JessicaLAThe First 3 Months Was Great... But...first i was so happy cuz it does work pretty well than my other expensive onesthen it started to take forever to heat upand take more times to straighten the same area of hair to get it straighteni dont use the flat plate really, but when i put it on, it slides off during straightening my hair and that was very scary, good thing i didnt get burned. so i returned itposted Feb 9, 2008Link to this post

HeatherNorth Hollywood, CAHairCurly HairThe Best Hair Straightner Ever! This is by far the best hair straightner ever made. I have really curly hair so I used to have to use a lot of product, blow dry my hair and use a ceramic straightner and my hair still would not be entirely straight. Now I dont have to use product or blow dry my hair. I wash it the night before and let it air dry. By the time I get up in the morning my hair is very curly and frizzy. I just run the Maxius Maxiglide through my hair and it comes out super straight! I can finally get rid of using products and even the blow-dryer! It is definitely worth every penny!posted Feb 8, 2008Link to this post

Cyndy Van AukenTexasHairCurly HairAwesomeMy hair is naturally curly and I couldnt get it to straighten out. The Maxi-glide not only straightened my hair but softened it at the same time. I strongly recommend this product. Believe me I have tried MANY.posted Feb 8, 2008Link to this post

StephanieBloomington, INIt Lasted Less Than Six MonthsAfter less than 6 months of owning the maxiglide, I plugged it in one morning and nothing happened. I know most people are thinking that I probably didnt take care of it, but I actually took very good care of it. I only used this iron about once a week. My straightener that I purchased for $25, from Target, has lasted longer than this one. I would not waste your money on this and I would purchase one with better quality.posted Feb 8, 2008Link to this post

Donna THouston, TXHairCurly HairIt Changed My LifeI am on my 3rd Maxiglide over the past 4 years. I use it daily. I buy them when I find a sale and have two brand new ones boxed ready to use under my sink. I take my older ones and give them to friends with the DVD and every one of them has gone out and bought their own new one. There is always going to be some breakage, but if you dont watch the video or read the instructions or are patient with learning it, you are going to be disappointed. If you use it daily, dont use it more than a year, the coating will eventually chip. I have long (lower middle back) fine curly hair and I use setting 10, steam the heck out of it and its silk. Find your own setting. Work in small hair segments. Most people Ive seen who complained also dont get a haircut but once every two years and theres so many split ends they are begging for additional breakage. I get much less breakage when I use it than what is in my hairbrush if I let my hair go curly and just normally brush it. So, buy this product, get your hair trimmed every two months and you will have movie star hair. People come up to me on the street raving about my hair and first ask me who my hairdresser is, but I have to tell them, the haircut is only half the equation and then tell them my little secret. Hair product is very important with this device. The Maxi products are not so good. I recommend Nexxus. NEVER use crunchy mousse, wax, thickeners, root lift creams or hairspray prior to running a Maxiglide through your hair. You might as well stick some bubblegum in your head and fuse it to your hair with an iron. Freshly wash your hair, use a detangler (Nexxus Heat protector spray is awesome)and a glosser, allow to air dry, dont apply gobs of it, the Maxiglide will help distribute the product throughout your hair with the steam, if you need additional product, very lightly apply any additional applications. I like to use the Nexxus spray, distribute with a WIDE TOOTH COMB, dont use brushes on wet hair, that will rip your hair out, then spray very lightly with TIGI Head Rush Spray. Results are like glass and the TIGI helps the Maxiglide run through your hair. Simply Awesome!posted Feb 7, 2008Link to this post

Zeus' MomSan Jose, CAUsed For Over 3yrs NowI have used this straightener for over 3yrs now. Today it stopped working. The only thing you have to watch out for with this product is the cord. If it gets tanglled up and twisted it might stop working. Other then that, it has worked great, I get compliments on my hair style all the time (straight with ends flipped). People think it takes me hours to do my hair in the morning but with this product it takes 10-15 minutes at the most and leaves my hair soft and beautiful. I am ordering another one as you are reading this to replace mine, I will take better care of the cord and hopefully it will last me longer then 3yrs this time! If you purchase, please enjoy, just take care of the thing!posted Feb 6, 2008Link to this post

CharityBklyn, NYWorked On My Kinky African-american Hair!!!I am an African American who decided to go natural about 2 yrs ago. I wanted variety in my hair styles and tecture. I tried the hot comb and hair straighteners. None worked of course on my thick tectured, course, kinky hair-extcept for the maxi-glide. My hair looks as if it were relaxed!!! Actually better than relaxed. I only have to go over a section of my hair once (need to blow dry out all the kinks first if you have course hair like mine) and its completely straight. My hair isnt hot after I use it either. I recomend this to any african american who is going natural and wants a product that can give them opportunity to go straight every once in a while!! The best part about this product is that if i go outside i dont have to worry about my hair turning into a puff ball (other straighteners couldnt withstand the outside environment-wind-humidity...)posted Feb 6, 2008Link to this post

LilySouthfield, MichiganBest One I've Ever TriedThis iron is amazing. my younger sister bought one, when she married and moved out, i couldnt live w out one so i got one too, my older sister borrowed it and it took 4ever for me to get it back. this product is super! makes hair absolutely stunning, silky but not flat, which i cant stand. but it does dry ends after many many uses. but u cant find a product like that on a shelf of a local drug store. i definetely reccomend it. its not cheap but when u start using it, u wont regret the money u put into it!!!posted Feb 4, 2008Link to this post

ChristyPhiladelphiaIts Okok I dont like the maxiglide. I think it is a piece of crap. First/ of all it takes a while to striaghten your hair. Second/ the little teeth hurt. Third/ it leaves dents in your hair. Four/ use it for a while it start to stink. I would not recommend this. Now instead of the maxiglide Im getting a Solia.posted Feb 1, 2008Link to this post
