Had To Replace It Three Times!!
this was a terrible iron. when it turns on it makes a weird noise and then the purple ceramics started to wear off after only a few uses. i returned it and got another one and that one broke and then i got another one but it was just as bad as the others and still makes that weird noise.

    Pros And Cons
I have thick coarse naaapy african american 4b hair.

Okay if this iron were to go down to 10 dollars i would rebuy just because once the purple ceramic rubs off you should no longer use it.

Okay it snags the hair if you put your hair too close to that area After a while you get used to it and know how not to get snags.

It is an AMAZING flat iron with 10 different setting, I use mine on 4 or 5. I considered buying again and saw it online for 30 on amazon or ebay or somewhere. i ioriginally got it at my hair store for 40.

I say do not purhcase this unless you can afford not having the ceramic on it and dont care Once the ceramic is gone th eiron works just as great. BUT its not good for your hair without it.

This iron works FANTASTIC Im not lying. I used my friends sedu and it was nOTHING compared to this. Seriously if hot tools changed it so it is layers of ceramic and not a coating this iron would be waaaaaay better than sedu. Sedu is sooo overrated and I dont know why, But yes if you dont buy this one buy a FHI platform if you can afford that. i just got one andt its great

    :)
I love this straightener. I have the 1 1/2 inch one though. There's only three flaws that I can think of; & it's that my hair gets caught where the plastic & the iron meet, that all the purple metal wears off, & that it has curved sides & it's easy to burn yourself. But besides these flaws it's an amazing straightener. I've used CHI straightener's & they don't seem to straighten my hair as goo as this straightener. It also lasts a really long time, I've had this straightener for 4 years, & my sister had it for a few years before me; it just barely broke. But I'd highly recomend this straightener.

    Ehh
I'm not a fan of this flat iron. Although it lasts for a long time (I've had it for like 5 years), the purple paint is completely gone, my hair gets caught between where the plates meet the plastic and it hurts pretty bad. Also, everytime I use it, it fills the room with that burning hair smell so I'm sure it does a lot of damage. It straightens my hair to an extent (I have poofy, wavy, frizzy, stubborn hair) but it doesn't stay that way for very long. It's also an awkward design..the handle always gets locked in that latch thing and somethings hits the off button. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

    Ehhh, I'm Over It.
I've had this flat iron for about 4 years. From the day I bought it, it snagged my hair. I was in college and too cheap to buy a new one, so I kept using it. Now, there is some nasty film all over the sides of the iron (possibly a build up of product?) Basically I'm over this piece of junk. While it DID get the job done, it is also pretty flawed. Don't waste your money.

    Best Iron
If only for the handle design which makes it easier to apply presure without getting burnt. I have had mine for over 10 years and it finally stopped working. I have spend more money on the latest and greatest flat irons only to finally find someone that still sells this model.

    Peeling And Snagging
I have had this iron for 1 year and it has peeled, which in turn snags my hair and makes it frizzy and dry! So if you want something long term do not buy this product!

It Sparked And Melted The Cord!
At the base of my Flatiron where the cord leads in just sparked and melted and died on me last night. I have only had this iron for 6 months. It started acting up lastweek when the light was flickering on and off. I loved the job it did on my hair, i just wish it didnt go on the fritz. Another thing to consider if you are thinking about buying this iron is that the handle is kind of awkward and the plates round out the sides...which melted my carpet one day because i set it on its side. It gets nice and hot and makes the hair smooth. And going back to my old one inch made me realize that the hot tool is super heavy the 2 inch plates are not necessary. My arms would get tired with the hot tools flat iron because it was so heavy and i have thick hair. Hope this review helps! =]
