Maxiglide Hair Straightener XP Value Pack

KuhrayzMiamiHairCurly HairSo Far So Good And Happy!I have been reading the product reviews on the Maxiglide for about 2 years now. I have always wanted to purchase once based upon the infomercial and internet reviews. Like MANY others, I was a skeptic. I am bi-racial, with very curly hair, my front hairline and the crown having the tighter, kinkiest curls. Fast forward a couple of years, I turn on the tv and see a new informercial for Maxiglade XP. Looked pretty much the same but there was something new I wasnt sure about...anyway...I ended up purchasing the Maxiglide XP for under $100 complete with instructional DVD, product, extra plate and detangling brush. The XP now has a swivel cord and there is no blinking led light (it blinks and remains steady once it is hot)and I noticed no leakage. Perhaps, these are some of the improvements made, no thanks to our prodict reviews. I have had it for 4 days now and I have done my hair once complete and touched it up last night...and did my friends hair today. We live in Miami and it was in the low 80s today with a bit of humidity. I love it. My hair is very soft...not so shiney but then again I have curly hair. Curly hair is naturally dry.I think that there will be a lolt of mixed feelings on this product. You really do need to follow the instructional DVD, do small sections...detangle your hair first...the glide is not supposed to comb your hair. Also make sure to protect your hair from the elements....you should not treat your hair any different than you normally would.Bottom line is that I love this device and am excited to see its functionality over the months to see if mine breaks or stopes working as others have that I have read. I would say that if you can afford to part with the money, it is worth it. Just follow the instructions and take the time to do it the right way, have a little patience the first time. Only took me 4o minutes. I have used Chi, Wigo, Revlon and all of them made me look like a chia pet!posted Dec 28, 2008Link to this post

RobinGeorgiaHairCurly HairL O V E It !!Ok ....I heard about this maxiglide and I was like yeah I dont beleive it does that great. Well my husband got it for me for Christmas and my friend and I used it... She has very thick and curly hair and she pulled it through once and it was all straight and shiny. When it usually takes 1 hr with another straightener it only took about 10-15 mins with the maxiglide. My hair is thick also but I have a short haircut, it only took about 5 mins to do mine it is prefect!posted Dec 18, 2008Link to this post

TeeNYC Orig Frm TXBest Iron I Have Used So FarI belong to several hair forums and this product was recommended so I looked into it. I have seen several realtime reviews on youtube and decided to get it myself.I love it! I have natural 4a african american hair and let me tell you it got it straight and I didnt blow dry it straight first I admit I may have lost less hair if I did blow it straight first, but I was excited and had to try it out. It is soft still and the steam actually serves a good purpose I thought it would revert my hair and it didnt it helped to straighten it. I really think the word GLIDE had been over looked by many review people cause you can glide it and it straightens no real need to squeeze unless you wanna lose hair. Here is the youtube vid that I made helped me decide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3tec_9WnqQ.I want to add that I love the fact that you can get it sooooo close to your scalp and it does not burn. Ok that is my review.posted Dec 4, 2008Link to this post

Shirley M. ClarkRed Deer, Alberta, CanadaSuper Straightening IronI bought my iron a year ago to use on my show dog with long hair. I have been using it for a year now, and wouldnt trade it for anything. The steamer works perfectly, the little teeth line up the hair for a smoother finish, and it heats quickly. It may have been designed for people, but it is a great grooming tool for my showdogs. The value pack has been a great bonus, providing a bag to store several grooming tools, and I love the hairbrush that was included. I kept that for myself.posted Dec 2, 2008Link to this post

MandaToronto , OntarioBar Far The Best !!!!I originally got this straightener for christmas one year and i first i didnt like it becuase the pins pulled my hair alot but then i actually watched the dvd and realized you didnt have to put pressure on it . after that if was fine and i love it i have very coarse multi racial hair and its thick and usually takes along time with the maxiglide i get it done in like 10 minutes because you only have to go over it once . than my dad broke it by stepping on it so i ordered a new one from folica it came quickly and its now the only straightener i will use the other one make ur hair look bushy and dry but maxi glides perfect.posted Nov 25, 2008Link to this post

BrittneyVirginiaRead If You Are Thinking Buying !!Dear Customer Who is thinking about buying this piece of JUNK ... Things i hate 1. Heavy .. really heavy2.the cord breaks easily 3.Looks like i have snow in my hair because of the split ends4.steam chamber leaks5.rips and pulls hair6. it claims it doesnt burn but tell that to the huge scar on my forehead that got burned by the "wonderful and amazing" steam7. it started smelling like it was going to catch on fire which in turn made my hair smell horrible8.it broke the other day and i had to go back to my cheapo walmart clearance $14 straightener AND IT WORKED BETTER !!!9. for all the time you spend trying to get your hair straight & l00king decent it poofs and frizzes within an hour10.even the most mousterizing shampoo and products WILL NOT HELP THE DAMAGE IT WILL DO !!11. it pulls your hair out and it gets stuck in those pin things and needs to be cleaned every single tim you use it cause the steam kills all the oils in your hair and guess where they end up ?! In the plates !12.pulls so bad the 1st time i used it i cried ! the things i like 1. ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING !MAY I SUGGEST TYPING SEDU IN THE SEARCH BOX UP THERE IN THE CORNER ? i did best decision in my life i <3 my new sedu it worked wonders and even made my maxiglide frizz ball STRAIGHT AND SOFT YOU WONT REGRET !!!!!!!!!!posted Nov 21, 2008Link to this post

BrittneyVirginiaDont Buy !I bought the maxi glide about a year ago.It worked wonders on my hair because my hair is super thick and super curly.Complaints1.HEAVY ! It takes 1-2 hours and the 2 pounder hurts my arm !2.THE PINS compleatly broke down my once silky hair to the point where it is wirey and appears as if i "have snow in my hair"3.THE CORD The straightener will not cut on unless the cord it held up by a bread tie 4.THE STEAM CHAMBER LEAKS all over my hair and then i have to re do most of it.LIKES 1.makes my hair relativley straight. The bad sooo out weighs the good im ready to throw it out the window for a $90 straightener i expected it to last so much longer than a year and do a much better job . May i suggest typing the name SEDU in the search box above ? im getting one ! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY !posted Nov 16, 2008Link to this post
