Almost Perfect!I purchased this flat iron to replace my old ceramic Infrashine iron. My last iron worked very well and has lasted constant use for 3 years...my daughter used it every day too. However, I recently noticed that the ceramic plates seem to pulling or snagging my hair. I suppose that they have some small nicks or cracks that are causing this. No problem for my teenage daughter, who has thick red hair, and continues to use it...but for me, I have color treated hair and cannot really afford to have my hair pulled out. My stylist suggested tourmaline, she said it would keep my frizzy hair smoother and the plates would glide over my hair with less damage. So, after hours of research on which one to buy, I purchase the Sedu. It works wonders!!!! I can truly tell the difference between the old ceramic plates and these tourmaline plates. I only need to pass the iron once or twice, and only on 350 degrees and my hair is smooth and silky...it truly glides over the hair, no pulling or snagging. I don't even need touch up during the day, and sometimes not the second day. I am thrilled with my purchase, and I hope it works for a few years. My one and only complaint is the lack of the swivel cord...which is only necessary when curling the hair. I does a beautiful job on curling the hair, which I only have done on my daughter's longer hair. But, the cord begins to get all tangled up because it does not swivel. Worth The MoneyI've had this flat iron for [almost] three years straight! Worked like a charm: 1) it doesnt make your hair frizzy and dry feeling like most straighters do, IT REALLY DOES make your hair feel silky =D (and Shiny too!) xD 2) it doesnt snag or pull on any of your hair, but still straightens great (curls wonderfully also =P) 3) it's easy to hold and it's not heavy (AT ALL) cuts straightening time by ALOT Only gave it 4 stars because until the third year I've had some trouble with it turning/staying on 0_0 and now it's finally broken T-T was hoping it'd last for another year or so =(posted Apr 25, 2010Link to this post

5 Years And Going Strong! Best Straightener I've Ever Used.I bought this straightener 5 years ago and it's still as great as the day I bought it. I don't know many straighteners that can last this long. My sisters all have CHI's but in my opinion, the ceramic plates on my Sedu are way smoother and NEVER snag my hair. Occasionally I'll have to use a CHI and I always miss my Sedu. I have wavy/curly hair that has a lot of texture, but if I move the sedu slowly down each section of hair, I only have to use one stroke as opposed to several strokes on each section with other straighteners. Okay Flat Iron (sedu)I've had this Sedu for over a year now. It works okay. I don't know why they haven't come out with a version that had an automatic timer or auto turn-off like a iron (the kind you would use for your clothes do). I've left my Sedu on for a whole days several times. I think the iron doesn't get as hot as when I first got it. I don't know if that's due to leaving it on for over 8 hours or not. Great Hot IronI am a former CHI owner. After my second CHI broke (it has been like 4 or 5 years) I decided to try something new. I had read good reviews about this one. It has not disappointed me. I love the temperature setting. I wouldn't say it straightens any better than the CHI did. I like the CHI but I also like Sedu. The only thing I do not like is that I can't hold on to the plate part of the hot iron while I am straightening my hair. Sometimes I like to use both my hands by holding on the hot iron. It is WAY too hot to hold on to. But that really isn't that big of a deal. I just need to learn how to do it better with one hand. Shiny Hair, But Worked Only 1 Year And Broke My HairWhen I received my iron 1?جø¬? year ago, like many I didn't like the cheap look of it. Using it, though, I had good results on my really thick and long blond hair. It was straight and VERY silky, which is unusual for my hair. I used it around 2 times/week. I need a new flat iron now because for the past couple of months, it doesn't work as well anymore (my hair isn't as straight and silky anymore, even with a good cleaner for my iron). I will definitely not buy this one again because: - my hair got really thin and broke a lot, even with the use of a heat protectant - not worth the money for just 1 year of good results - gets really hot outside, you can not style with both hands and curl your hair easily because of that Now I will try a 100% ceramic flat iron, not coated, to protect my hair better. Great Straightener, Maybe Worth The Money.I like this straightener a lot, but it seems a little costly (even marked down!) for its quality. It doesn't eliminate the frizz on the back of my head but everywhere else it's fine. It also makes a terrible squeaking noise sometimes when I use it. Definitely not a great sound. Not What I ExpectedI am returning this product as it does not do anything for my hair. I am AA and I have been natural for over 10yrs. I wanted to get away from the original hot comb and try a Chi. I read reviews for the Sedu and thought I could save a few dollars vs the Chi the salon used on my hair. Going with a Chi, get what you pay for.
