Stick With What You Have.Honestly, I should have just bought another Chi. I am MUCH happier with my professional Chi iron. I received a combo package of Maxs shampoo, conditioner, miniglide and maxiglide. Its a shame every single one of these products was horrible. The shampoo made my baby-fine hair coarse feeling, and the conditioner did pretty much nothing for it. The miniglide was horrible when I tried it on a shorter part of my styled hair. It left it frizzy and dry. The maxiglide itself? Horrible. The smell it emits is terrible when in use and it stays with your hair all day. Id also like to note that my thin hair feels better when in use with my Chi iron as apposed to this monstrosity. Like many have said, its heavy, takes FOREVER to straighten hair (even shoulder length AND slightly wavy hair like mine), and requires a lot more maintenance to keep this product even semi working. Its a real let down. I really wouldnt recommend this product, especially if you have fine hair. I think better results tend to occur for women who tend to have thick curly hair, or women who just arent used to having their hair straight at least somewhat decently.posted Aug 19, 2007Link to this post -

Not Worth The PriceI spent alot of money since it was suppose to keep your hair smooth in humid weather. I used this before i went out on a date on a humid night. i looked like a poodle at the end. This is a horrible product. It doesnt work very well and your hair gets caught if you dont use tiny sections. Hurts when you do the back of your head and cant see what your doing. The Absolute Best!!I have thick wavy highlighted hair and this is the quickest way to get my hair pin straight. I love that the it has a steam button and comb pins on the plates. It takes me 15-20 minutes to go from frizzy to smooth straight hair. I have tried the high end brands but returned them this is the only one that works for me! Actually, It Works WellI was actually surprised that it worked as well as it did. I have very fine, very curly hair and I live in the (very humid) south. I have used a ton of products in the past (gels and irons), and have always had to take over 20 minutes to get hair that was smooth (but still looked a little ratty). I had finally decided that I would just go and pay for blow-outs at salons until now. It took 10 minutes and my hair looks very smooth. I am quite pleased.posted Aug 17, 2007Link to this post

Awesome Product On The Market -- A Must BuyBefore I get started I wanted to give much thanks to Renée O. from Houston, TX because she wrote an awesome review. I doubt I can top this in any way. I would have to say that everything she wrote was exactly what I would say about the product; especially the part about the cord, whats up with that?? However, I must say thanks to Maxius for an awesome product. I spend only 10 minutes a day doing my hair and it gets longer every month. When my cord got so twisted that my original Maxius iron stopped working, I quickly purchased another one. This time I will put a lot more effort into keeping the cord from doing this again. Yet, if I did have a problem again, I would purchase this product all over again. The steam works great and adds additional shine to my hair. I dont put anything else in my hair accept for CHI Silk Infusion, and I hate perms to death and don’t use them!!! I believe that if I didnt add the CHI, this iron would still do the trick. It takes some time getting use to this iron but after you do, it is worth its weight in gold. A suggestion for future users, if you want your hair to look shiny instead of dull, it is a good practice to blow dry your hair first. You dont have to use the hottest setting but just make sure you get the curls out because if you dont, if your hair is already dry and curly, its harder to straighten the hair in its final state. When your hair is wet get the curls out if nothing else, and no you dont have to blow dry your hair straight, just make sure your hair is devoid of any curls before using the Maxius glide; it just makes the end result that much better and your hair won’t be dull.Also if you’re purchasing this product for the first time, try to keep the iron in good health. Clean it, make sure you dont pull on the cord (it will eventually break if you dont), and just practice upkeep because this product is really worth the price. I didnt have any problems with the little blue steam dispenser, however based on other reviews; I can definitely see where this could cause a problem. I wont be leaving that connected with the iron anymore if I can help it. I would hate to purchase this product for the second time only to run into another mechanic issue!! By the way, I had this product for three years before I had to purchase the second one. Just like anything in life, some things (depending on use, I use it a lot) do not last forever; unfortunate but true. :(All in all, if you looking for an iron that is easy to use and will flatten your hair in as little time as possible, this is definitely the product for you. Im not sure if anyone is interested but if you dont put a lot of products in your hair and youre only using the iron (or even if you do) a great purchase alongside of this is the Curlaway straightened. Put in a search for it on the internet and read some of the reviews. This in addition with this iron is phenomenal!!!! Although if your sensitive to smells and all, I wouldnt suggest sleeping with it in your hair overnight. Make sure when you apply it to your hair, the area is well ventilated. Everybody is different so don’t quote me. I had to get use to the apple/vinegar aroma, but once I did I had no problems leaving it in overnight. The Curlaway straightener will gradually release the curls in your hair and make styling that much easier along with the Maxius flat iron.Hope this review helps, good luck to all of you in your future purchases!!!! :Dposted Aug 16, 2007Link to this post

Worst Straightner Ever!!!!i was really excited when i first bought this i thought it would be good since i spent a good deal of money. but i was very disappointed. i brought it home and then found out u had to have special water or else it brakes. so ihad to go and buy that. After buying the water i used the straightener and found it worker "okay" but not well enough for my thick curly hair. eventually it pulled out parts of my hair and left my hair very very damaged. i woudl not recommmend this straighner for anyone. it a piece of crap.posted Aug 14, 2007Link to this post

Maixglide Performance "iffy"I have the maxiglide and it works fairly well. As an African-American with no chemicals on my hair it doesnt get my hair as straight as they do in the beauty shop.
