Absolutely Wonderful!There is nothing that this straightener cannot do! It is actually more than a flatiron but an overall hair designer-it curls, straightens, and waves the hair. And, it doesn't snag or pull outt the hair ever. It is very expensive, because of the great quality of this iron. I live in the South where it is very humid almost all year round. This iron allows for my hair to stay straight even in high humidity. A good hair care regimen (including products that will allow your hair to stay healthy and damage free) will allow for you to have the best looking looking hear of your life couple with this iron. This iron heats up quicker than any other of the professional irons that I own. I never experience any flyaways or static to my hair after flatironing my hair with this superb flatiron. The flatiron has a safety feature which allows it to automatically cut off its heaters if the iron goes 30 minutes with non-use. So, you don't have to worry about possibly burning the house down, if you forget to turn off the flatiron before leaving your home. And, it doesn't overheat on the outside due to its wonderful technology. It offers universal voltage, so the iron can be used all over the world. It has a swivel cord attachment. So, this keeps the cord from getting twisted. It also has This flat iron is easy to clean. It never leaves my hair with a burnt smell to it hours after it has been used in my hair. And, it has unique digital technology that allows for excellent temperature control and great styling. This is a wonderful product that I recommend to people of all races and haitypes. Wonderful!I have to say that after all the research I did; read hundreds of reviews, read facts and details on the product, researched certified authentic retailers/dealers of GHD, I was NOT dissapointed in any way. This flat iron is by far the best. I have had it for 3 months now (I replaced my CHI which I now use for short weekend trips) and am in love. It glides through my hair, does noticeably far less damage than a CHI (anything that applies direct high heat to your hair is going to cause damage, no matter what it costs or how you protect it), does not snag or break hair, leaves it smooth, shiny, healthy feeling, and soft! No sizzling sounds or burning smell. Heats up super FAST, the sleep mode really does work, and the GHD feels good in your grip. Only "defect", if any, that I noticed was the that GHD smoked when I would set it down in between sections. Could be the heat protectant's residue that I put in my hair just burning off the plates? Either way, its in no way bothersome and does not inhibit the performance of the GHD. I would recommend this product to any one at any time. I combine the use of this iron with CHI and Bumble & Bumble products to protect my hair. For healthy hair, be sure to let your hair "rest" completely from heat tools for at least 1 to 2 days and a once a week clarifying treatment before the day of hair "rest". Just some of my thoughts, BUT GHD's are well worth the money when it comes to the safety and beauty of your hair. Please be sure to call GHD to verify authorized retailers of their products, register your GHD once it arrives, and check that it has plug with a "test" and "reset" button on it. Oh, and pardon my goofy "before" picure! LOL

Great, But Some Changes Can Be Madei recently received the GHD iv dark styler and was impressed with the design and the use of the flat iron. i went on to unbox all the things in there. i do have to say that i had a bit of a hard time in taking the actual flat iron out of the box until i realized i had to tear the plastic covering off, silly me! i haven't purchased GHD's before so i was a bit surprised that it didn't allow me to adjust the temperature of the iron. putting that aside, i decided to go ahead and see what else was in the box. of course i watched the dvd, they just gave you some tips on how to use the flat iron to achieve different looks, although i would honestly have to say that i wasn't too impressed with it. i read through the brochures and went on in plugging the flat iron in. like i mentioned before, i was surprised that the iron didn't allow me to control the temperature, but i went on in turning it on. i was amazed that it turned on and heated so quickly. i decided to part my hair in half to test the iron out; one half would be straight and the other wavy. my hair is naturally straight on the crown area and goes into smooth waves. with my hair dried and sprayed with a heat protection spray, i decided to do the first half straight and really loved the fact that the hair glided through so easily and smoothly. i didn't have to go over the hair more than once to achieve the straight look. it also didn't take me long to finish straightening the hair. after that was finished i went on into curling the other half. i was able to curl my hair and twist the iron without my hair snagging and the plates made my hair able to glide through easily. i did however notice that the hair didn't stay in the middle while i was twisting the iron, but that could've just been due to my part. overall i would recommend this flat iron to others. i would like it to have had the option where i could adjust the temperature, but the one it's set for seemed to do the job. i haven't had this for long, so i can't review on the lasting quality of the device, but for performance i can't complain. it is a steep price for a flat iron, but remember that it's your hair! i didn't have any issues with this pulling out hairs, tugging or anything like that.posted Sep 20, 2009Link to this post -

Ghd ThoughtsI bought my GHD from Beautychoice.com ONLY because after two weeks of extensive research I discovered that they were indeed an authorized retailer for the US GHDs. I contacted GHD corporate as well as the US GHD distributers AND I contacted BeautyChoice.com. Both parties were very helpful in verifying their products authenticity. You must do this kind of extensive research when spending the amount of money they are asking for. Trust me, its worth it!Unfortunately I could not verify that Folica.com sold genuine GHDs. :( Anyway, this product is amazing. I did indeed purchase GHD Dark. Its amazing and leaves my hair incredibly straight and silky soft. I recommend it to anyone who has wavy to curly or unruly hair. People with naturally tame or straight hair should probably stick with a CHI since GHDs are so expensive. CHI works very well BUT GHD is just the best flat iron out there. Especially if you want to achieve that super sleek look and have trouble keeping it.
