Hot Tools Professional Flat Iron

JenWorks Great-- Lasted A Long TimeA friend bought this for me about three years ago, and Ive loved it! I have VERY thick and coarse hair, which is hard to straighten. It got very hot and did the job well. Finally, after three years of off and on daily use the plastic around the plates got brittle and broke off. Ive heard a lot about the ceramic plate flat irons and am wondering how much better they can work. The one thing I didnt like was that sometimes my hair would catch on the plates and snag.posted Dec 22, 2005Link to this post

JenniferNew JerseyGets The Job Done But...I have had many hair straighteners, my hair is extra curly and I have so much hair it takes me about an hour to get it straight. Hot tools did work, but by the end it pulled out a lot of my hair. It also didnt last very long, I had to buy a new one after only using it for about a few months. This hair straightener wasnt awful, but if you are going to buy one, go with one that is ceramic or tourmaline. I got a new Vidal Sasson Cermaic hair straightener and it works so much better. My hair doesnt get pulled out and it makes my hair so much smoother and much straighter. It also didnt cost that much. But hot tools is definately not the way to go.posted Dec 21, 2005Link to this post

NicoleCaNot So GoodMy hair is curly and fairly dry, and after using a $20 drugstore iron i went for this one. while it worked somewhat better, it still left my hair dry and splitting.also, if it was a rainy day, my hair would become a puffy straight with some waves. after having it about a year or so, it has started squeaking and if the cord bends one way, it flickers on and off and then all the way off.posted Dec 20, 2005Link to this post

CLove ItIve owned this straigtener for at least 3 years. I absolutely love it. I have very thick, curly hair and this iron gives me perfectly straight locks. Ive tried many straigteners in the past and this is by far the best. Im getting ready to buy another one just to have in case anything happens to mine. For all of those who complain about frizz, thats just what happens with certain hair types. I suggest going to your local salon and buying e.textureline hot style ironing creme. Its about 13.00 a bottle but well worth it. Put it in your hair, use your straightener and you have straight hair with some body to it.posted Dec 17, 2005Link to this post

AmyI Don't Really Like It!I used this one and I have very fried out hair and alot of split ends. My hair is fairly thick, and curly and by the time I get to school my hair is already starting to frizz up. I am getting a knew one this Christmas, the 10 heat settings are great but Im not happy with the results from this hot-iron.posted Dec 14, 2005Link to this post

DanaHouston, TXWorks Great !I love this hot iron! I have tried so many (even the expensive over hyped Chi Hot Iron) and nothing straightens my hair as well as this one. I have VERY thick hair and it takes about an hour to straighten because I have to put about an inch at a time in the iron. It doesnt damage my hair and it keeps it straight for 2 days (w/ some minor touch ups needed). For those complaining it damages your hair, these hot irons shouldnt be used on a daily basis. And if your hair begins to frizz or curl up, try ironing your hair in smaller, thinner portions.posted Dec 13, 2005Link to this post

JessicaDissappointedWhen i first bought this iron i was so in love with it, i actually bought all my friends ones. After about 9 months it just stopped working (it wouldnt heat up) so i went out and brought another one and it stopped working after only 5 months and totally fried my hair. i actually ended up cutting off most of my hair to relieve the damage. So this iron is great at first but then you just get what you pay for!posted Dec 11, 2005Link to this post

MiriamToronto, CanadaThe Best Straitener Ever...!!this "straitener" is truly one of the best made. i have been using it for over 3 years and i have to buy i knew one because i lent it to a friend that left it on a plastic bag that it melted... i therefore need to buy a new one. i have medium curly hair, and it takes me a little bit over half an hour to use and my hair stays "stick strait" for as long as i want. i would recomend this to you to use it is cheap and VERY affective!posted Dec 11, 2005Link to this post

VaniSeattle, WASo So...My hair is extremely course & very curly. This iron did a decent job the first couple time I used it, but then it just got worse and worse. It absolutly FRIED my hair, creating more split ends than imaginable. I would reccomend making a larger investment in something a little better.posted Dec 5, 2005Link to this post
