Jordan KPuerto RicoGood ....at First!Ive had my Maxiglide XP for about a year now. I was very excited when I got it. It seemed to smooth my hair at first, but if the day got humid my hair would frizz up again. It wasnt until a while after using it that my hair started to break badly. Now I have short chunks of hair all over my head. Im letting it grow now and Im trying to get it back to what it looked like before I started using the Maxiglide.posted Jun 5, 2009Link to this post

AnonymousHairCurly HairAwesome! This product works great on my hair! If its pulling your hair out, youre just doing it wrong because i have thick curly hair (really, i mean its not nappy but its thick) and i dont know if you know this but if you have more ethnic hair you have to detangle it before you use a straightening product for the best results and no hair being pulled outposted May 30, 2009Link to this post

ShanonNew Orleans, LouisianaThe Worst Flat Iron I've Ever Used!!Ive used many flat irons in search of a good one, and my mom thought she finally found a good one for me and ordered this one off of TV. This flat iron RIPS MY HAIR OUT SOOOO BADLY and its PAINFUL when it does rip it out. The steam dried out my hair even more, it didnt help get rid of the frizz at all! I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone! What a waste of money!posted May 24, 2009Link to this post

KomeSan Diego, CaReally Like This!I had one of the initial ones and lllLLLOVED it!! My hair is curly being half Japanese and Black and for not having any chemical straightener in my hair, this is the best straightener ive ever used... I was very upset when it was broken to the point that i wont even buy anything else.. i just wish it was a little cheaper to make my pocket feel better but TOTALLY WORTH IT!!posted May 12, 2009Link to this post

MicheleSan DiegoGood For Long HairI have the Maxiglide XP and loved the way it made my long hair look. As long as it was not humid; if it was, my hair looked frizzy and almost worse than if I had left it alone. I had my hair cut short a few months ago and my Maxiglide does nothing to it. I now have to buy a new tool for my short hair.posted Apr 22, 2009Link to this post

JCan't Live Without It!My hair is long and I section it. I do the whole bottom half of my head first, then I do smaller sections around the top. I air dry my hair first which is thin, frizzy and curly. It only takes me 10 minutes to straighten and I dont even use the steam. I did in the beginning, but it works so well without it that I dont bother. You just need to know how to use it properly and youll be fine. Watch the instructional video first. Piece of cake. Be sure to comb through each section before straightening and dont hold it too tight on your hair or of course you will rip it out of your head because its not flat plates. I live in south FL and its very humid here. Ive been caught in the rain and my hair still doesnt frizz, unlike with other flat irons.posted Apr 16, 2009Link to this post

JayHoustonIf You Read Then Maybe It Wont Pull Your Hair Out!!!!!!!!!!!This by far is THE best flat iron I have ever had/tried and Ive have owned all from the chi, fhi, ghd, hai, and even tried the sedu. None of them compare to the maxiglide. I am aa type 4a with a little bit of 3c in the center of my head. Yes, it does take longer to flat iron, BUT after a long day (11+ hrs) of being in Houstons humidity my hair doesnt frizz,it loosely curls up(seriously) by the time I get back home and my hair is known for being horribly frizzy (note: I use chi silk & john Frieda frizz ease (in the orange bottle). This tool reminds me of a hot comb. You will get wonderful results IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS on the dvd. YES it will take longer but its worth it.posted Apr 4, 2009Link to this post

KrissiOregonDon't Use The Steam.Ive had this iron for about two years, and I only straighten my about once a month. I used the steam everytime, hoping it would help condition my hair, only to realize that it was actually DAMAGING it. Just the other night, I was going to straighten my hair with it, only to discover I left the removable water holder (I take it out so it doesnt leak on the iron) at home. I decided to try straightening without the steam, and my hair wasnt damaged one bit! It was so soft and shiny. Try using the steam at first, and if it helps your hair not get damaged, keep using it. But if youre like me and your hair gets damaged from this iron, see what happens without the steam.P.S: I have really thick, hard to straighten wavy hair. With the steam, it gets it kind of straight, and without the steam it gets it pin straight.posted Mar 28, 2009Link to this post

San Fran_mamaSan Francisco, CAHairChemically Treated HairBest Flat Iron For Curly/wavy HairI have wavy, very thick hair. Normal flat irons take over 30 minutes to make my hair silky straight. If you dont use the maxi glide correctly I can see how it wouldnt work. I dont use the plates with the pins. The flat plates work wonders and ... I can flat iron my hair at night and not need to touch it up the next morning. I use the steam burst for the ends and any unruly waves. The best thing about Maxi Glide ... you can buy replacement plates instead of buying a completely new flat iron. I recommend this for anyone who has curly/wavy - ethnic hair.posted Mar 5, 2009Link to this post
