My First Flat IronThis is my first flat iron. My hair is naturally straight. I used to use a curling iron to curl my hair but it didn't go too well. My hair dresser suggested I can try a flat iron and it really produced long lasting curls (normally my curls will disappear by the middle of the day with my cheap curling iron). The flat iron glides through my hair without any pulling and it didn't damage my hair at all. Also it heats up very faster, about 30 sec or so.posted Jun 23, 2010Link to this post -

Had No Idea What I'd Been Missing!I am in love with my flat iron! I had only used a couple of cheap Walmart straighteners before. I used to think that high dollar straighteners were just a money racket. I had no idea what a difference there was! It is completely worth the money in my opinion. If you are considering an upgrade, DO IT. Spring for the SEDU, practice with it, see the results.. you'll be so glad you did! (And your hair will thank you for reducing heat-styling damage :) I like the 1 1/2 inch iron because I can straighten or curl easily. It heats up very quickly. I like the long cord. Not Bad, But The 1 1/2I bought this flatiron 2 years ago after seeing all the great reviews. I debated between the 1" and the 1 1/2", but decided to go with the 1" so I have the option of using it for curling. Before this, I had owned many other flatirons. The Sedu 1" iron did not meet my expectations. After receiving it, I realized that curling my hair with a flatiron was almost impossible considering the length of my hair (I have thick long hair). I compared the iron to my friend's 1 1/2" Sedu flatiron. The 1" did not work as well as the larger one in terms of straightening my hair. I stuck with it for 2 years. A month after my 2 years warranty was up, it stopped working. I called Folica to see if they could give me a break on the one extra week, but the representatives told me they would only give me a $20 discount on a new one. The worst part of that is, it was the same week Folica already had the $20 off any Sedu flatiron. I told them that and they said that was the only thing they could do. It Does My Hair Good!!I have this model and loved it!!!the only problem is, my first Sedu just stopped working, luckily, it's under warranty, then I got the replacement but, the screws just came off after a few months of using it!! Good At First, Now Having Problems.I've had this iron for about 8 months now. When I first got it I really liked it. It straightened my hair very well. Then, after only a few months of use, and taking very good care of it, it broke. I can still use it, but it only will straighten if I do a large chunk of hair at a time. Otherwise, it doesn't grab my hair (i.e: The iron doesn't close completely). I have no idea how this happened because I never dropped it or anything. My sister has the same iron & hers also broke after a few months. Great Flat Iron!I got this flat iron about 2 months ago and love it! It makes my hair feel soft and silky after straightening. I must say I was expecting it to be better than it is (has caused breakage in my hair and the shape is different which makes it difficult to curl) since it was so expensive, but I have enjoyed it. Had To Resort To My Old Flat Iron!THIS IS THE WORST FLAT IRON I HAVE EVER PURCHASED! I am African American with thick long hair that almost reaches my behind. My hair is wavy and frizzy, but usually very easy to flat iron. This flat iron fried my hair, left my ends feeling dead, and as soon as I went outside the humidty caused it to puff up! I had to pull out my trusty HAI Stick to salvage what was left of my hair. Immediatley after using the Sedu I knew my hair was not as straight as I usually get it. Way Better Then Ozon Naughty Girl Flat IronOkay I've had this flat iron for literally years! I love it! But I "wanted" a new flat iron so I tried the Ozon Naughty Girl Flat Iron, like many people have said it works great for curling your hair, but I can't see buying a flat iron for curling.
