Love It But Will Not Last.I love this straightener and it is such a shame but it only lasted me a little over a year. The wire needs to be redesigned like they have the curling iron clip-less barrel which I recently purchased and love it. I am currently looking for another straightener and if they would have re-designed the cord and wiring because that is what will go out on you to have the swivel cord as the curling iron did then I would have repurchased. An Investment For Your Hair!I didn't recently purchase this flat iron. I've had it for over 5 years now and still use it everyday without any problems! I decided to do a review after I purchased the CRICKET Q-ZONE Hair dryer.
I cannot stress in words about how much this flat iron is the BEST iron you'll ever purchase. I have several flat irons including CHI and Paul Mitchell. All which are back under my sink because the CHI doesn't compare or come close to the SEDU.
It does not pull out your hair, glides smoothly, no BURNING smell, leaves hair shiny and still manageable not the STRAW feeling the CHI leaves.
BUY THIS FLAT IRON! You won't regret it or want to be another brand.

Absolutely Amazed!This is the straightener that I've been looking for for a long time! No exaggeration, this is the best flat iron that I've ever used. No, I'm not just saying this for the sake of saying it. If it didn't work, I'd say so, but it is simply incredible. My dad saw that I had been looking at it and, very generously, bought it for me for an early Christmas present. I just received it today and wow...Just wow. I straitened my hair at around 12 and I was impressed by how strait my hair was. My hair is always very reluctant to straiten and it can be very stubborn. This flat iron tamed each section of my hair with hardly any effort at all. It was completely strait, not a wave or curl in sight. Not to mention how smoothly it glides over my hair! The plates on it work wonders to preserve my hair. My hair has no fly aways and is so soft and smooth that I just cannot stop touching it! It's been 6 hours since I flat ironed my hair and it is literally as strait as it was when I first did it! Power Cord ProblemsAt first, I gave this flat iron a 5 stars. I bought one for my mom, sister, and gf. However, a year and a half later, it only works if the cord is at a certain angle. I'm so disappointed because I love this flat iron. After this replacement, I'm sure it'll break after my warranty. I've also had one that had the same problem out of warranty, and now, it's just sitting on my counter. I can't bear to throw it away yet. haha! Perfect! Until The Chord Broke...This straightener was literally THE best straightener I've ever used. If you are coming from a drug store straightener it will run throughout your hair soooo smoothly and not pull any hair out. after a while your hair will even start to feel healthier! This straightener instantly makes your hair feel soft and silky without completely frying your hair!
HOWEVER I only had this straightener for 8 months before it began to only work a certain angles and would turn off if the chord was not at the right spot because there is no swivel base chord!...now it is completely broken, but there is a 2 year return policy I intend on using!

Sedu Vs. HaiI've been using the much-touted Sedu Pro Ionic Tourmaline Straightener for the past year with mixed results. I am half black and I relax my hair but I don't get it to the point where it is completely bone straight. Therefore, i have to constantly straighten my bangs less they look like a big frizzy mess in the front of my head. Since I chemically relax my hair and straighten my hair a lot, I like to use the straightening iron on a low temperature. The Sedu works well for straightening the chemically relaxed portion of my hair but it has been 12 months since my last relaxer and therefore I have a lot of "new growth." The Sedu leaves me with half straightened hair (the relaxed portion) and half fuzzy hair (the new growth portion). Even as I crank the temperature up to attempt to get the new growth portion of my hair relatively straight, it still wont get completely straight or even adequately straight. I've used the straightener on my friend's thick mexican wavy hair and it seems that the Sedu tends to straighten the hair only to the point of giving it a straight natural look (as in it doesn't leave the hair silky straight). I've recently purchased the Hai Convertible Straightener that seems to lack the technology the Sedu has BUT i used it for the first time today and it got my bangs silky straight from root to tip and was used at the same temperature I normally use my Sedu at. I had long figured that the Sedu was the best option out there because of its reputation on this site, its higher price point, and the added technology, but alas this has not been the case for me.posted Dec 14, 2011Link to this post

A Mazing!I love this straigtener. I recently purchased it after having a Solia for two years, which was fine until it broke. I got a really good deal on this and was pleasantly surprised. A few of the reviews said a few bad things about this straightener but i have noticed no problems. It glides right through my hair compared to my Solia, which sometimes snagged in my hair. Shiny Straight Wonderful Hair With SeduNot so good for curling with a straightener because it is thicker.
The temperature doesn't go as high as my old one, but it seems it doesn't matter as it works better. I still use my older one to curl it. But I use my Sedu pretty much daily and get tons of compliments and it takes me no time at all straighten my hair.
I definitely believe in good quality hair tools, you get what you pay for after all and this is worth every penny.
