FHI Ceramic Flat Iron with Variable Temperature - 1"

AnonymousPanama City Beach, FLGood, But....Ive been using my FHI for a little over a year. It worked really great straightening my thick wavy hair. However, shortly after the warranty period expired, the plates started melting the surrounding plastic. Now I have to buy another flat iron - it wont be the FHI. Maybe the Sedu will last longer.posted Mar 25, 2008Link to this post

SharonDetroit, MIFhi Flat IronI have ordered this flat iron before and I loved it then but when it went missing I just went to the beauty supply and bought another brand. This was a very bad idea. After using a FHI flat iron for more than a year the difference was extremely noticable. This flat iron has an adjustable heat setting so you can be sure to get the straightening effect that you want. Its the best on the market for maintaining a smooth straight style.posted Mar 11, 2008Link to this post

AnonoymousTorontoExcellentI bought this flat iron after having tried both the sedu and the solia (which are good as well). I really like this flat iron. Its lightweight, yet durable. It was easy to use and manuever around the hair to create twists. It didnt leave me tired, annoyed, and in pain holding the iron like the solia did. As for the results, it is not as sleek as the SEDU, but it definately a time saver it took me all of 10-15 minutes to do my whole hair, and it looked smooth and straight and stayed that way all week. What I like about it is that it is lightweight, gets really hot (450 degrees), takes a short amount of time to flat iron my hair, and the results are smooth, frizz free straight hair, whats their not to love.posted Mar 9, 2008Link to this post

DivaATL, GaI Love It!! Chi Who??? ;-)i am a african american woman with very natural thick coarse hair...its like a brillo pad..lol. anywho, i purchased the fhi after using my soroity sisters fhi. This iron works wonders it presses my hair silky stR8, with out burning it. My press can last about a week....which is a very long time for women with natural hair. This is sooo much better than any other flat iron i have EVER used..including the CHI!!! i do want to add, i use protective products....like the design essentials silkner or kera caress silk n seal, as well conditioning my hair when i wash it. this helps alot...Use good products. if you buy cheap and you get cheap results.posted Mar 5, 2008Link to this post

MoniqueDEHairAfrican AmericanCurly HairDon't Buy If You Have Tight Curly Frizzy HairSo I bought this flat iron because of the amazing reviews. I have tight curly hair (3c/4a) African American hair that is fine, but I have a lot of it. The first week I used the FHI flat iron, I was not impressed. But, I decided to give it another try because I didnt use great products and got lazy after blow drying my hair and took big chunks. So, next week I used anti-frizz products and Chi silk infusion and I parted my hair in tiny sections and flat iron. It took me two hours to flat iron my hair and I had it on 370. I had to pass each section through the flat iron at least three times. After all that work my hair turned out great. But here is the catch, as soon as I turned on my heat for 10 minutes my hair poofed as if I didnt even flat iron my hair. I went ice skating the same night, I worked up a little sweat and but the rink was cold and my hair was completely gone. The next morning I woke and my hair was extremely poofy and frizzy. I tried to use the flat iron again to go over my hair and even though it was hot my hair was frizzy. You would think because this flat iron get really hot that the straightening job would last. But, it didnt I am going to trade it in and get the CHI. My Revlon can do a better job than this flat iron. Dont waste your money unless you have a perm, which I dont or really straight hair. The pictures show what type of hair texture I have, the second picture is after I straightened it and before it became poofy.

BrittneyAtlanta, GAThe Best Flat Iron I've Used So FarThis flat iron straightens my coarse hair very well. I use this once a week after I wash my hair, and it stays straight until I wash it again. I reccommend this for those with very coarse or relaxed (African American) hair. Just dont forget to deep condition and use a thermal spray for heat protection!!!posted Feb 12, 2008Link to this post

JillNot Pleased.I have had this model iron since 2003 and wanted to replace it but was shocked when I found a $160 price tag at my local store. When I found it here for half that I thought it was too good to be true and I believe that it was. The red plates are supposed to darken when they are heated and this one they stay bright red. At the highest setting it was nowhere near as hot as my old one and I am left to think that this is not the same. Im not sure why they would be different...but I am also not sure why Folica.com is able to sell it for 1/2 price. Just beware. Im sure the iron works fine for most people, but it is NOT what I was expecting and I dont think I will be purchasing from this site again.posted Feb 11, 2008Link to this post

DawnDyersburg, TNThis Fhi Flat Iron Is Fabulous...It straightens, it curls, it shapes in every way without drying my hair. I have a short cut with blended highlights and the variable heat settings make all the difference. It heats up quickly. This is a must-have! I highly recommend it.posted Feb 2, 2008Link to this post
