TaraRockland, NYIm Pleased With My Purchasei bought this for my mother who has hair on the shorter side. after she blow dries it she just smoothes it over with this iron and it comes out nice. i tried the iron my self and it heats up quick, and the plates glide nice and smooth over the hair. it leaves the hair nice and smooth and straight. i have no complaints about this flat iron.posted Jan 30, 2008Link to this post

DeniseKansas City,Mo.From Coarse To Silky! After shampooing and conditioning, and blow drying a head of hair that is naturally kinky and coarse this flat iron went through the hair easier than slicing a piece of cake!Result: Pure silk in the end!For someone whos still using a Chi iron or a professional using an oven with a thermal flat iron- make your job easier with this iron. I would highly recommend this iron.Ive had the FHI iron for almost three months and still loving it. Excellent quality!posted Jan 28, 2008Link to this post

KatHouston, TXIt's Okay...Good deal for the price I guess but does not work as well as the Chi or Tru Ceramic that I had previously. I live in Houston, TX so I am always fighting the humidity and while the others would withstand in the wet air, with this one my hair is wavy again by the end of the afternoon. Not a bad product...just not as good as the others. The price was right though. :)posted Jan 25, 2008Link to this post

AmandaAtlanta, GADon't Waste Your Money!I decided to get this iron because it was a good price and I wanted to get something less mainstream than something like the CHI. However I highly regretted it as soon as I got it! When you clamp down the iron if you look carefully you will see that the plates dont close completely. Only the end of the plates do! (unless you clamp it down very firmly which will cause your hair to burn more). I returned it because I want the my hair to receive EVEN heat distribution.posted Jan 14, 2008Link to this post

LoveFayetteville, NCI've Finally Found An Iron To LoveMy husband purchased this iron for me and I love it. Im African American with healthy, although coarse, color-treated hair. Ive been trying forever to find an iron that gives me the same look that a professional stylist does. I tried the CHI and it made my hair hard and brittle. I returned it and purchased a generic CHI, which in my opinon worked better. However, my new iron still didnt leave me with a silky finish. Furthermore, after a day or two the humid NC weather made my hair frizzy and brittle looking. In comes FHI! Now my hair is silky straight and stays that way for days. Another added bonus is that it takes half the time that the other flat irons took to straighten my hair. It really just glides through. If your searching for an iron to love, I definitely suggest trying the FHI.posted Dec 26, 2007Link to this post

SusanDenver, ColoradoI Love My Fhi But . . .Ive had my FHI for a year or 2 now (cant remember exactly when I bought it). It still works great except for the fact the the protective coating has worn off the edges of the plates - not the flat surface. I didnt pay much attention to that fact until I started noticing that Im loosing some hair each time I run the iron through my hair. Darn! I would have continued to use the iron until it stopped working, but I dont want to continue to loose hair each time I use it, which is pretty much every day.posted Dec 22, 2007Link to this post

DaphneMississippiMuch Better Than The Chi!!!I have owned this iron for about 3 1/2 years now. I have absolutely loved it! It has started to look a little old so I had decided to replace it back around Thanksgiving. My hairdresser told me they were having a sale on the Chis so I decided to buy one. After two weeks of continual use...I hated it! I decided to go back to my old beat up FHI that still works much better even after using daily for 3 1/2 years! I just cant say enough about this. I have above the shoulders highlighted hair & its perfect every day thanks to FHI!posted Dec 19, 2007Link to this post

CarmenWonderful Flat Iron!Ive tried over-the-counter ceramic flat irons in the past and finally decided to purchase a professional one. I purchased the 1"FHI w/variable temp controls and love it. I can totally straighten my daughters natural, kinky hair on 425 degrees. I can wear my relaxed hair straight or curl it with this flat iron at 300degrees. It also makes it possible for me to go longer inbetween relaxer applications because of how it straightens my new growth. If anything ever happens to my iron, Ill be buying another one immediately!posted Dec 11, 2007Link to this post
