PennyMA/Hampton, VAA Dream!I have grade 3C (very curly and thick- on the verge of kinky/nappy)hair and attend school in a very HUMID climate... This flat iron was like my best friend! It made my hair so nice and smooth and I really didnt take care of my hair at all! It would not fry my hair and I never used any serums or oils! It worked wonders through my last year of high school. I took this to college and everyone on my floor would borrow my flat iron both freshman and sophomore year... till I accidently burned a hole in the wire :-( I was devastated LOL. I now have a CHI turbo which is nothing special (I always have to put something on my hair so it wont fry) I would never choose it over my Paul!posted Aug 8, 2008Link to this post

KelsieHairCurly HairNot That Greatso i got this straightener for Christmas of 2006. my hair is naturally fine but so curly is insane! this straightener got rid of my curlyness but as soon as it hit humidity it curled right back up... so it doesnt come with a dehumidifier. flyaways were terrible, my hair broke from this straightener so bad, even with me using protection spray. after a couple months, the green plates were totally silver. and i only kept mine on 240 - 260 so it couldnt have been the heat that did it. after a year it shorted out, so i cant use it anymore. this review made it sound terrible, it wasnt awful but i dont think id recommend putting so much money on it...posted Jul 29, 2008Link to this post

StaciSouth FloridaI Love My Flat Iron.I have had my Paul Mitchell flat iron for almost a year. It was having a few problems for a couple days but it started working again. Other than that everyone loves my hair. My sister is a hair colorist/stylist and she has a chi but every time I visit her she uses my iron. Shes had three chis and Ive had one. We use our irons every day and they all broke after a year. I think that any iron if used often will only last a little over a year. I had a solia and it lasted three months. But about this iron, anything you can do to damage your hair Ive done. I bleach it and I color it all the time. I also flat iron my hair almost every day and its still silky smooth. Though I dont reccomend flat ironing your hair every day. I live in Florida and my hair rarely frizzes. All of my friends want this iron. Its fast, cute, and it works!posted Jul 26, 2008Link to this post

ReneePortland, OregonDon't Buy It.I have thick, (and i mean thick), wavy hair. Ive used chi & ghd basically my whole life. CHIS HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY. I love my chi but as the years go on, its just not as good, so I bought a Paul Mitchell, I hate it. It ran through my hair, burning it, and the plate was chipping during the process. I do not recommend. If you want a good flat iron, get the GHD. Its the best running and not many people know about it. It is deff. worth the 200$. :)posted Jul 22, 2008Link to this post

JanineNew Lexington, OhioWorked Great For About 1-1/2 Yrs.I absolutely love this iron - when it works. Ive had it for a couple of years now, but about 6 months ago, the light wouldnt come on unless I jiggled the cord, but then, once I started using the iron, the light would go off and on. My fiance thought maybe I had yanked on the cord and messed up the wiring, but after reading some of the reviews, I realize its not me. Im still using it - along with alot of electrical tape, which I end up re-taping about once a week. I would not recommend this iron.posted Jul 20, 2008Link to this post

NicoleLansing, MITake Care Of It If You Want It To LastI had this flat iron for a year, and i loved it. It broke when i moved and someone accidentally crushed it otherwise I would still have it. As far as power surges and what not read the manual, duh you dont wrap the cord around it. But you also need to clean the plates every once in a while, as with any flat iron, you get product build up and whatnot. You just use isopropyl alcohol on a cotton ball, and you shouldnt have a problem.posted Jul 2, 2008Link to this post

Alana YoungLake Charles, LACheap Products Last Longer....As for many other people, my hair dresser used the Paul Mitchell iron on my hair, and I just loved it, so I decided to purchase it... totaling a cost around $140. I used it for about 6 months with no problem; and was pleased. At around the 1 yr mark it began giving me trouble. The LED light would no longer come on, and the iron would not heat up. It was broken. I kept the box & receipt, as my dresser told me to to mail it back if something like this happened. (she has mailed 2 back). I got ready to send it off, and noticed that the warrenty is for 1 yr.... so, looking back she mailed 2 off in the 1 yr warrenty. That is horrible. I have had products that Ive bought for a fraction of the cost that has lasted me YEARS! And that is to be expected when an iron costs what this one does. I would NOT recommend this product.posted Jun 27, 2008Link to this post

BelleHouston, TxLove Love It..this is probably the best straightener ive ever had.. the first one i bought got stolen so i bought another one and ive already had it for almost 2 years and so far so good.. i would advise anyone who buys one though that you should NEVER rap your cord around your straightener, always fold it the way it first came. it gets your wires all messed up and im pretty sure the people who do it that is one of the reasons there straightener is getting messed up. if your thinking about buying it, i give it 2 thumbs up!!posted Jun 26, 2008Link to this post

MarcieSpringdale, ARI Love This Product!I got the P.M. flat iron for Christmas 2007 at the recommendation of my stylist. I absolutely LOVE it. I had a problem with it about 5 or 6 mos. after I got it. My friend Brad has a degree in small electronics repair. I asked him if he could fix it for me and he took it apart and discovered there is a small wire that connects the cord to the thermostat that had come loose. He slipped it back on and it has been working great ever since. My hair has never felt softer or been smoother. I also recently discovered an all in one styling product called Its a 10. I spray it on my hair while it is still damp, blow dry it, and flat iron it and I dont have near as many split ends as I used to and my hair is SOFT and shiny!posted Jun 26, 2008Link to this post
