There Is No Iron Better Than This.I am a hairstylist. I have used all the irons ever made on my own natural very curly hair. I do not use chemicals to straighten my hair so I know which iron is better than the others. I have used from very cheap to the most expensive ones and I really know that this iron really works. The best way to use it is to start from very low to higher temperatures depending on the results you want. Also, use the flat plates when you want to smooth your hair. This Product Is AwesomeI just used my Maxiglide for the first time, and let me tell you, it works! I am an african american woman with relaxed hair. Usually I have to blow dry, then flat iron my hair and then curl it, which takes about 2 hours. Maxiglide was very quick, and I have very coarse hair. This product is excellent. I would reccommend that you apply a heat protectant before using it, do not over saturate. Also I would reccommend that when you use the heat setting, that you put it on #1, Which was very hot, and it did the trick for my naturally thick and unmanagable hair. Trust me It will Straighten even the nappiest hair. Just make sure that you detangle the hair first before using, or it will pull your hair out. This is by far the best tool I have ever purchased. I reccommend it to all women and especially when of color who might be skeptical. It is well worth the money. Be sure to conditon your hair on a regular basic, I would not reccommend daily use. Control Switch Wasn't OperatingI received the Maxi Glide last week, used it once and it worked fine but on the second use the control switch wasnt operating and the heat settings were reversed ( I didnt know this) and I my hair was almost frid at the ends. I had to unplug it in order to cut it off because the switch was broken. According to Customer Service, I have to ship back at my expense and wait for the replacement. I ordered the Maxi Glide directly from their website and paid 19.95 for S&H. Their package seemed to be the better deal. We have asked to speak with a Supervisor because we dont feel the burden should be on us. Product seems to be reliable but shop around. On the DVD, the Maxi Glide control switch has a steam setting and the one they sent to me doesnt.posted Aug 23, 2005Link to this post -

MaxiglideI recieved the maxiglide for my 21st birthday, it was one of the best gifts ever!!!!! Living in michigan in the winter is miserable, especially if you have to take a shower to do ANYTHING with curly hair. Now, with maxiglide, i straighten my hair twice a week and dont get headaches from leaving the house with a wet head. No More Visits To The Salon To Get Straight Hair!I was impressed with the results of Maxiglide. I have naturally curly (frizzy) hair and I go to a salon every week to get my hair blow dried straight. Even with professional care it still doesnt come out as straight and sleek as the result I got from using Maxiglide. It was easy to use and its convenient because I can do it on my own time. Great ProductThis is a great product that works just like advertised. I have thick curly hair and hate for others to blow dry it (or at least try) and with maxiglide I dont have to worry about that any more. The fact that I no longer have to HAVE it blow dry at all but instead let my hair air dry is a perk. My hair is straighten completly (EVEN ROOTS)and shines. I love and it works fast.
