light. I don't think you will regret buying it and if you do, you can always return it. No harm done:) It is a little pricey when you buy it but if you divide the many times you are going to use it in a year it comes out to be cheap. Folica is a great online store and is very trustworthy.

The Best Flat Iron For 4b Black Hair!!!!!!Words cannot express how excited I am about this product! I was always one of those people to poh poh'd spending a lot of money on a flat iron. In my mind, a $30.00 flat iron was the same as a 120.00 one-big mistake. I took the plunge, read reviews and decided to purchase this product and it is the best styling tool I have ever used. I am African American with tightly curled, thick hair that I generally relax every 4-6 weeks. I decided to stretch the time between relaxers to give my hair a break and this tool has made this possible. I run this little baby over my roots and within one pass, my hair is sleek, shiny, and straight. I NEVER thought I could get these results without a relaxer! It is truly amazing, and the fact that the plates will not damage my hair makes it even more appealing. I am currently 8 weeks post relaxer and my hair looks amazingly healthy, manageable, and strong. I highly, highly, highly recommend this product for all hair types, but I wanted to take the time to expressly emphasize that this product WILL work for African American hair. Sedu is an excellent brand, and I have also purchased the Sedu 4000i blow dryer which is just out of this world. I actually enjoy doing my hair now. Invest in this-you will not regret it and you will be pleased with all the money you will keep in your pocket instead of going to the salon and spending all day for results that will not last. Decent Straightener, But Not The Best.I bought the sedu in Feb 2010 and have had it for about 11 months now. When i first started using it, the sedu would leave my hair really shiny, straight and frizz free...but i was looking for a flat iron that would leave it dead straight even during humid or rainy days, or a night out at the club. I have very curly/frizzy hair and this flat iron doesn't deliver that for me. I blow dry first, then straighten and I find that my ends do not flatten and look horrible. Mind you, if you have normal to wavy hair you will love it as it does deliver when it comes to straightening. It heats up fast, it has variable heat controls and the plates do not tug or pull and glides softly through the hair. I have NOT had the cord issue other girls have experience, with 11 months of continuous usage (my sis and i both use this). I do not recommend wrapping the cord around the straightener as that may be the issue. All in all, its a great tool and delivers results but I want better. Works Miracles.........for About A Yeari heard about this iron from my friend. i got it and it worked great, but only for about a year. the cord gets messed up and it won't go anywhere near as hot it used to. at one point it would make my hair silky and perfectly straight, but now it does a bad job. ive had to replace it under warenty because it didnt even last a full year. i would NOT get this straightener again.posted Jan 17, 2011Link to this post

Pretty Greati have tried so many flat irons over the years, i have extremely curly hair of a decent length and it is normally very difficult to get my hair to look straight and smooth. my hair is also very fine, so it breaks easily when over treated or over styled. After trying the sedu pro ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron (1"), i was very impressed with how sleek and straight i could get my hair and it took alot less time than most other straighteners. :) It also did not damage my hair nor break it much at all. This has been the best flat iron i have owned so far. I love it. There is only one small complaint i have which was quite a disappointment. The chord on the flat iron is not a swivel chord, it would get all twisted and raveled while i used it and after only having it for about six months the flat iron would shut off while i was using it. Everytime the chord got a little kinked the power light would turn off and the plates cool off quite fast. =( I had to keep fiddling with it to get it to stay on long enough to do my hair. i must say that i found it very irritating at times. But overall, this flat iron is a great choice. I just think that all products like this should have swivel chords.posted Jan 11, 2011Link to this post

Awesome So Far!!I purchased this SEDU flat iron a couple of weeks ago. The first thing I love about it is the temperature setting option. I use the lowest setting, and it still straightens perfectly.It definitely reduces the styling time, because it works so good. What I don't like is the fact that when I wake up the next day, my hair is completely curly/wavy again, so I have to straighten it all over again and that is tiresome on an every-day basis! But I guess that is my hair's problem, not the straightener. The plates are extremely delicate, I accidently rubbed them against each other and they got scratches. Another PRO is that regardless of the weather, your hair is still straight. I absolutely recommend it as a great buy!posted Jan 9, 2011Link to this post

Stop Looking, This Is The One!After using other high end products, I found the perfect flat iron. I read the reviews and gave the Sedu a try. Boy, am I pleased. Sudu leaves my hair straight and shinny. What else does a girl want from a flat iron.
I have long haitr and find that using a 1 inch iron allows me to have more control, especially next to the roots. I have very curly hair, but get the Keratin treatment done every three months. My hair is more managable, but still curly if left to dry naturally.

The Best!!!ok so i bought the 1 inch because i wanted to be able to curl my hair. This flat iron is amazing, it adds shine and it makes it look healthy.It also makes my hair feel really soft.. It makes hair really straight . I am very pleased with this iron.

Fantastic!After years of buying $30 straighteners I found this one on-line. I checked many out and found this was rated a top-choice of #1 pick from Allure Magazine. I found a sale on it through Folica.com and ordered for Christmas for my girls and I. It is the best flat iron I've ever used. It shortens our time in straightening (compared to prior) and our hair feels like it does after we leave the salon which is exactly why I wanted a product like this. It is better for your hair because of the technology it uses.
