Joyce WilsonNcWhat's Up With The Cord? This is a good product. Alittle heavy, but it does a good job straightening my hair. The cord , however, is the worst! It kinks up and I spend more time than needed wrestling with it!!! PLEASE correct this frustrating feature!!!posted Apr 6, 2008Link to this post

BryannaRICHMOND,VAOff The ChainIve been wanting the Maxi-glide for a long time now, and I am so glad that I finally bought it. It took me faster than I thought it would take to straighten out my hair. Now that I have purchased the maxi-glide, I no longer need to relax my hair. But one thing I should mention is that its best if you buy a heat protection creme to apply prior to doing your hair. Overall it is an amazing product. Just look for yourself.

NopeMaxiglideThis is all hype. The maxiglide is VERY heavy and you get tired after using it a few minutes. It is bulky and difficult to use. It leaks water. It lasted a little over a year then started leaking brown fluid everywhere and wouldnt heat up. It straightens ok, but doesnt last an entire day. For the money, you can get a better iron. Good luck!posted Apr 1, 2008Link to this post

Jessica BurtHawaiiNot What They SayWell it does straighten your hair but lets say you rate really kinky hair to be a 10 then mine is probably a 5 so the commercial makes you think it should straighten it easy. Well lets just say I bought a no name flat iron from a beauty convention from a guy just trying to sell his as a new and improved one for 100 dollars and it works just as well if not better then this one. If you will have to pay more then 40 dollars go and invest in the chi or buy one from the drugs store youll be happier. I did use it on my daughters hair and she ranks at a 8 on the kinky scale and all it did was straighten it for about 10 minutes then it started to wave. I put in many different african american products to see if I could get my moneys worth but no luck. The only positive I can say about it is that it gave my daughter a great flip.Buy the way i only paid 39 dollars and I am dissappointedposted Mar 30, 2008Link to this post

AlexCaliforniaAmazing....At first I was sceptical about getting this straightener because of some reviews, But now that I got it I love it. It usually takes me like 2 hours to straighten my hair. With the Maxi Glide it takes me less than a hour. It makes my hair straight in less time and it feels and looks soo good. One thing is that my hair did poof a little.. but my hair always does, but I put in some hair syrum and its good to go. This really does work. I think peoples results differ depending on there hair. Mine is really thick and curly, and this did wonders 4 me!!posted Mar 27, 2008Link to this post

Deanna PitruzzellaAlbany, N.Y.HairCurly HairAmazingWorks very well on my thick, coarse curly hair. I have ringlets that pretty much do their own thing if they are not straightened out. Plus, my hair is highlighted so it is a little damaged. The steam really gets the kinks out and smooths your hair. I have owned this for years and I love it. I just bought another to have as an extra to keep at my boyfriends apartment.posted Mar 24, 2008Link to this post

MichelleMontclair, CAMaxiglideIve had the maxiglide for about 3 years now. It works really good if I blow dry my hair straight before I straighten it. If I didnt blow dry it first, my hair would still be poofy. Lately, Ive noticed that this straightener has made my hair look dry and the plates are sorta getting rusty thats why Im gonna try the HAI Convertable. I recommend this product, but it wont last for years and years.posted Mar 23, 2008Link to this post

BethCanadaHairAfrican AmericanI Love This Straightener!!!!!I am of African Canadian decent...I bought Maxiglide about a year ago, I love it. This is the best hair straightener I have ever used. I bought another hair straightener before this one and it didnt work, but when a friend of mine told me about Maxiglide, I couldnt wait to try it.My results were amazing! My hair is soft and shinny and straight, I love it.I have read some of the other negative reviews and I think that maybe some of these people need to read the instructions. I agree that the light is a bit bright but so what, you dont even see it while you are using the straightener. It is somewhat awkward and a bit heavy, but so are all the other straighteners out there. Once you have used it a few times you get more comfortable with it.As far as the ceramic teeth pulling out your hair...comb it first! Part small sections of hair and dont hold it so tight. If you come to a knot, comb it out and start again. If you try to do large sections of hair at once, you are not going to get the same results and holding the appliance too tight will cause breakage. READ THE DIRECTIONS.If you use the steam too close to your scalp, you will burn yourself, hot steam will burn you! Again READ THE DIRECTIONS!Okay, it only lasts for three days? Id say that three days is pretty good especially in the summer or if you are working out and sweating. Probably time to wash it anyways, and unfortunately if you want that straight hair...guess youre going to have to do it all over again. A little pain for pleasure.Once again, I love this product and would highly recommend it. I did my friends hair and obviously it was much easier than doing my own. She loves it and plans to buy one for herself.Sometimes when we buy things, we think we know how to use them, it seems pretty strait forward. But that is not always the case. If you read the directions you can avoid the majority of the problems that these other people have had, because most of them are addressed in the user guide.posted Mar 23, 2008Link to this post
