    It Was Pretty Good!
this iron was not bad at all i straightened my hair as soon as i got it it stayed up through all the humidity and i tried curling and the result was beautiful. my hair came out shiny too! its super small which was expected. what i didnt like was that the iron looked better on the internet than real life. it also has no temp control and is way too hot for my thin hair im exchanging for the other metropolis since the result of this one was satisfying i .like metropolis . good brand!

    Cheap Product
I am angered when subjected to cheap materials and cost cutting such as this. First, I called Metropolis to ask what their temperature was on this iron....they told me 400 degrees.Well, Ive tried it twice now, and I can tell you that it doesnt heat to 400 degrees. I have a 1 3/4 inch Sedu that is great but I wanted something with smaller blade width. Plus I wanted something to curl my ends. The Sedu only goes to "200" on the dial, whether that is degrees or celsius I dont know. What I do know is that the Sedu makes my hair so hot that I can burn my fingers on my hair. Therefore I need to stroke it quickly down my hair. The $129 Metropolis barely gets my hair warm.I have porous hair that is considered straight, but just needs some smoothing. The Metropolis wont give me a smooth look, so I know it wouldnt help the women with curly, frizzy hair.Next, although the blades are smooth on the edges, the white part that surrounds the blades, at the tips, is absolutely jagged. Like a dogs teeth jagged. It rips out hair and holds it all knotted up there. Trying to pull the blades down my hair was a chore as it dragged and caught and pulled. I finally gave up each time and plugged in my Sedu and it just slid like butter..... Basically I think I just need a 1" Sedu to fulfill my needs.Another unforgivable thing about this Metropolis....it is rounded and thin (and looks great), however, they cheaped out and did not allow for a way for it to sit still on the counter. It absolutely cannot hold itself up no matter how you fiddle with the swivel cord. Its a fire waiting to happen since it insists on falling to its side. Right now, Im trying to allow mine to cool by propping it up between a hairbrush and the sink edge. So now I have to spend money to send it back. What a waste. If you have 3 or 4 inch short hair and want to curl the ends, this might work for you.....but without a way to sit it on the counter, and with the jagged edges, why bother. Get a Sedu or something else.

    Works Great
Its easy to use & quick to heat up. I have long hair & even used it to straighten my hair this morning (it just takes a little less hair than if you were using a standard size straightener). It holds the heat & you dont have to wait for it to re-heat after youve done a couple of strands.

    Pros And Cons
This iron staightens very well. With the exception that the plates are not flush with the plastic and tend to snag long hair. I simply can not aford the hair breakage. As far as the curling goes, it curls nicely if you want small curls. Over all I would say the product is average and would only recomend it to those with chin lenght hair.

    Perfect For Short Hair
I just got a haircut with shorter layers on the back and this 3/4 iron does a great job! Because of pointy ends it gets through layers easily and little ridges on it hold hair in place while curling. It made so easy for me to work on the back of my head with just one hand, plus the handle is ergonomic, little "bumps" on it stop my hand from sliding to the hot part of the iron. No temperature control didnt bother me, because it doesnt get insanely hot (like my Solano used to), it gets hot just enough to curl & flip my stubborn hair! It can straighten too, I tried on longer layers on the front, but its best for curling. Its cute & I love the 10 year warranty! So far I am very satisfied with it!
