Hot Tools Helix Multi-Function Styling Iron

Need A New StraightenerAn Ok Hair Styler......3 stars = average .... & this styling iron is just that . works well for curling hair , however takes about 5 or more strokes to straighten 1 inch of wavy hair . ALSO , damages hair BADLY & does not add shine whatsoever .I thought it would be fine to bring this tool overseas with the use of a converter, but iron buzzzed and smoked and eventually melted ... LITERALLY . first the tips melted off & finally the sides melted off too ! ** looked like it was merely plastic inside !posted Jul 30, 2008Link to this post

JanBoulder, ColoradoJust OkThis iron was a little disappointing in that it did not seem to shut flat or tight enough on my hair. It did the job, and my hair was smooth and silky after, but it took a bit longer than I thought it would. It also pulled my hair more than once. The curling feature is nice, although I can see burning myself, as the iron heats up all around - inside, top and bottom. I can only compare it to a much less expensive model Ive had for at least 2 years now, and I would say this Helix model is nice and does a pretty good job, but there are probably better models out on the market, for a little more money.posted Apr 26, 2008Link to this post

JudithNYExpected MoreGot this hoping to create curls as wells as straight styles. First off the joints on the paddles caught my hair and pulled it out. Next, it took forever to heat up. Finally, the flat paddles did not lend themselves to making the barrel curls I wanted so it ended up being sent back. I am not very good at making curls and waves so this probably had something to do with my decision.posted Oct 6, 2007Link to this post
