Maxiglide Hair Straightener XP Value Pack

TyHoustonUsed It For Years!I love the Maxiglide. I have not had a relaxer in 2 years and you would NEVER be able to tell. I am mixed, spanish/black. My hair is dry, frizzy, and easy to tangle, but not coarse. This NOT only makes it straight, BUT it leaves your ends as straight and shiny AS the rest of your head. The steam works well (which is weird because instant humidity, rain etc, frizzes my hair) not this, softens and straightens. I have used this product for 4 going on 5 years. My first one went dead after two years, I got another one. I prefer the combs, because it gets your hair REALLY straight. I would advise if you have my hair type to put a bit of oil of some sort at your tips for maximum results. :) Prefer NO other straightener!posted Oct 16, 2009Link to this post

DaniBeverly Hills, California, United StatesThis Is The Wost Iron Everrr!!!!!!ok so i bought this straightener a week ago and it sucks! Dont waste your time even thinking bout buyin this because its a rip off! before i bought the maxiglide i had the jilbere de paris flat iron that worked amazing but after a year it stopped heating up. so i decided to buy this one and it damages your hair. the brissels in the straightener tug at your hair and trust me it hurts! also the thing i hated about this piece of crap was that you had to put water in it all the time and it had to be distilled water or purifyed water! overall its not worth it im going to return the maxiglide 2day and get the jilbere de paris iron again:)posted Aug 30, 2009Link to this post

AnonymousHairAfrican AmericanChemically Treated HairLong HairMajor Split Ends-rips Out Hair-hair Frizzes Right BackI bought the Maxiglide from one of the home shopping channels, for my very curly/frizzy ethnic hair. To get my hair the way I wanted it, I had to put it at the max heat setting, which has totally fried my hair! I now have MAJOR SPLIT ENDS. To get rid of them, I would have to cut 6+ inches off my hair. I think this product is made for wavy anglo hair -- not curly or frizzy ethnic hair. To make matters worse, after using the Maxiglide, my hair frizzes right back up when I go into humid weather -- how embarrassing! The steam will also burn and leave scabs on your scalp and once on my ear (my dermatologist thought it was skin cancer, but I realized it was a burn from my Maxiglide!) I am reading this forum to get ideas on what to buy next -- it definitely will NOT be the Maxiglide. P.S. The Maxiglide tears out my hair so bad that I have to vacuum the bathroom floor after using it each day -- no joke.posted Aug 16, 2009Link to this post

SaraTallahasseeHairAfrican AmericanDark BrownChemically Treated HairDont Think So...I thought this would be good for my natural 4a/4b afro hair, but it was a disaster. After filling the contraption with water and turning it on, the boiling water proceeded to leak on me. After singeing my skin, I ran the flat iron through my blow dried hair without any product in my hair. Even after using the ridiuclous steam burst function, my hair just looked ultra blow dryed. And lets not forget how the iron ripped and burning the ends of my hair. Im going to give this iron one more try using a higher setting and using a straightening product... But I doubt Ill like the results.posted Aug 11, 2009Link to this post

TahneeBristol,tnHairCurly HairNot That Greati have thick and wavy/curly hair and this iron straightens it but as soon as i step outside it gets frizzy again.ive had mine over a year and it seemed to work better when i first got it but nothing stopped the frizz like it said it would.the pins seem to pull and break my hair.ive used every hair product out there to get my hair under control and the only thing that really worked was a chi.i had my hair cut on a rainy day and my hair dresser used a chi and it turned out wonderful and didnt frizz at all.it wasnt just the products b/c i went and bought the same stuff she used and it didnt compare at all.if i was gonna spend that much money id save a bit more and get a chi or something else.i have a conair wet to dry iron and they pretty much do the same job.posted Jul 10, 2009Link to this post

AudreyTexasHairCurly HairDon't Get It!Ive had this flat iron for about a year now,at first it worked great but when humid weather and rainy weather came my hair just frizzed up.i always straighten my bangs and i would use heat protectant and serums and all that kinda stuff but it looked like i had a small animal on the side of my face. And whenever i tried to straighten it forget it,it would take about 4 hours which is too long if you ask me,or anyone. As soon as I would walk out my bathroom door it will frizz up and look awful.I have curly hair,it is not thick but i have a lot of it,but it shouldnt take four hours! so i say you should invest in something else!!posted Jul 1, 2009Link to this post
