Best Friend For Natural Hair!!When I was looking for an item to purchase, I didn't see very many reviews by African- Americans with natural hair. To give you an idea, I have kinky, coily, nappy hair. And I'm proud of it!! But man is it hard to get a straight look ( the three times a year I actually want it) without frizz and frayed ends without causing heat damage. The SEDU gave me awesome results!! I also purchased the SEDU revolution blow dryer. So I did use a combination of products. But during the flat iron process is where I really saw my hair come alive. The heat control allows you to determine the temp which is excellent for nappy heads. I used 360 and got my results so there is hope for kinkier or coilier heads (its still necessary to use heat protectants). But the truth is, the other reviewers aren't lying when they say it actually makes the hair look healthy and shiny. Its amazing! So for the natural girls that want to have different look this week, go for it. And if you have a looser texture, then you know that you can get your hair straight (and definitely straighter than mine) if I was able to achieve great results. Sorry my pics were too big to upload. Love, Love, Love It!I have tried many hair straighteners and this is by far the best one I have ever used! My hair is wavy and fairly thick so it normally takes at least 1/2 hour to get my hair straight, it took 10 minutes with the Sedu. I only had to run the straightener across my hair once and it was straighter than I have ever gotten it before. I live in a pretty humid climate so I have had trouble in the past keeping my hair straight throughout the entire day, but not now, the Sedu kept my hair straight all day, I never had to touch it up! It also made my hair feel so soft and healthy and it looked very nice and shiny! I don't know how I ever lived without it, I'm just so happy that now I don't have to! Love My SeduPrior to purchasing the Sedu I tried other flat irons and I can honestly say this is a quality product. My hair is natural, THICK, long, but soft and in the summer humidity is my cryptonite but the Sedu COUPLED with the straightening comb appliance works very well. The key to really getting the full value out of the Sedu is to use it with the straightening comb simultaneously. I am very satisfied with my Sedu. Finally - No More Pivoting Cord!Love the product. 3rd one I purchase. The first 2 had to be replaced because there was a problem with the pivoting cord. Now that they've replaced the cord with a regular, non-pivoting one, it should last even longer than the 2 years the previous ones lasted. A Must BuyThis flat iron is the best I have ever owned by far! its light easy too use and the results are spectacular! My hairs comes out sleek and shiny and sooo straight. and it stays that way too! Although no straightener with prevent split ends this one dosnt do too much damage. I recommend using a heat protectant no matter what the flat iron. This straightener really works great. My Beauty Must-have!!!!I've used the Sedu for a little over 2 years now, and I absolutely love it! Before the Sedu, I usually went to the salon every two weeks and paid $30 to have my hair done, which didn't last as soon as I washed it. I haven't been to the salon since I got my Sedu. I'm half black, half white and my hair is curly and medium thick, yet it can get very dry and the Sedu has literally changed my hair. My hair has never been softer and shinier. People ask me all the time where I get my hair done, and no one can believe I do it myself. I also use the Sedu to curl my hair. I was always the girl who could never do her own hair, but after a lot of practice with the Sedu, I've become an expert. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't look as you expected the first time you straighten. Use it for a week, and you'll notice the difference. Practice with the Sedu until you figure out how to curl your hair, believe me it takes time. There are also tons of videos on youtube. Very Good Flat IronI have waited a few years before writing a review of this flat iron in order to give a true judgment on it. It does a great job straightening my thick, mixed (asian+black), curly hair. In the past I had bought flat irons from WalMart because I was so cheap. But those irons never failed to fry my hair. The Sedu is not so harsh on my hair (though currently I have beaucoup split ends, but that's because I haven't had a trim in a long time). I like the Sedu because it's lightweight, easy to handle, and heats up quickly. I also like having the heat proof pouch...very convenient for traveling. The price is a bit high, but is worth it since it will probably last several years. The only downside of this iron for me is that I have to iron most sections of my hair more than twice to get it smooth and straight at my ideal temperature setting...I can iron 1-2 times if the iron is hotter, but then my hair gets that heated hair smell.posted Jul 18, 2010Link to this post

Good But Not For My Type Of Hair...I have coarse 4B African American natural hair that is amazing! I bought this flat iron a few days ago and used it once. It just didnt work. If I had a relaxer, I feel that it would have made my hair blow in the wind! My hair was frizzy in 10 minutes because of the humidity and just flat out looked horrible. I do like that the flat iron did not damage my hair at all even on the highest setting. I poured water on my head (lol) and it went right back to a fro with no straight pieces.
