Adrian B.OhHairDark BrownCurly HairThick or Coarse HairRelaxed HairBurning, Damaging And PullingThis flat Iron gets so hot that even when I use a heat protecting spray my hair is fried. The worst thing about this item is that it pulls the hair out of my head, I can feel and hear the snapping... Therefore I would not suggest this flat iron to anyone, my hair was thick healthy, shiny and beautiful and now I have to spend a lot of $$$$$$ to by repair products and not to mention get my hair chopped off.posted Nov 11, 2012Link to this post

TaylorFloridaHairMedium BrownNormal HairDry HairCurly HairColor Treated HairThick or Coarse HairNot Worth The PriceI found this straightener at a department store for $30 and the ruby red color had me so excited. When I first plugged it in, it made crackling noises as it heated up. It heated up quickly and was so-so at straightening the few pieces I tried, but it does pull the hair. I am in need of a haircut to manage my ends, but I was surprised to find that the straightener was pulling the little pieces out and making the split ends worse. I didn't use on my whole head, since I've already decided to return it, so I didn't give it a chance to pull out whole strands of hair - though I have no doubts it would have. Since I live in Florida, the humidity forbids me from straightening too often - but I am moving to Germany and was hoping to find a straightener that wouldn't damage my hair so I could take advantage of the colder weather. I will be returning this & would not recommend this to anyone who straightens their hair frequently as it will do a lot of damage.posted Oct 15, 2012Link to this post

BlackgirlhairNew JerseyHairBlackCurly HairThick or Coarse HairThis Is The Best Flat Iron For Black Girl Kinky And Nappy Natural Hair! Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bought, was doubtful it would be a good one because of the discounted price, but guuurrrlll was I wrong. This got my hair silky straight!!! It was smooth on my hair. I see other people are saying it fried their hair but it didn't do that to mine and I used it on 450 degrees. However, please note that you must flat iron your hair in very small sections and I only do touch ups like once a week. I make sure I wrap my hair every night. So perhaps the people who have fried hair use this on their hair every day. Also, I have noticed that the texture of my hair has changed. I don't have a relaxer and my hair is 100% natural and very long thanks to wearing sew ins for the past 6 years. But after using this flat iron I can wash my hair and add leave in conditioner (mixed chicks) and rock my hair natural with beautiful curls instead of the dry afro I used to have. This is 1000000 times better than a relaxer! Worth every penny!!!!!!!posted Sep 12, 2012Link to this post

Olga M.CanadaHairDark BrownCurly HairColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairMakes Wonderful CurlsMakes great curls but started tugging my hair after about a month using it. I picked the dual set up at winners for $39.99. It heats up nicely but I should have spent my money towards a better one.posted Sep 8, 2012Link to this post

AshleyIndianaHairMedium BrownDry HairDon't Make The Same Mistake I DidI've been looking for a new flat iron for a few weeks now online. I've found that it depends on someone's mere opinon of the "best" flat iron, given that we all have different hair textures. It was packaged nicely, very appealing plum color and crafted beautifully. Unfortunately I didn't buy this for the looks, because this flat iron did NOT deliver. It took me much, much longer to "straighten" my hair and I had to repeat the sections with little to no success. Even my boyfriend said that my hair looks more fried than to begin with. Ouch! When I turn it on, it crackles, the sound reminds me of drizzling water on a hot skillet. The plates pull at the hair and is not a smooth gesture. My hair has a slight wave to it, I would hate to see what you ladies with curly, or kinky hair would go through with this!posted Sep 3, 2012Link to this post

AlexiaOntario, CANADAHairBlackDry HairColor Treated HairThick or Coarse Hair"fabulous Flat Iron"!!!Before I started my first time use of this iron, I read all of the posted reviews & I have to admit I was a bit scared. I bought this exact iron at my local Marshalls store the other day for $39.99. Great looking iron & an awesome price tag for us Canadians. I have black butt length hair & had recently layered the entire hair from my chin all the way down. Looks good but needs some va va voom because it is so long & heavy. So I tried this, this evening & I have to say it's absolutely a great iron. My stylist uses FHI & straightens my hair at 470 F & all I see is smoke coming from his iron & my hair-not good! So I curled my hair at 400 F. All I did was take small sections of my hair & wrap the ends around the flat iron for 30 seconds each time, AMAZING! So many strong healthy curls, fabulous volume, but I did also put CHI silk infusion throughout my entire hair before starting, very important! To all of those ladies out there who are afraid or disappointed in this iron. Take a good look at the condition of your hair before playing with any iron. I personally believe that 450 F is too hot for anyone's hair. My hair is coloured black & is naturally very healthy & I will not use 450 F or anything higher than that. I believe that too high of a temperature will scorch anyones hair in a one time use or thru time.posted Jul 24, 2012Link to this post

EbHairMedium BrownColor Treated HairRelaxed HairChemically Treated HairLove ItI bought this iron because I needed a new one. I looked at several and chose this one because of the great reviews. It is important when using a new iron to start on a lower heat and slowly change the setting to see what temp is right for your hair. I also recommend heat protectant to insure your hair wont burn. Love this ironposted Jul 22, 2012Link to this post
