JeanMichiganGreat Straightener!Wow! Im surprised to read about some of the problems people have had with this smoothing iron. Ive had 2 now and each has lasted for a few years. Ive (accidentally) dropped mine on a tile floor multiple times and wrap my cord around it daily and its still working great. Im planning to buy a 3rd one just to have on hand since my current one is getting old. I really like this curling iron! I hope by posting this comment I didnt just jinx my third iron!posted Jun 16, 2009Link to this post

KaylaMassachusettesThe Same ProblemI have the same problem...I have had it for about two years now but now the wire is all messed up and its extremely frustrating because it was so expensive...but other than that I loved it...time for a new one.posted May 26, 2009Link to this post

MangomaeSugar Land, TXGood, But.....This straightener is a better iron then the CHI for sure bc it can go higher in degrees. The problem with this iron that I had and I had with the CHI is the cord is shorting out. It happened on my CHI and I found out that when you rap the cord around the iron thats when it looses its connection at the meeting point of the cord and iron. So I got the paul Mitch iron and DID NOT wrap the cord ever! The iron still shorted out on me. So now im switching to a different iron againposted May 5, 2009Link to this post

BriannaGood But UnreliableI have been using this straightener for five years now, I love it- its the best straightener I have ever used, hence the fact Ive had it for so long. BUT I have had to buy a new one every year, and it always seems to be RIGHT after my warranty expires. Because its so expensive- its time I try to find something more reliable, but I couldnt ask for better; before it breaks anyways.posted Apr 14, 2009Link to this post

JessicaCanadaI bought it at a salon, and I found it didnt work anywhere as good as my CHI had worked. I returned it about 4 days later, waste of time. And more expensive than my favoured CHI.posted Apr 5, 2009Link to this post

JericaAgreed, Cheap Products Last Longer.I have been through two of these, they are certainly NOT worth the money, that is for sure. The first one, was wonderful, it lasted me about a year until it died, I opened it up and the wire thats supposed to be glued onto something to heat the plates came unglued. If i could find glue that withstood the high temperature I would fix it. The second one I had a friend buy me because of her discount being a stylist. The straightener came to me defective, it did not have that smooth coating on the plates and the plates did not align at all. it pulled and pulled my hair, and did not smooth it at all.I would not buy another one of these, in fact, I just bought the Solia 1 1/4 straightener for $72 with a free 2 year warranty. Thus far, works like a dream. Although, i find it doesnt get AS hot as this one, but it certainly does the job, and a great job at that.posted Mar 15, 2009Link to this post
