Mixed ChickBrooklyn, NYHairCurly HairExcellent ProductHello all - Ive had a MaxiGlide for a little over 2 years. It just recently broke and Im going to buy another one. This has to be the most excellent product that they ever came up with. I happen to be mixed with Black West Indian and American Indian and have a pretty good grade of hair, but its really curly. I really dont have the option to perm and really dont want too (Perms actually makes my hair fall out). I love the diversity of my hair. Ive used everything to get straight hair. I like to wear my hair down sometimes. I tried everything from flat irons to hot combs and nothing really works. When I first got my MaxiGlide I was so surprised with the results. My hair was so soft and silky and bone straight. The major problem that I have with other flat irons is that I loss all my curls and I cant re-curl my with a curling iron. It just straight and flat with no body. With the MaxiGlide I dont get that. I love this product. I would definitely recommend it to my other mixed girls or for anyone with curly hair that doesnt want to perm. It is definitely with the price.Peace and Loveposted Aug 31, 2007Link to this post

PhDallas, TexasFooled Twice...I purchased this straightener, tried it twice and returned a few days later. This product is nothing of what it says it is. My hair is normal and healthy, wavy to curly. This product is HORRIBLE! First, it wasnt hot enough, I had to go over and over and over the same section three to four times. It usually takes me 20 minutes to straighten my hair, with this straightener it took me 35 minutes. The iron pulled my hair because of the small teeth on the top plate; their built on the plate, so you donât have the option to take them out. When you use the steam feature, its even worse! The steam is moisture being put back in your hair...we all know what humidity does to our hair. Anyway, to top it off, I think I purchased this straightener twice. The first time it was from the store a couple of years ago. I had the same problems so I returned it. The second time I bought it online a couple of months ago and lost the original money for shipping and when I returned it I had to pay for shipping again. It was the worst experience Ive ever had with a hair straightener. Expensive doesnt always mean better quality!!!posted Aug 26, 2007Link to this post

KrisFloridaHairCurly HairGood But Not Worth The PriceI have really curly frizzy hair and I was tired of trying and failing at blow drying it myself. So I saw an infomercial on tv and thought omg this is it this is for me. I bought and sadly I can say its okay. I think this product is better for people with wavey hair and not curly or coarse like mine. I litterally blow dry my hair and flat iron it then to wake up in the morning to have to do touch ups. And I live in FL which is extremly humid and my hair doesnt last not even 10 minutes outside without my bangs going curly on me. I mean I cant knock it its a great product but its not worth the price or all the hype. I seriously wish I could get refund and buy the CHI instead or a Maxiglide. Hope it helps.posted Aug 24, 2007Link to this post

AlisonMichiganI Hope It Lasts.I just recieved this straightener a week ago, and I could not be more pleased with the results. I have read a lot of the other reviews, and the main complaints seem to stem from the longevity of the product and the damage to the hair. However, any iron can damage your hair, if you dont take proper care of it. Deep conditioning and protective serums will work wonders for your hair. And any iron can break, if you dont take proper care of it. I am wary of using the blue steam thing because it seems to break the iron for other people. I will leave another review in probably 6 months to report on how mine is holding up.My hair is medium length, frizzy, and of medium thickness. I set it at an 8, which may be too high, but it litterally cut my styling time in half. I used to use Conair/GoldnHot irons, which were cheap and worked as such. Now I can do my hair in 10-15 minutes, and it stays straight a lot longer. It is also a lot softer. If it lasts beyond a year, this iron will be well worth the money.

Deborah HurdTerrell, TXWonder StraightenerThis brush is 100 times better than a traditional flat iron. I had a flat iron that cost over $100 that doesnt come close to the job the MaxiGlide does. It takes a little practice to master the technique, but within a few minutes youll be straightening like a pro, So dont give up. And the styles lasts better too, because of the steam. Compare it to dry ironing a blouse to steam ironing a blouse. I realize that anyone under 50 probably wont understand that analogy, but trust me - this straightener is the best I have ever seen.posted Aug 20, 2007Link to this post
