It's Ok...I was super excited when i got it in the mail...and tried it right away. It straightened my hair....and that's about all. My hair didn't look any more shinier or feel silkier than it did before =/ The only plus I noticed was that it didn't snag my hair like the hot tools straightener, which I bought 5 years ago (and still works)...did. This Thing Works Like Magic..how To Preserve Your Flat IronMy first sedu stopped working within a year of owning it. After about a year of owning it.. it begin to turn on and off during usage. I assessed the flat iron and realized that the cord was the problem... not the actual flat iron. I'm on my 2nd flat iron (has lasted 2.5years). I've treated the 2nd flat iron differently from the 1st. I basically store the flat iron cord in a loose fashion... which has preserved the cord life(flat iron life span). You are NOT supposed to wrap your cord around the item. If you wrap you cord tightly around the flat iron... your cord's lifespan will spiral downward. Store your cord loosely. If you leave your flat iron ontop of the counter, bunch it up loosely... or let the cord fall/rest onto the floor. Under no means should you ever tightly wrap the cord. That's a huge no no. The Best Flat Iron I've Ever Owned...seriouslyI was a little skeptical about this straightener at first, but after my last one exploded (no joke) I was willing to give any legitimate brand of flat iron a try. I tried it out the moment received it in the mail, and I've been in love with it ever since. My favorite part is that it doesn't pull my hair like my other flat irons have, and it makes my hair incredibly SHINY! Works Great....until It Doesn't Work! Beware Of Short Life SpanI bought this flat iron based on Folica.com reviews about two years ago after the cord on my 8 year old Chi finally started separating from the unit (still works to this day, tho). I LOVED the Sedu when I got it and recommended it to everyone, including my stylist who in turn started recommending them to her clients. Now I feel very sorry that I recommended this product. Last week it completely stopped working. I didn't keep my receipt so I can't return it (my fault, clearly) but I figured maybe it was a fluke....until I talked to my sister-in-law, who bought four Sedus (one for herself and each of her daughters) after she tried mine. She told me that all but one of theirs has stopped working. This product, while it does a GREAT job, is waaaaaay too expensive to have that short of a life span. Although I preferred using the Sedu, I will go back to Chi now since it is clearly a better manufactured product (I know the Chi is made in the USA). If you buy this product I promise you'll love it......at first. If you think $120 is a reasonable price to use this product for a year or two, you'll be satisfied.posted Oct 7, 2010Link to this post -

It's OkayThis straightener is okay...It's a lot smoother than the Andis iron I had before (the best drugstore icon IMO), but the results are kind of similar. Maybe my hopes were too high but it's a decent straightener. The fact that there's no swivel cord REALLY bugged me after a while since the cord gets all tangled up. The heat-proof bag/mat isn't really anything to get excited about, and I kind of have to clean hair gunk off the sides quite periodically.
Since I rarely straighten my hair, this was a good investment for the long term (the Andis one only works on one heat setting after two years)...or at least I hope! But I probably wouldn't buy this iron again (I only bought it because of the amazing deal)

Best Flat Iron Everi've had the flat iron for 3 year its the best investment I have ever made. I would highly recommend it to everyone who it looking for a great flat iron. I wash my hair and let it air dry and once its dry then I flat iron it IDO NOT BLOW DRY MY HAIR. I wait until my hair is completely dry could take a couple of hours before I use flat iron. Kind Of Dissapointed.The flat iron itself, is great, but besides that.. The cable. i have no idea... how to explain this but, i turned on my 5 month old sedu 1 inch... and it didnt turn on for longer than 2 seconds, this is the first time it happens to me, i have no idea what happened to it, but i think i'll use the warranty then sell it to a friend and buy a CHI or Solia. This was kind of sad, i was kinda happy with it, it took me long to straighten my long hair sometimes cus its only 1 inch but the heat is perfect.posted Sep 20, 2010Link to this post
