Cortex Solo 450 Titanium Flat Iron

DianeNot As Good As SoliaOwned a Solia for 2 years and dropped it on the floor and broke a plate. I found this Cortex 450 at TJ Max for $40 and thought I would try it before paying the extra money for a new Solia. Guess what, the Cortex went back to the TJ Max and I ordered another Solia. Cortex isn't bad but it does tend to pull my hair and requires multilple passes on the same section of hair. In addition, the Cortex restults do not last as long as the Solia's. Solia is worth the money.posted Apr 18, 2010Link to this post

DeborahDual Voltage Works Great For Travel!I spend half my year in the US and the other half traveling for work (mostly in South East Asia). This flat iron works perfectly in which ever country I take it too. With the built in voltage converter I can just plug it in and go. I fried my Chi flat iron the last time I was in Australia because of the lack of voltage conversion. Cortex makes it so simple. Mine had an adjustable heat setting up to 400F which is plenty hot. It leaves my hair shiny and not frizzy (I have naturally wavy hair) and is really easy to use for curls as well. If you travel as much as I do and only want to own one salon quality flat iron that works everywhere, this is it! I've had it for about a year and it's still going strong.posted Jan 30, 2010Link to this post

CarolineRocks My WorldI love this flat iron after using the instyler i thought i would have to live with curly hair forever but this made me belive again. This makes my hair so soft and i only have to go over the section once. I marked one star down because i do belive there is something better out there for me i did puff up again after a few hours and i need to put product in my hair for it to be shiny.posted Jan 1, 2010Link to this post

KatyGreat StraightenerI love this straightener. I have tried so many flat irons and this one is by far the best. I thin fine hair, that is wavy and this is perfect for me. It straightens the hair great and it also curls it. For some reason when I curl with a curling iron, the curls never hold, with this they last all day. I would suggest this to anyone.posted Oct 9, 2009Link to this post

JuliaGood Performance But No Temperature SettingsThis flat iron performs nicely, however, the only two temperature markings on the dial are 140 and 450. When you turn the dial in between the two settings you are basically estimating the temperature. This is not feasible for professional use, especially if you want to note what temperature you used for a particular client. For straightening, I'd give it a good rating. It is smooth and easy to handle. The handle does not heat up like some others that reach high temperatures. Good, but not what I need - I'm sending it back for an exchange.posted Sep 11, 2009Link to this post
