AshleyVashon, WAI Love ItI got my straightener about 1.5 months ago and it works really well. i have crazy hair and it straightens it in about 15 minutes. It does pull your hair, but thats because the chunk of hair you put in is too wide/big/thick. the purple stuff is NOT coming off, nor do i think it ever will, but i guess ill find out with time if it actually does. This is a good straightener, and i would reccommend it to anyone who wants straight hair. :)posted Jul 6, 2006Link to this post

AshantiAtlanta, GAGood With The Bad...........This flat iron really straigtened my hair. Yes the ceramic does chip over time and it occasionally will pull your hair, but overall I was satisfied with the results. My real problem with this flat iron was the handle. One night I wrapped the cord around the base including the handle, which pushed the plates closed. When I came back the next day, the pressure from the plates being closed caused one of the plates to break. It broke right at the area where the plates and handle meet. Big disappointment! So if you have one or are considering buying, DO NOT wrap the cord around the handle!posted Jul 4, 2006Link to this post

ClaireTexasDon't Waste Your Money....I got this flat iron for my birthday a couple years ago...back then it was a bit more pricy...around $50. I had to wait 483028289 hours for it to heat up, and after about 10 months, the handle of it fell off!!! (keep in mind, it has a 1 year warranty) It also doesnt have an automatic shut off, like most flat irons do, and one time i acc. forgot to turn it off when i left for school. I came home and the stool it was sitting on had burned, and 1/2 of the ceramic part melted.posted Jun 23, 2006Link to this post

BonniePortland, ORRoit..I have this same flat iron in a two inch version. Ive had it for almost three years now, and it has yet to fail me. I checked it over before doing this review, and there is no ceramic chipping off at all. Honestly, this iron is wonderful . I honestly think the people who have bad things to say about it are not taking care of their products. My sister has had her hot tools (it was a metal plated one) since highschool, and since she graduated from college about 5 years ago, thats over 9 years! My sister eventually bought a BaByliss ceramic, and gave the metal plated hot tools to my other sister, and its still alive and kickin, and works just like the day she bought it.posted Jun 15, 2006Link to this post

K KesslerIt Sucks!!I bought this iron in January. It is now May. The ceramic has already started chipping. The handle doesnt let me open and shut the barrell, I have to squeeze it shut, and it pulls my hair!! What a waste of money!posted May 27, 2006Link to this post

MegNJSo Badthis straightner does get hot, but the one thng i could not stand was it pulled my hair, it would get caught in the sides of the straightner so then my hair not only frizzed and ripped it burned too because it was stuck in there. i wouldnt reccomend this to anyone with long/medium thick hair, i had a lot of trouble with it.posted May 25, 2006Link to this post
