JenniferFor Those That Don't Know How To Use The MaxiglideI have read numerous reviews and can not believe the people that say their hair is damaged and being pulled out. First of all you have to set the heat setting for your hair type, or you will damage your hair....any and hair straightener product will tell you this. Second if your hair was being pulled out your were applying to much pressure to the plates. The Maxiglide is designed so that you can apply as little or as much pressure to the plates as needed to "comb" through the hair....a simple hair brush will pull hair out of head !!!! I use this flat iron on my daughter and it is the only flat iron that I can use on her hair because of the thickness and curliness of her hair. The plates with the little "combs" on it glide through her hair and it takes me half the time with the Maxiglide than it does with traditional flat plates. After 2years her hair has never been damaged because of it, we are only buying a new one because our puppy chewed the cord on the one we currently have.posted Aug 15, 2008Link to this post

TricelleLakewood, WAMaxisnap!I do not like this product at all. It pulls my hair out. My hair gets caught in it which freaks me out. It fries my hair & makes it smell terrible! Its big & weighs too much too hold for the amount of time it takes to straighten the hair! I have to go over the same spot like 5 or 6 times for it to be smooth and add body to my hair. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone.posted Jul 27, 2008Link to this post

SrsLAIt Smells (litterally)i loved the Maxiglide at first until it started becoming unbearable. it began to smell like burnt rubber and the smoke would clog my lungs. now i have to buy another hair straighter because my mom wont straighten it anymore because of the smell. also if you have thick kinky Amfrican American hair (like me) it will work the first couple of times you get it but it will start breaking your hair :(posted Jul 18, 2008Link to this post

Songbrd32St. Charles, MOFantastic Straightener, But Too BigI bought the MaxiGlide about a year and a half ago. It works fantastic, does everything it says its going to do. I love the steam burst technology. Youd be surprised just how much that little burst of steam helps in getting the stubborn areas of your hair to flatten out. My only complaint is that its so big I had to stop using it for the most part. I dont want to lift weights while im doing my hair. I suggest getting the mini-glide if you can find somewhere to purchase it on its own. So now im going to buy a CHI because its the only flat iron ive ever used that worked better than the maxi-glide.posted Jul 17, 2008Link to this post

Erin CornesBaker, LaGood For Non Humid Weather!I got this probably 2.5 years ago. I got the hair serum and frizz crap with it... whatever. that stuff was a waste of 30$.Anyways, MaxiGlide is my first "real" straightener... ive had NUMEROUS junky flat irons from Walmart, etc. this one is the best. my hair is thick and curly and frizzy! This doesnt change my normal straightening routine: blow dry--staighten (with pins first time)--wait til next AM or late the same day to re straighten (without pins), and constantly touch up.ive always done this with all irons, but this one does cut down on the time it takes to do it.My hair stays straight until i step outside. I live in Baton Rouge, La and the humidity is ridiculous. i just say "screw it" and let it be curly during the summer most of the time. WHen it is straight its pretty.I am thinking of a CHI but IDK if itll work the same with the humidity??1st pic- i have cury pics, but this one is so funny--after blow drying obviously--4 years ago i think2nd pic- 2 years ago. i DO have clothes on- i was at prom. i just got my iron not long ago

MadelineNew York, New YorkIt Works Wonders!!When i first bought this iron i was kind of skeptical but once i started getting a handle on how to use it...it worked great...my hair is curly/wavy so its a little harder to get through it...but once am done with doing my hair..it looks like its done by a professional on a beauty parlor...the only cons of this iron is after a long while it starts chipping...and it pulls my hair..but besides that its worth the money!!

RobynDelawareIt's Ok...After owning the Maxiglide for a little over 2 years, I am still impressed with its ability to straighten my hair the way I like. Over the years my hair has become thin, but I find it hard to find a good straightener. Anyway, the temp thing has broken on mine and I feel it leaves a really nasty smell when I am straightening my hair. It doesnt make my hair stink. but the odor in my room really does bother me from it. I would recommend this to others but only if you are willing to pay the money.posted Jul 15, 2008Link to this post

Ashley P.Seattle, WashingtonGreat ProductIt straightens well but the only problems I have is that it is a little bulky and the flashing LED light is so annoying I dont recommend using the ones with the combing thingy instead use the flat iron!posted Jul 11, 2008Link to this post
