Love It!!I've had this flat iron for two years and I adore it!! The chord is really long, so you can plug it in your bathroom, but you don't necessarily have to stand by the sink. It is also very durable; I've dropped it a few times and it's in perfect condition! I also tend to straighten my hair when it's not completely dry, but the plates are just fine.. Best Straightener I've Ever Used!My hair can take me up to an hour to straighten and it never looked all that good when I finally got it done. But my Sedu straightens my hair in less than 10 minutes and I get so many compliments on it now! I love that it gets hot enough to straighten my curly/coarse hair. No complaints! It Worked But Not Like I HopedI am african american with thick curly un-permed nor relaxed or dyed EVER hair, and I tried this because I read the reveiws saying how good it works from girls who i thought shared my hair type, and it does work, but I owned a Cortex that did my hair better than this, and the plates didn't need cleaning as often as this. it does make my hair shiny, but it doesnt get it pen straight like my KQC, or my almost 5 year old cortex, i eventually stopped using it, then i came back, and nothing changed/ Both times when I would straighten my hair, it made my roots scrunchy frizzy, and not smooth at all, I was disappointed. Nice, But Have Seen Better, And Had To Keep Getting It Replaced (ugh!)This is a nice flat iron, but not spectacular. Seems a little overpriced for what it is. Additionally, I had two in a row that I had to replace because they died. If you are going to spend this much money on a flat iron, I reccomend looking somewhere else. Best Flat Iron EverI've had this flat iron for six years and it died this morning :( I feel like I've lost a friend! It hung in there to give me one more perfect style, but as I was finishing up the rubber on the cord split in a tiny spot & sparked - so sad!! Let me be clear - this is in no way a criticism of Sedu's craftmanship - IT WAS SIX YEARS OLD!!! Considering I've used it 3-4 times a week during that time, this iron has been a trooper!
Most important - it gives me awesome hair! I have naturally wavy hair that gets ultra-frizzy in humidity and this gives me beautiful, straight hair in a single pass. I've recommended it to so many friends and I will definitely be purchasing a new one!posted Last weekLink to this post -

Best Straighter Ive Useddefinitely the best flat iron ive used. ive been straightening my hair for over 10 years, and ive seen my fair share of straighteners, but this is definitely the best one ive used (better than chi!) it gets hot very quickly (you can choose what temp you want-i used the hottest setting- 415 degrees), doesnt snag my hair at all, and is overall a smooth process. it gets hot enough that it cut my straightening time in half, and i have long curly thick hair. it left my hair very shiny and soft, and a lot of people even noticed the change from the first day i started using this. the price is definitely proportional to how amazing this iron is. this is a great product and ill never use any other straightener!posted Last weekLink to this post

Please Read Before Considering Buying This.I got my first Sedu in January of 2010. It was absolutely amazing. It glides through your hair, damages less as most irons do, leaves hair incredibly smooth and shiny, heats up to 420 degrees, and straightens hair in half the time it took my old Remington. It would've been perfect, except IT DIDN'T LAST. By July, I had to have it replaced because it just wouldn't turn on. Then, a couple weeks ago, I noticed my current Sedu turning off randomly. I now find myself having to have the wire set a certain way in order for my iron to stay on. I already have to replace my second one, and because history repeats itself, I'm moving on from Sedu products and seriously considering getting a chi.I'm really disappointed because this really was the ideal iron. So go ahead and buy it, but don't count on it lasting.

Love ItI absolutely love this iron. I've had so many over the years, and this is my favorite. I have naturally blonde, thin european hair. Most irons are harsh and left my hair damaged but this one left it silky and smooth - I've also worn extensions for years (human hair) and I use the iron to straighten them all the time. I keep it on a low setting because my hair is so thin (250) but it works great! It's never burnt the extensions or left them anything but smooth - the only way that it could be better is if the edges were curved a bit more so i could get a nice flat iron curl. other than that no complaints.posted Jan 24, 2012Link to this post

It's The Best Flat Iron Ever!!!!!Since times are hard. I had to do my hair on my own at home. The Sedu 1 1/2 inch is my best kept secret for my hair. The iron is great.
