  • Great While It Lasted 4 Star Rating
This flat iron did amazing for me while it worked. I've got really tight curls/mixed hair and it takes a lot of work to straighten it out. I gave up on Conair a long time ago because it snagged my hair and didn't get hot enough to be effective. It took me forever to get my hair done. My next flat iron was a Remington, though not this model, and it helped but it was a 3" one and eventually just fell apart on me. So that brings me to this one. Not only did this flat iron cut my straightening time, but it also made my hair a perfect, smooth straight. Previous straighteners had left my hair fairly poofy. This one did a great job at giving me the look I wanted from day one. I did use it daily, minus a day or two here and there when the previous night hadn't been too hard on my hair. Summer also means I rarely straighten because it's just too hot to sit with 400 degrees on your head as well. Now I've had this flat iron for about a year and it gave out on me. I noticed at first that the screen was flickering and then a few days later, the screen turned off and the iron cooled down. I didn't pay much for it so I think I got my money's worth out of it. It really was a great straightener and it held me over but I'm not buying it again. I'm actually now very nervous about trying any Remington as a long term flat iron.

  • Great Flat Iron! Great Price! 5 Star Rating
I'm on a serious budget so having to spend any money on a flat iron was a financial issue. When your style calls for straightened tresses and your flat iron dies (well half of it anyway) what are you going to do? I did serious research to find the most bang for my buck. I LOVED that the Remington had adjustable high heat temps (to 450 degrees), 15 second heat up, auto shut off, pearl/titanium ceramic plates, a 4 year warranty AND it was under 40.00!! Those are the pros and it totally deserves the 5 star rating! The cons are that it makes a hum even when turned off it you leave it plugged in, the plates are stationary (meaning they don't float or flex) so you need to put more hair in than you are used to. This also means you finish doing your hair quicker-so I'm not sure that's a con. Also, like the other reviewer said, you can pinch your hand in the hinge part (although not painful) it is possible to do.

  • This Is All I Needed! 5 Star Rating
I bought this flat iron about 5 months ago.
    I absolutely love this iron.
I have used CHI and still use some of the salon brands; but this straightner is super slim, light-weight, and cute to carry.
Only bad thing is the plates are long, so I have caught my finger touch it.
The best thing about this iron that my sis-in-law used this iron and she loved it as well. The lock prevents the iron from being damaged or broken in the event it falls.
I curl my locks with this slim iron as well.
Hopefully they do not discontinue this!!!

  • Not Used To Using Flat Irons, But Liked This One. 4 Star Rating
I am a folica employee and am fortunate to have been given the chance to try this iron. I have long, thick hair and i really liked being able to adjust the temperature. It heats up fast and straightens my hair fairly quickly. I don't use straightening irons often, but must say I do like this particular one as it did perform very well for my hair type.
