AbbyWaste Of Timemy aunt bought us this flat iron. it was the first one we've ever used. one would think that it wold work well, but much to my disappointment it did nothing but BURN MY HAIR. i wanted to flat iron my hair for a new look but it just made it worse. I tried putting grease, but then you can hear your hair burning!!!. it always gets dirty, and its pretty heavy. unless, you just want your hair to look poofy and tangle-free, you should not buy it.posted Nov 25, 2009Link to this post

Brooke LynnHairAfrican AmericanIt Burns Your Hair!!I used to be frineds with this girl who had one and after using hers I decided to get one myself because it really straightened my hair nicely the first couple of times I used it. I'm African-American. At the time my hair wasn't relaxed so it was coarse. After using my friend's and buying one myself, I was impressed that it was able to straighten my hair better than a relaxer. This only lasted maybe a month. Why? 1)it damages your hair. Seriously, the ends come out really really dry and hard. Your hair gets burned! Its as bad as going to the Domincan hair salons because it causes the same heat damage. 2) you can't put anything on your hair before using it because it only burns your hair even more! And on top of that you can actually hear your hair frying. It gets really hot! Extremely hot! To the point where I've burned myself several times touching my own hair! 3) it leaves a weird smell in your hair. 4) the iron itself gets dirty. Honestly, it's nice to find a product that is meant for black hair, because there aren't many out there that works on this hair type but this product needs some serious improvements. MariposaNew JerseyWorks For Me!I have been using this product for 10 years and it has always straightened my hair beautifully. I have long frizzy hair (almost touches my butt). The qulaity of the straightening depends on the products you use with the straightener. I use a smoothing shampoo following by a humectant conditioner. I let my hair towel dry for about 40 minutes and let the iron preheat for about 20 minutes on the highest setting. I section my hair in pieces using clips. I apply Razac cream to each section and brush it. I then press the iron several times, brushing the sections in between pressing. When I am finished, I pass the blow dryer through the roots...I dont like to place the iron too close to my scalp. To finish the the look I spray Motions Oil Moisturer for a shiny, soft, silky look. I apply the Oil Moisturizer Daily until the week is up and start all over again.posted Dec 9, 2008Link to this post

CcHairCurly HairIt Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lemme tell you, I bought this lousy piece of nothing for only $30, and it made my frizzy, very, very, VERY curly hair look like a witchs wig that u would wear on halloween. i am 12 and i am telling u DO NOT PURCHASE THIS STRAIGHTENER. It is a waste of time and money. The ceramic plates are horrible, and it takes me at least 2 hours to straighten it. Not to mention curly hair does get frizzy, and this suckish thing just made my hair frizzier and unnatural. Once again, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS STRAIGHTENER. It is a waste of time, money, and EVERYTHING. It SUCKS.posted Jan 30, 2008Link to this post

CristinaCaliforniaHairCurly HairAre You Serious?my aunt had bought the straightener for me. when i got it i was soo excited. the first time i used it i loved it. but as the more times i used it, the less satisfaction i got from it. the heat settings are really bad, and you would have to straighten the section over and over again to get standard results. the gold-n-hot straightener is not the type of straightener that you would use if you have very coarse or curly hair. after a while the straightener started not to work and it gave of a horrible stench that stunk up my room. and the cord was always curlin up making it difficult to straighten your hair. save your time and your mone, DONt EVER BUy A GOlD-N-HOt StRAiGHtENER. EVER!posted Jul 26, 2007Link to this post

ClareMichiganStraightens Good, Makes Hair Stink!!When I first used the GoldNHot I used it at my friends house, and I was amazed with the results it was flat and amazing. But when i purchased mine, the gold plates blackened with time, and as it heats up it smokes and the smoke smells to me like copper or fish. My hair smells like burn and metal and people tell me often that it smells like i havent showered in monthes. Dont get this flat iron its not worth it. Its terrible.posted Apr 2, 2006Link to this post
