Amazing!This is SO much better than a Chi. It doesn't have a heat setting, but I found that you don't need one. It heats up SO fast and will automatically shut itself off if you leave it on too long (no need to leave work in a panic that you left your straightener on). Lovely Results!I brought this for two reasons: replacement of my CHI that I had become unhappy with (and could never use while traveling) and wanted a dual voltage that I could take with me on vacations and regular trips to the UK. My first use was during a trip to the UK. I will update this review if my use at my home in Florida differs from the experience overseas.
I have color treated, medium length, curly hair and used the guidelines on GHD's site to determine which flat iron would be best for my hair.
I got two days of different hairstyles out of a single wash and blowdry using Brocado's Cloud 9 blowout and hotshapes, scrunching, piece flat ironing and velcro rollers or used iron to make waves or all over straightening. I was outside a lot and had to deal with wind and some dampness -- the flat ironing, whether wavy or straight remained intact, shiny and frizz free. The free heat mat with my order was very helpful also.
I would recommend the GHD flat iron. The ends of my hair look much better from a style perspective with the GHD flat iron than they did using my old flat iron.

Ghd, Sedu, BabylissI have literally tried almost all the straighteners in the market. My hair is very fine and wavy. I live in Miami, where it is very hot and very humid. And after several straighteners this is what I have to say: 1. Sedu- it is excellent up until the point when it stops heating up. When I got it I was impressed at how good it was. It truthfully leaves hair very straight and very soft, very fast. But after about a year it starts heating up less and less. Until the point where it doesn't produce a long lasting straightening job and ur hair puffs up in the middle of the night. Trust me - it has happened to several people who ive recommended this straightener too. 2. Babyliss- Another excellent iron but MAJORLY damaging. I cannot imagine using this straightener everyday and having a strand of hair left on my head. It heads up ALOT and the plates don't feel smooth like the ones of the Sedu, they feel more like metal. It will produce pin straight hair, but it will also cause ur hair some major damage, especially in the long run. Would never, risk the health of my hair for any iron. 3. GHD- I have a deluxe version of this straightener, I bought a pink limited edition and paid over $200. Trust me it is worth EVERY PENNY. I thought that the fact that it did not have temperature settings was a bad thing, but trust me, it heats up to very high temperature and adjusts to ur hair needs. It lets u know when it is ready and also turns off when it is not in use. It is easy to use, and since it is kinda round around the edges it is perfect for making curls. This is the only straightener to buy. I could sit here for ever and brag about it but my recommendation is that you should go ahead and purchase it yourself. Not As Impressed As Though (read!!!! Why)i have extremely curly frizzy hair.So for christmas i got the CHI ultra which i loved until about four months when i found out there was better flat irons out there and that CHI's are noun to fry hair. My hair did break off about a inch. So i read great reviews on the ghd. I decided to purchase it i was not as impressed as the reviews. It heats up very fast. It made my hair more shinny and silkier then my CHI but did not get as straight. I'm planning to take it back to buy a different flat iron. I do not think this flat iron was worth the price. However,my friend who have fine to medium thick hair think it works great! i think for us curly gals and guys we need to keep searching. It Worked Great Until It Quit Working. I Get A Fast Beeping When I Turn It On And It Won't HeatI get a fast beep when I turn it on and it won't heat. I googled the problem and see it's a common problem. One fix was to heat the plates before turning it on. This worked one time.
Now I have to replace an overly expensive flat iron that lived just past the warranty time. Not a happy GHD user.

Best Flat Iron.... Ever!!This flat iron is amazing it can straighten the curliest of hair and trust me on that. I have tight little ringlet curls and it used to take me over an hour to straighten my hair (and they were not even salon quality results). With this flat iron I am done within 20-30 minutes and it looks just like I went to the salon. This iron also heats up so fast and adjusts it temperature to your hair type. Not only that but it can also curl and wave your hair so its like a 3 in 1. I Love My Ghd ! The Best Flatiron In The World <3i knew i wanted a really good flat iron and found this website from watching youtube videos . i found out about the ghd and was amazed . i was lowkey stuck deciding between the GHD and the SEDU . but the GHD won because of the record timing for heating up . . this flat iron gets my hair straight and leaves a bounce like no other. my hair is shiny and feels great when im done . thiis is definately the best flat iron out and i would recomend it to everyone. i do hate the fact that it cost me $185. thats the only CON i have about it . its just way toooo EXPENSIVE . but it was worth it because i do hair . my clients love it, and so do i ! i will never use another flat iron again !
