ErrinAkron, OhioHairCurly HairBad For Hair , Doesnt Last Long.I bought the maxiglide 9 months ago. Now it wont heat up the blue light just keeps flashing. I have long thick and extremely curly hair. It still took me a long time to straighten my hair. I had to keep running it over a few strands. Its reaaly heavy and hard to work thru your hair. Recently I went to the salon to get my hair dyed the stylest said the flat iron was ruining my hair. And since I start on one side of my head when I straighen my hair on that side was shorter from the iron pulling my hair out. My hairs a mess from this iron. I Have the Sedu now it works great!posted Mar 28, 2007Link to this post

BraelynCaliforniaOkay But Getting A New Straighteneri got maxiglide last year around june and i really liked it. the only thing i didnt like was the long amount of time it took to heat up and how long it took to straighten my hair (my hair is thick, curly, and course). Even my sisters that have thinner hair than mine and more naturally straight said it took too long. About a month ago i turned on the straightener and 10 minutes later it was still heating up. i thought that was weird so i left it heating up. About a half hour later it was still blinking so i knew it was broken. My dad had to go back to the store and get a new one. this one is fine but i only like to use the two flat plates, not the combed one. Im really tired of it taking me about an hour to straighten my hair so i wanted to get a CHI. then i was reading the reviews and it made me want a solia. im going to purchase one soon hoping for a lot better results than the maxiglide. its okay but not the best.posted Mar 27, 2007Link to this post

RobinNorthridge, CaliforniaHairDry HairAwesome Iron!!Ive tried it all and when I saw the infomercial, I knew I finally found what I needed for my kinky frizzy hair. I must admit, the iron sat in its packaging for a few months because I dreaded ironing this mop on my head. I used the product yesterday, March 23, and I am so excited about the results, I want to work for the company and promote this product!!! Its awesome!!!!posted Mar 23, 2007Link to this post

KristenPocahontas ArkansasHairDry HairI Am Glad The Reviews I Read On The Maxiglide Didn't Scare Me From Trying!I was quite impressed by the demonstration of the maxiglide i saw on t.v. I was too late "ordering" it, so the next morning i searched the net for one. having recently "losing" my Chi (it died after 3 years of dedicated straightening!)i felt the maxiglide was a worthy replacement. after i placed the order, i went back and saw there were reviews from past/current maxiglide owners. although the good reviews far out-weighed the bad, i was a bit leary using the maxiglide once it was delivered! i read of hair being yanked out of my head, losing my hair, frying my hair.. etc.(my Chi fried my hair, as ANY high-heat appliance will over time! but YIKES!)but further reading of reviews, i picked up some good suggestions and i DID try the maxiglide! I LIKE IT! i have very thick AND corse hair the first try was of course experimental. i had to section off my hair in more sections than with the chi, but because of the larger plates, it still took 1/2 the time to straighten. combing your hair before and during is KEY! that way your hair doesnt get caught in the teeth and get pulled out! and heres a no-brainer! if your hair starts to get pulled? RELEASE THE IRON and start over! I liked the steam feature (that was hard for me to try because in cosmotolgy school i was told steam and naturally frizzy hair are ENEMIES!) but oh my gosh!! the ends of my hair finally straighten! the steam works! i only use the steam feature the "1st day" i straighten, and i usuall switch the plates from the teeth to the smooth after the 1st day as well. It is doing a great job so far, i just hope the maxiglide lasts as long as my Chi did! And now that it is entering springtime.. the humidity is coming!! will the maxiglide effects hold up??posted Mar 23, 2007Link to this post

LauraMarylandHairChemically Treated HairMaxiglide The Best I've Ever UsedI purchased my Maxiglide about 3 years ago, and I absolutely love the results. I have thick hard to straighten hair and Maxiglide does wonders. It works on damp or dry hair. My hair has grown since using it. I no longer use regular flat irons. The teeth in the lower plate really makes a difference. Over time the paint on the lower paint peels, but it does not affect the performance of the Maxiglide in anyway. One more thing, the infomercial says it can not burn, but that is not true it can burn, especially if you are using the Steam feature. Always come down a bit on the hair before pressing the steam button. You can get burns when the Iron is in the highest setting, when placed against your temples. Be very careful and you can enjoy this iron, as much as I do.posted Mar 21, 2007Link to this post

MeganCtHairLong HairNot So FantasticI got the maxiglide straightener for Christmas two years ago. At the time I had fairly long hair (about down to the middle of my back) and it worked okay, but kind of clunky. Over the summer I cut my hair & donated it. Now its a little past shoulder length, and I cant even use the maxiglide anymore. It is horrible for short hair. It is also very heavy and awkward to use. Since it is so wide it is hard to get close to the root and leaves that dent in my hair from the heat of the irons. My sister has long hair and when she came home from school she used my flat iron because she left hers at school and said it was "the worst straightening experience" of her life. This straightener is definitely not optimal for people with short hair. It works okay on long hair, but still very heavy and hard to maneuver.posted Mar 20, 2007Link to this post

Used To Be A Frizz BallBronx, NYHairChemically Treated HairLong HairGoodbye Stressful Mornings! Hello Beautiful Me!I have very thick and curly hair, the kind that frizzes. Every morning was a struggle to get it into a ponytail and I hated the response I got at the salons when they saw how much hair I had when I went to get it blown out. When this product came out as an infomercial my best friend got it and after 6 months loaned it to me since I kept complimenting her hair. I was immediately hooked! I borrowed it 3 more times just to see if it was worth the money before I ordered it. I do my hair once a week - at first i felt it was a little heavy but I got used to it and i take very good care of it so that it can last me a long time. I wash and dry my hair and disentangle it before I begin and in a matter of 45 minutes my waist long hair is straight and healthy looking without any frizz and lasts a whole week.posted Mar 20, 2007Link to this post

Aida SerranoBrooklyn, New YorkMaxiglideI just wanted to let you know that I have never ever blow dry my hair until I tried this product. Maxi Glide has made me a believer. This product was introduce to me by a co-worker and I loved what it did to her hair. I am so happy I no longer will have to have my hair straighten or even used those harsh chemicals.Everyone has complimented me and I have mentioned to them you must try it its the maxiglide. Right at this moment I am going to show my friend the Maxi Glide and I hope that she will buy this product.I have so happy with the way it feels and how it sways and its not frizzy at all. Now I can go out and not worry about oh how am I going to do my hair. For 40 years all I did to my hair were using curlers and even sleep with them so that I can make sure my hair will look cute has we say for the next day. But by the afternoon curls were gone and frizz appear. You have no idea how happy I am and I want to thank you for introducing this product. I will not switch to any other blow dryer or curling irons. Maxi Glide is for me and I am one satisfy customers and I will spread the word.Thanksposted Mar 20, 2007Link to this post
